Ana was 8 and lived in the city very far from the coastal area. Her dream was to one day go to the beach and experience the warm sun, sand on her feet, and warm beach water. Ana lived with her mother and they had no car. Her dad left the family when she was only 2 years old. Ana was always excited when she saw pictures of the beach. Ana could not wait until the day she could visit the beach with her mom.
Ana went to school and that year she met a new student called Mary, they became very good friends. They were always playing together and talking about the beach.
When spring break came Mary told Ana that she was going to her beach house with her family and asked if she wanted to come. Ana told Mary that she needed to ask her mom first. Later that night Mary's mom gave Ana a phone call to invite her to the beach house. Mary's mom told Ana's mother that they were both very welcome to come with them. Ana's mom knew how much her daughter wanted to go to the beach and accepted the invitation. They drove the next day in the afternoon for almost 5 hours and made it to the beach house.
It was already dark when they got there, everyone was tired. Mary's mom told Ana and her mom that they would be going first thing in the morning to the beach after breakfast. Ana was too excited and felt butterflies in her stomach. Ana and Mary both went to sleep. Early in the morning Ana was woken up by her friend Mary who told her, "hurry, let's go take a peek at the beach." Ana felt scared, but she went along with Mary. It was a cool breeze and they started walking to the beach.
Ana did not know how to swim, but she went ahead and started walking into the water. Ana felt the water getting higher and higher and soon she started to sink. Ana was trying to swim, but wasn't able to swim back to the shore. Mary saw Ana's hand over the water and tried to reach her, suddenly Ana woke up and realized it was a dream. Her friend Mary woke her up and they all had breakfast that morning. Ana enjoyed the beach that day and it was the most special day ever with her mom. Ana's dream came true!
