Legalizing Marijuana
Born 2004, F, from Honeybrook/Pennsylvania, United StatesThink of your child smoking marijuana. What if they were accused of being a criminal? According to the source, www.drugabuse.gov ¨Marijuana is the most commonly used substance in the United States. Its use is widespread among young people. In 2015, more than 11 million young adults ages 18 to 25 used marijuana in the past year. According to the Monitoring the Future survey, rates of marijuana use among middle and high school students have dropped or leveled off in the past few years after several years of increase. However, the number of young people who believe regular marijuana use is risky is decreasing.¨ A problem with Marijuana is that people who smoke it are made criminals, and a solution to the marijuana issue is to decriminalize it and put an age limit on it so that the younger irresponsible people can not access it.
A problem with marijuana is that it messes with peoples minds six weeks after. According to one source, "Teenagers who abuse marijuana can suffer problems with their short-term memory up to six weeks after they stop smoking the substance, researchers have found" (Marijuana mangles memories). Marijuana messes with your mind even after 6 weeks. This is a problem because of the 66.7% of teen students that go to school need their memories or they will not be smart anymore and not be able to remember what they learn in school. In some ways, Marijuana is not good.
A solution to the marijuana problem is decriminalizing it. According to one source,¨Perhaps because of the huge personal and social costs of criminalizing the recreational behavior of tens of millions, about a dozen states have already “decriminalized” marijuana¨ (Marijuana Legalization). We do not want to make criminals out of teens so a solution to this issue is decriminalizing. This will make fewer criminals in our world and make everything better. Wouldn't it also be better for our policemen to focus on real criminals than the ones that are under marijuana use?
According to one source, ¨Under alcohol prohibition or pot decriminalization, using the substance is okay but procuring it makes you a criminal and forces you to deal with bigger criminals (dealers) in an unregulated black market¨, (Marijuana Legalization). We can make it to where people 21 and older can access it only because irresponsible teens cannot access it.
Marijuana is not as bad as people make it out to be.

04/18/2019Emmm don’t think you have enough informed information here. For starters. Your statement Police should go after real criminals . If you smoke dope or sell it you are a REAL criminal.
Why if this is LAW do you not think it is.
Do you know thats the most said statement when a person is stopped in a car for anything. (Why don’t you go after the real criminals ) lol
Yes you are so right in saying it messes with peoples heads . Good reason NEVER to decriminalise this harmful substance.
Under NO circumstances should it be legalised. We have enough problems on the roads already with drunk drivers let alone giving free reign to the stoners.

04/21/2019JD , yes it is buts its a medicinal cannibis which means it’s had the THC taken from it making it a non hallucinate substance and making it no different from any other medicine.
Two totally different drugs. Ones for your regular stoner the other is medicinal.
I was only referring to the stoner brands :-)
