The Real Problem

It’s funny. You’re the broken one, but I’m the only one who needed saving. The sorrow I had felt was pushed away because of the pain you said you felt. You wore your emotions desperately on your face, looking for attention or someone to tell you it was okay. What was wrong though? What was it that made you so desolate? Yes, we all have demons, secrets, and problems, but when you have anxiety or even depression, you don’t want people to know. You hide your true feelings with a fake smile. Nobody even has the slightest clue that you are dying inside, staring at a blank ceiling at night, counting down the hours, checking your phone every two minutes for the “I understand what you’re going through and I want to help” text that never comes. Please try to understand real problems while taking others into consideration. The girl with the biggest smile and loudest laugh, could also be the girl who goes home and drowns herself with horrible, numbing thoughts.
