So yesterday I got the biggest news of my life; an no one was there! You see I've struggled with dyslexia my entire life; reading has never been a strength. I've missed alot of opportunities based on this learning disability. I've given up top jobs because I'm illiterate. It hasn't prevent me from supporting my bestie Kyra; who owns a boutique downtown in Florence, SC. She puts together these ravishing events, but sometimes it's hard to read the program; but I'm still present. Yesterday, Kyra an I; go to meet some friends at this exquisite cuisine restaurant called Emperors. This was a five star restaurant, the best of best, lamb chops, quail, an duck. I simply ordered a burger because it was easy to pronunciate the word "burger" to order. Who goes to a five star restaurant; where they personally know the chef an orders fast food? Finding the word cheeseburger on the menu wasn't a challenge; especially when they have pictures. So, yesterday I got the biggest news of my life, an no one was there! Hey you guys, I have an announcement. Everyone turns, what is it Chelsy? I got hired as the top graphic designer at Photo Ops. The faces look stunned, but the reaction was even more surprising?? (claps, applauding). Our friend Sarah turns an states im glad you got this opportunity, but I think we're all pondering...im going to just say it ; since its clearly an elephant in the room. How are you going to read the orders the customers want? Be forreal Chelsy, we all know you can't read. You can barely order; no disrespect. Yesterday, I got the biggest news of my life; an I told everyone I've ever supported, an they all question my literacy. I've supported them all despite my challenges. I couldn't read the program's at Kyra's events she been throwing for years now. I couldn't understand Eddie's marketing plan for his architectural design; because I'm terrible with numbers. Sarah owns a vineyard that was left to her after her grandmother passed; an I never know what type of wine I'm ordering but I know the cheese crackers are great. Marcus, is the top chef at Emperors, where we eat every friday; an I order wings, burgers an fries because they have illustrations. They all questioned my ability when it came to myself but never worried about my disability when it was there time or season to shine. Yesterday, I got the biggest opportunity of my life, I told everyone, but noone was there!

Shaquia D,

There is so much packed into your story. Great job. We need to match strengths with weaknesses, it makes us all better people. When the whole group throws their strengths into the pot, there is always someone there. Great Story. Great Lesson. Great job!

Smiles, Kevin
