The Pyramid
THE PYRAMID

My head felt hot as the blazing sun glistened on me.
”welcome to Egypt,” Karen said as she came and stood beside me with her hands on her hips.
“wait up!” Kelly called as she ran towards us.
“Where is the luggage?” Karen asked scratching her head thoughtfully.
“Here boss,” Luke replied sarcastically, as he joined in with a bunch of bags. He dumped them on the hard ground.
We all carried our bags. When we were about to get started when a tough-looking security guard blocked our way.
“So the four of you want to analyze the pyramid?” he asked. “Yes,” we all replied. “You must be Liam…” he deduced. “Yes,” I replied. “And you must be Luke, Kelly and Karen,” he assumed. “Yes,” they replied tamely. “I am Mohamed, the security. Your NEOs leveled me about you all. If you have any kind of trouble down there, just yell for help. Oh and do ensure that you have your intercoms with you,” he reassured us.
“Best of luck!”

Everybody accosted us as we made our way into the ancient pyramid. I could still hear their voices as we started for the main aisle. But then it got quieter as we went inside. The path was very narrow and long.
“How long is it?” whined Kelly.
“How am I supposed to know?” Luke said fiercely.
“Uh! I am literally boiling!” complained Karen.
“Guys we are almost there,” I reproved them.

After a few tiresome minutes, we entered a large hallway.
“It’s gigantic!” exclaimed Luke.
We walked around and appraised the place. Suddenly Kelly’s torch fell. When she bent down to pick it up the ground suddenly started shaking terribly fast. Kelly suddenly ceased and looked at us.
“W-what is h-happening?” she stammered.
“Nobody moves,” I commanded.
They all froze at once. But then suddenly the ground collapsed and we all fell screaming hard on the ground below.
“Is every one okay?” I certified.
“Yeah!” they all replied solemnly.

I got up and looked around for an exit. Of course they were no help whatsoever.
“Now what do we do?” asked Luke sitting in the middle of the pit dark aisle. Every one evaded. Finally I found an exit in the junction of the aisle but unfortunately it was blocked with copious rocks which were impossible to lift. I inclined back and started to search for another exit but suddenly I heard a horrendous howl, and the rocks hauled.
“What was that?” asked Kelly in a frightening voice. Then a hideous creature appeared from behind the rocks.
“ahhhh!” we all screamed and ran and started searching for another exit. Then Luke, very astutely found an egress behind the spot on where we fell. We all bustled over there. We thought that we got saved but the Jackal-looking creature chased after us.
“Quick! Help me push this rock.” Then we all pushed it away within a few seconds and quickly ran away.
But unfortunately the monstrous creature caught the girls. We wanted to help them but there was nothing we could do. We ran and ran breathlessly until we entered another lane. Then we started to walk.
“Try the intercom,” I broached.
“I tried it its useless,” he replied sadly. “its so dusky, thank God we have our torches with us,” he said.
We walked on for a few minutes.
“Luke….. I think,” he started to say but to my surprise he was gone.
“See Luke!” I yelled 2 or 3 times.
Suddenly I felt a sharp nail pressing into my shoulder and then I heard the same horrific sound.
