Meg sit in her car, wipers sweeping the rain from the glass. Her radio on to a old rock station, and Herman and the hermits were singing, I'm leaning on the lamp, Maybe you think I look a tramp, Or maybe you think I'm 'round to steal a car, But no, I'm not a crook, And if you think that's what I look, I'll tell you why and what my motives are.
Meg questioned what her motives might be. Looking at Joes Pay Day Bar and Grill. The dirty plate glass window sitting in brick that was old and dirty by time and smog. Why, had she even agreed to come here? Why had she just not told Molly no? Yet Molly captivated her as few people did.
They both worked for Guaranteed a Win law firm. Meg was married to the owner and one attorney, a partner in running the business and very beautiful and twenty years younger then Joe. He was a sought after guy to handle cases that dealt with embezzlement and fraud cases. He was a strong defense attorney which was a powerful force as he defended bad guys.
She was living the high life, they met at Las Vegas while having drink as he bragged about his winnings. She learned later he didn't win often but he had money to burn. His firm was in all places, St Louis, Missouri, in a beautiful downtown building, that also housed other guys that did tort cases and divorce and all kinds of things and paid him a hefty rent.
Molly was hired as the newest paralegal and they spent what hours they worked together along with three other paralegals and a secretary and a receptionist. His rates were not cheap and when other guys in the building was getting 200$ a hour he was getting a 1000$ plus nice bonus when he won. He also represented some big players in what was really legal ways to launder money.
Meg liked Molly, she was fun, full of life her same age, and a killer body. Meg had never been intimate with a woman till Molly. She thought of the song, I kissed a girl and I liked it, and she sure had. Yet other then Molly, Meg would declare she had never cheated on Joe. Yet she knew Joe went to bed with any woman a few drinks would buy. She stayed though, the money and life was unbelievable.
When Molly had told her to meet at this place, she said it was too talk about something that they could not risk anyone knowing. So though this was not the kind of place she had been too since she met Joe, ended up in his bed and arranged her becoming his wife. Because you see, Meg controlled Joe in every thing but his drinking and cheating.
She sit in her brand new Jaguar, watching for Molly's Volvo, something she wanted to change and Meg promised soon she would give her a BMW. She was smart enough to know they needed to move slowly, Joe was not the issue or the office gossip, it was Joes daughter from his first wife. Cara was a never ending problem and had a lot of influence with Joe.
Meg had been finding ways to cut her out of things more and more and Joe was bulking about it. A few days ago when drunk he accused her of hating Cara, of course she denied it. Yet she knew that was a big warning.
She saw Molly pull into a empty spot and rushed out in the rain across the street to the bar, Molly met her at the door laughing and kissing her. Hand in hand they walked in and took seats in a booth.
The place had only one bartender and he was the one waiter too. He started to flirt with them, and Meg held up her finger with the ring, "I am the wrong one to suck up too", and Molly smiled and said, taking her hand, "it's my goal to be the one too steal her, so don't bother with me".
As Meg drank coffee in silence, she hated the taste of alcohol, though on the breath of a lover it was overlooked. Molly had a mug of old faithful Bud. She broke the silence and blurted out. "Meg it is time for us to get rid of Joe."
Meg was not shocked or surprised, it was something they often talked about while naked after the enjoyments of the flesh, the smell of each other on the lips and the taste sweet. That seemed to make the words come easy. Now they did not flow as quick or as sweetly in tone.
Molly went on. "Joe just won us a 5 million dollars off that AT..... Case, so you handle the funds, let's take it! We can go away and live in a nice city with a night life and nice stores, like Miami."
Meg smiled, "we could do a lot of living, I already have about ten million put away and lots of his real estate has my name and you will love this. I saw his will, that fat ugly daughter gets very little."
They both smiled they had talked about a plan and knew just what they would do. Meg smiled, "I am going to horse show in Arizona this weekend and Joe will be their too, I will get you a ticket too and I will set up your hotel, we will tell Joe its so we can work."
That made Molly break into a big smile, it will be work ok, but the most fun we have ever had." Now one thing worth knowing is Molly came from a very strict Baptist family. Her daddy that pastored a church in Arkansas would come to disown her, not for the crime of murder but because of the dilly dally life with Meg.
Time passes slow over the next few days, all either of them thought about, was they would be together with no Joe. Just before the horse showing, something Joe loved, his horses, Meg dropped half a bottle of horse tranquilizer in his whiskey.
Booze drinkers never will get how easy it is to drug booze and just how many have died from it we will never know, or how many women raped because of it. Drinking booze is a suckers game and Meg knew it. This after all, was not her first rodeo.
Joe barely made it through the show. Back in hotel room he passed out. They managed to get him in the jeep Meg rented. They added two shovels and drove all the way to California.
When Joe died on the drive they tossed him in the back covered him with a blanket. They found a Vineyard, dug a shallow grave and buried him.
Went home and a month later spending all their time together. They shut down his office and the only person asking where he was, was Cara. Yet, Joe when on a drinking bout had disappeared for months. In the meantime Molly and Meg was living like queens.
This might of gone on more then three years, but a field worker saw buzzards and found a leg poking up. That grave dug up and tests made and not only was it Joe, but they found traces of the horse tranquilizer.
Meg was arrested and she told it all, adding the twist it was Molly, Molly said it was all Meg and only person grieving was Cara.
Both were locked up, but all the evidence that was found was pointed at Meg. Worse Meg was not Meg, she was really Patty Jones and had changed her name on run when she met Joe. She was wanted for many things and possible murder before.
Everything on Molly was circumstantial and though she claimed she did it out of fear of Meg, nobody was buying it. Lucky maybe for her Patty knew she was going away for life and choose to hang herself. So the trail didn't have her blaming Molly and she only got 11 years for A bating and abetting in the crime.
Tonight Molly is walking in the Pay Day Bar. There was a part of the story no one guessed. She kissed the bartender, "do you still have the money?" He smiled, "baby we have most of it, about four mil."
They hung a out of business sign on the door and walked out to her BMW and are now enjoying Miami.
