If You Can Get Anything What Will It Be?
Born 2008, M, from Oregon, United StatesThe night was about to end with a big surprise. My parents told me in a week I could choose anything for my birthday. The only problem is that they said it can’t be anything that is too expensive. Then my parents told me to brush my teeth and prepare to go to sleep. Fortunately, that gave me time to think about it what I want for my birthday. Twelve hours later, I woke up at 8 am. Just then, I had a very good idea.
I thought to myself, if I had one thing that I wanted what would I get? I loved gaming so I decided if I wanted a gaming computer or not, but I thought I needed it to be useful too. I needed to buy things with it. Just then my mom yelled “Breakfast is ready!” So I didn’t think about my present once more. I wasn’t thinking of my present at all during the day. I only just remembered when I got home.
I asked my dad what I should get and he also said “Get what is most useful.” I kept thinking until the day. When I got home from school my dad was home too, which is unusual because he has work. Then the moment came, I was prone to make my decision. The pressure was on. So I did the only thing that I could think of. I said I only wanted $50. Now looking back to this day I still remember the exact words they said, “Son, I am very proud of you. You made a skillful, wise, and great decision.”
Now I am really glad I chose not to get games, I learned that games are not important, having the materials you need is more important.
