Old Gingerbread Hag [Poetry](Abby Callan) When it’s with the sun,
Sunflowers would come racing in for fun.
When it’s with the moon,
Fireflies would lite up every corner of the room.

Dwarfs of the woods
Been forging walls doing good
Losing nights of dreams
Just to paint my scheme.

Pixies from Mountain Arch,
Been lining my fine porch
Trees of maroon lollipops, up.
Pool of ginger beer, in the largest cup.
And paint the welcome mat
The portrait of my darling cat.

Under the hands of all mystics,
This house shall ferment in feathery streaks.
And on the third full moon night,
Seven counts after a wolf’s warning yowl of plight,
There, under the moon glow of blue,
Shall poise The House, dripping choco fondue.

*

And in a cauldron, mushroom broth
I will set boil, into scented froth.
Then I shall wait by the ball of crystal,
For the pair named Hansel and Gretel.
