Spacepeeple visit Blue Moon.

Once upon a time there was a little green space man called Desymond and a beautiful little space lady called Mitzy. They had a lovely pink space baby called Gurgle Goo.

They lived in Scarborough because Scarborough was best.

As it was Sunday they decided to go for a fly about in Desymond’s spaceship. It was parked in the Castle Spaceship Park.

They all climbed in and Desymond pressed the starter. The motor buzzed quietly and they started to float a bit. Desymond checked the tanks to see that they had enough water. Then off they went high into the blue sky above the waves leaving little puffs of steam behind them.

They had friends that they had not seen for a long time. They lived on Blue Moon. It was just to the right of the Silver Moon. So off they went to see if they were in. The friends were called Dingleberry and Cynthia.

When Desymond landed Cynthia was washing up the rock pots in the cave kitchen. Blue Moon was really different. All blue rocks, cliffs and a blue light everywhere.
“Hello, my friends” said Dingleberry. “I didn’t know you had a beautiful little pink spacebaby.”
Gurgle Goo smiled and went a bit pinker.
“We have some good news for you” said Dingleberry. “Cynthia is expecting a little Blue Moon baby in two months’ time.”
“Wow.” Said Mitzty . “That’s terrific.”
This time Cynthia blushed a little bit bluer.
“You must come and see my new rock swimming pool.” Said Dingleberry.
They went outside and there it was. A big pear shaped pool full of nice blue water.

The water was warm but thickish like jelly so you could not sink unless you held onto a good big rock when you jumped in.
“It’s heated with a microwave oven thing." Said Dingleberry. “So it doesn’t cost much to run.”
Gurgle Goo had the idea now and she jumped off the highest cliff alongside holding onto a big rock.
There was a big slow splash.
She went down and down and down to the very bottom. When she opened her eyes she could see the legs of the others dangling down.
Then a long sausage shaped fish swam up to her and smiled. It had hundreds of little legs wiggling underneath it.
Gurgle Goo let go of the rock in fright and shot up to the surface like a rocket.
“Fishy, fishy” she shouted to the others.
“Oh, that’s all right.” Said Dingleberry. “It’s only our pet bluefish called Sally. It’s very friendly.”
But Gurgle Goo had been really frightened and she would not go back into the rock pool.

Cynthia made tea. They had some blue buns called rock cakes and some biscuits with a lovely blue chocolate on top.

Before long it was time to go and they had a cup of tea then climbed back into the spaceship.
“Bye,” shouted Cynthia. “We’ll come and see you next time we are in Scarborough. There will be three of us then.”
“Bye,” Shouted Mitzy, “I look forward to seeing the new Blue Moon baby.”
“Bye,” shouted Dingleberry. ”We’ve had a great time. I’ll have your Yorkshire tea ready for you when you come.”
“Bye, Fishy Wishy” said Gurgle Goo.

Desymonds spaceship started to float a bit. Then it puffed out a little bit of steam and they were up and away. They waved back to the Blue Moon friends through the plastic bubble.
Through the dark night sky they cruised.
Through the dark night clouds they cruised.
Back to earth, back to Scarborough.
Gurgle Goo fell asleep and she was still asleep when they landed at the Castle Spaceship Park.
Mitzy gently lifted her out and they started to walk home.

“There is no doubt in my mind" said Desymond. "Earth is best.”
Mitzy put her head on his shoulder and said “Yes, we love it don’t we?”
Gurgle Goo was talking in her sleep. “Don’t like fishy, don’t like sally.”
Desymond laughed “I think she means,’don’t be silly’.”
They laughed.
