Beguiling trip to Bangkok
Born 2003, F, from Dubai, United Arab Emirates
It was the summer of 2017 when my family and I travelled to Bangkok from Dubai. 7 to 8 hours of discomposure was felt by the passengers. The plane landed during early hours of the day, and we all came to realize that the exhaustion and fatigue was all worth it.
As my family and I drove to the hotel, the fresh air of Bangkok glided past my face. The weather was magnificient and the sky was cloudy. Even though the traffic was quite heavy during the rush hour, the weather still remained pleasant.
In the afternoon we went to the closest mall from our hotel for lunch. There were various food item choices in the food court; from a simple sandwhich to a high course Thai cuisine. After much consideration we settled on a Thai cuisine which consisted of plain white rice topped on by mouth-watering chicken gravy. After finishing our meal we decided to take a little tour around the gigantic mall. Shopping was a very common trend since tremendous sales were on 24/7.
The very next day, after a long night of shopping, we had quite an adventure waiting ahead of us. We quickly got ready, and rushed to a "Floating market". This sounded very odd to me yet also very exciting. The concept of this consisted of boats filled with tourists or visitors and boats for selling snacks, all floating on the same river. It was unbelievable! There were huge shopping stalls independantly floating on the river by themselves. The idea of this really astounded me. Getting off the boat was quite a hustle though, but we had soon landed at our destination: The Buddhist Temple.
This temple was just simply astonishing. it was huge and it's stairs went way high up where we were surrounded with clouds. It was the peak of summer however the atmosphere was very chill. There were very few people up there and the surrounding remained calm since the afternoon sky remained cloudy. Not even a ray of sunshine shone on the temple which gave it a serene vibe. The only sound that could be heard was the ringing of the temple bells.
Our final destination of the day was Madame Tussauds. As we entered the museum it was covered with majestic red carpet. And as we went deeper inside, the whole place was lined up with famous celebs sparkling under the dim light. Some included: Michael Jackson, Selena Gomez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and a few royals including Prince Charles, Prince William, etc.
On our last day in the fascinating city of Bangkok, I just couldn't resist myself to spending a tad bit money on shopping in the crowded yet electrifying shopping centre. As we finally got out of the centre it had started to rain and the sky couldn't look any prettier. My family and I quickly rushed in a cab and rubbed our freezing palms in the warmth of the car. I looked outside the window as we passed by the various destinations we had stopped over and admired. But as we reached the airport it was time to say goodbye to Bangkok and catch our flight to Phuket.
