School story telling was part of the school. It has
been the tradition of the school and they had won
many competitions out of storytelling and their
fathers and mothers had by this practice preserved
all the main events that had taking place in the
school over a generation. The school made sure
that every child of age would tell a story at least
once a week and it must be a story of her daily
encounter in the school and of her faith but she
would not come to the school to preach to the
children nor the teacher about Jesus for such
teaching would destroy the image of the school.
No bible study, would be held, the office hated it
so much because the knowledge of god would
corrupt the children and the only thing they would
think about is Jesus and religion, when they should
be thinking of the term science and technology
which to mercy’s parents has brought nothing good
but bombs and missiles to the children of grace. It
spoils the children; the school authority kept saying
but the children of grace has seen why arm robbery
and bad things has become part of our schools
because we have kept Jesus away from the hearts
of many children who truly needs Jesus.
Too religious was the term that had to be
abolished in the school. The principal wanted a
school where all the pupils will be of good
character and would not disobey the school nor the
rules set by the school and anyone who therefore
preaches the word of god when he or she is not to
do so risk being expelled from the school.
Too lazy, that was the language that the
headmistress used to qualify Mercy and her parents
and would not hear that such a nuisance is allowed
to take place in her school. The authority will not
approve of such a message if she did not tell
them. She was determined to follow the wish of
the people and not be guided by what she cannot
understand which a teacher had told her was a
I will tell the story of the birth and the death of
Jesus Christ. He has been the reason for the good
things to come in this life.
Tell father of it and she did. She did not waste any
time in telling it to her father and he told her to
goon that it was a good endeavor that she would
do to all the children around but he feared for her
life, but he was certain she was not to go to cell
for talking of Jesus. She was not to be
reprimanded behind bars for believing in Jesus.
They will come to them and asked them to caution
A good story teller, the whole school knew she
was a good story teller. She was asked to tell the
story of the school at every event and she kept
winning awards for the school for the grace of God
was with him.
She is still six years old, when she was known as
one of the best story tellers in the world.
Her prayer was a good one and she prayed with
her mother before she went to sleep that night. She
knew God was in control without being told.
And she told her mother her story, and her mother
was very happy with her and she decided what she
would do for her daughter to make her life better
and better for her.
The cross was what she had given to her in the
morning to which she had prayed for her and she
went off to tell her story.
She carried it to school and did the presentations
with it. She told the story with all her heart and she
saw those tears fall from her eyes and believed
that the God of heaven had touched her in a way
that she cannot expect.
She felled down as she carried the cross and the
mind of the teacher and the people hearing her
story. She prayed, as she had never prayed before.
She told the story that nobody believed that she
can tell. The whole class cried. They were crying
happily with the joy of god in their lives. That day
was the happiest day in her life.
The teacher wept. She wept as Jesus did. She was
full of emotion that she said the whole school.
Tell this story to the whole school the
headmistress encouraged her and she was able to
tell it. She was also sent to the children’s day.
Tell it to the head teacher and she did. The head
teacher cried as she had never cried before. She
had never felt so emotional before.
She gave her life to Jesus. She wanted the whole
school to give their lives to Jesus too.
Another opportunity was given to her to do the
things she knew best but first she must tell it
outside the school and it must be in the school
convention which other students must attend.
Her preparation was little but the blessings that you
need were too much for her to bear.
The demonstration, she gave to the school was
enough to make the school cry. They cried and
cried. And would not be stopped… yet, in the spirit
they were glad. They had the peace of God which
money cannot buy.
She school cried… everybody in the school cried
and would not be consoled. They kept crying and
would not be consoled. The next day, the
headmistress decreed that there will be moral
instructions every week. Mercy’s parents were sent
and her moral teacher was assigned to teach the
students every Thursday and this, the school began
a winning pattern that will see them as the best
A change in school was seen and the pupils were
behaving well and were no longer stubborn and
wicked as they used to be. The school went on to
excel and produced forth good results that the
school will never forget in a while because they
have accepted Jesus with their heart.
