THE TRANS-SIBERIAN TRAIN JOURNEY
Born 2000, M, from Cork, IrelandThe Trans-Siberian Train Journey.
I had been looking forward to taking the Trans-Siberian Train Journey. Now as the train left the outskirts of Moscow, the thoughts of spending the next eight days and nights sharing a carriage with the two silent strangers that are there is filling me with dread. They threw me dirty looks as I read the evening mail, while smoking my cigar. The smoke from my cigar slowly came up and made my bloodshot eyes water. I pretended not to notice the two men across the way from me, who were giving me dangerous stares. I looked out the dirty pawed window to see slums filled with young children playing soccer with a sock filled with paper.
The two men across from me stood up and took a briefcase each. They walked down the carriage and they went into their cabin. One man had forgot his cap so he came back for it. But as he did so, he threw a note onto my seat. I was tempted to open it, but I couldn't. Not when he was here anyway. As he walked back to his cabin, he turned his head over his shoulder and gritted his teeth. I gave an awkward smile. My heart was beating very fast. I opened the note. The first thing I saw was blood smeared across the page. The note also said "look under your seat, you will need it". I checked under my seat to not only see a babies nappy, but a sliver dagger as well. They probably meant the nappy, so I put that into my rugsack. I wanted to investigate.
I put my rugsack on my back and threw my cigar out the window.
I stood up and walked towards the strangers cabin. I looked through their keyhole. Little did I realise that I had looked in the wrong keyhole and saw a man picking his nose. I nearly vomited. I looked through the keyhole of the cabin to the right. I saw the two men sitting on the bed looking into the brief cases, with an evil grin on their faces.
I kicked open the door. "Booyakasha" I roared. They screamed like seven year old girls. "Haha I knew you would be afraid, now give me the money!" I said. "What money?" they said innocently. "Don't play the goody goody idiots!", I snapped very proudly.
They showed me the briefcase. There was jam sandwiches inside of it. "Just jam sandwiches", they muttered.
"Then explain why you left a dagger under my seat and why was there blood smeared across my note?", I fired back. "Well the so called dagger was actually a butterknife if you wanted more jam on your sandwiches, and that was jam smeared across your page to give you a hint that we have sandwiches". My jaw dropped. "Oh um okay, well ah lets have some sandwiches I guess"
