Carson flung himself into a pile of hay, wishing it could hide him from how embarrassed he felt from how he handled his relationship with Sadie. Carson was left alone for awhile before he heard a cough from up above him on the high beam. Carson looked up and saw his best friend kyle laying on the beam. “Kyle?” Carson asked, taken by surprise. “Hi Carson. I came by about 10 minutes ago, but your mom said you didn’t look like you were having a good day so I came out here instead since I knew this is where you would be.” Kyle said as he stood on the high beam and courageously jumped to the loft landing and then down on the ground and sat next to Carson. “How’s Sadie?” Kyle curiously asked. “That’s actually why I’m having a bad day.” Carson somberly said back. “You see, I took her out to Carlson Point yesterday for a little picnic and we ended up kissing. She became weirded out, so I left and now I don’t know what to do. This morning I made her some breakfast to make up for it, and she took the breakfast but closed the door in my face.” Carson calmly explained. “well, did you get her some flowers?” Kyle deliberately asked. “Of course! I picked them off the cactus itself.” Carson yelled. “There is a Plan B.” Kyle said as he stood up and beckoned for Carson to follow him. Kyle led me to the sheep pen, Carson looked at Kyle like he had lost his mind. “Trust me.” Kyle said as he dove into the sheeps wool and took out a puppy. “Where did you find that?” Carson said in amazement as he pulled back the sheeps wool to find Carson’s dog and a litter of puppies. “Looks like Old Sal was a girl.” Kyle joked as he picked up one puppy after another and put them into a nearby wheelbarrow. Carson wheeled the puppies to the back door of the house and bounded up the stairs to Sadie’s bedroom to show her what happened. “Sadie! Old Sal had puppies!” Carson yelled, not even bothering to open the door. Sadie opened the door laughing saying, “Now Carson, you do realize that males cant have babies right?” Carson was in such disbelief about the puppies he barely even heard her sarcasm. “Okay, you seem excited so lead me to the imaginary puppies.” Sadie said sarcastically as Carson grabbed her arm and dragged her down the stairs. Sadie still looked annoyed as we walked through the kitchen, but her worried look turned to excitement as the litter of puppies jumped out of the wheelbarrow and onto her. “They are so cute!” Sadie exclaimed as she kissed Carson on the lips. Carson took a step back, “Wasn’t she mad at me?” He thought as Kyle stood in front of them and gave him the thumbs up when Sadie wasn’t looking. There were 5 puppies all together so it was easy to find Old Sal and her puppies a spot in the house. “What is it with us not knowing about our animals being pregnant?” Carson asked as him and Sadie started dying laughing. “I don’t know, but lets let them sleep.” Sadie said as she walked out of the room. Carson thought he would go for a nice walk to clear his mind. “Ill be back in a few minutes.” Carson told Sadie as he left the house and started the trek down the dirt road driveway. Carson made it about halfway down the driveway before he felt the cool wind of the tumbleweed storm. “Oh no.” Carson thought as a tumbleweed rolled by, and then another one, then another one until all he saw was darkness as the tumbleweeds knocked him to the ground and rendered him unconscious.
