Education-A different view

What's Education? Is it just about marks? Is it just about being a topper in one's class and showing off?Or is it actually about learning the values of life?
Well...It's high time people ponder about these things, before we all get submerged in the "world of marks" which might be virtually called as "education" in future. Most of us will agree, that Education is more than just scoring marks, but do we implement it? NO. I am 100% sure the answer is NO.
Parents are still building up stress on their children, just to make them score top marks. But is it worth it? Shouldn't the children learn better in school rather than just getting marks? After all, the knowledge gained by the child will be the investment for his/her future, and a piece of paper with cent percentage mark will go ignored and unnoticed.
Education is about learning the principles and values of life.Parents must understand that marks are not the end of world. It's just a criteria. Some say "Education is life" I strongly condemn that. Education is NOT life. But, Knowledge is. Yes, "Knowledge is Life". Every child must be knowledgeable. Every society needs someone who can guide them through the different hurdles of life, not someone who can write a exam paper and score cent percent marks in it.
I am not telling marks are not important at all. Of course they are. But it is just not the only important thing. There are much more important things rather than marks, which every child must cultivate. Parents should inculcate good manners and social-friendly behavior in their children. They must focus on bringing their child has a wonderful citizen of the country, rather than the topper in their class.
