It was a dark Saturday night. I had gone on a trek with my class. I finished my dinner and went to pitch the tent. We pitched the tents and I crawled into the tent with a few of my friends. Inside the tent it was dark so my friend deepankar took his torch out. We made a few animal-shadows, and then we pulled ourselves into our sleeping bag. A few hours later I woke up with a start to a sound. It sounded like a lady wailing. I went out of the tent. I shot the torch in the direction of the sound. I couldn't see any thing. I walked slowly towards the sound. I was creeped out so I started walking back. I could hear foot steps. I shot the torch in front of me. My shadow waved into sight. I was confused. How could my own shadow show in front of me when there is no light source behind me. I sighed and continued walking. But whenever I stopped the shadow didn't stop. It took a step before it stopped. I was spooked out. I ran to the tent, switched the torch off. Immediately the lady lady's wailing continued. I took my inflated pillow squeezed it over my head and slept. The next day we took the train back home. I told everybody. Sadly nobody believed me. That night I didn't wake up to any sound.
