The Doctors Poem.
Born 1997, F, from Melbourne, AustraliaWhat you are about to read is composed entirely of ideas and premises from sources I find inspirational. Each line is said by the likes of Matt Smith, Sir Ben Kingsley, Garry Oldman, Robbin Williams, Hippocrates, David Tennant, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and various ideas from philosophy. It advocates inquiry for knowlages sake, a love of life and humanity, the need for and the ubiquity of choice, ditching the comfort zone and embracing uncertainty as a driving force for your development and growth. Its about never losing that authentic curiosity for those things that mystify you no matter how old you are. (Let it be known, many of the lines in this poem are not my own, but I have borrowed and worked into a literary homage to some of the literary and cinematic greats and the curiosity and drive of humanity.)
We are all stories in the end, but
Mine is yours isn't over
Because I always have a choice.
What would life be like without a little bit of risk?
so... "Stormageddon".
Carpe Dium!
With a love of Medicine
There is also a love of Humanity.
Premum Non Nocre!
Life Will Out!
because...
How pale and tedious
would this world be
without mystery?
So always remember...
Bow ties are cool.
Take on those challanges.
Solve those puzzles.
And;
Those three pipe problems.
Keep learning.
and
Keep asking.
Be the optimist and the hoper of far flung hopes.
The dreamer
of
Impossible dreams!
Always
The ancient ammeture
because...
Anybody remotly interesting
is
Mad in some way or another.

Besides conveying your eclectic reading tastes, I think your poem will cause many to go on a literary treasure hunt. Your opening paragraph stands as a worthy read - by itself. Good on you- as my British friends would say. Keep that fierce curiosity growing. Smiles, Kevin

06/10/2018Hey Kevin,
I highly value your comments, they are objective as well as super supportive and nice. I just wrote a poem out of quotes from every movie and tv show I've ever liked and that's ever taught me anything useful ever. But the majority of its content comes from Doctor Who because I love that show. Irony being my other stories are mostly just scenes I made up in my head from vicarious experiences I've had, songs I've listen to or premises from movies I've seen. Blissful Insomnia was written while I was watching a Freddie Crugar film and wondered what it would be like to loose the ability to sleep. Something for the Pain was written after I listen to the Pink Floyd song Comfortably Numb and saw the music video which I think is a work of art in of itself and asked what must this kid have felt like, what would his mother have done? Thank you Kevin, I'm glad to know that my writing is enjoyable to someome. Or at least makes people think.
