The Power of Peace(Zachary Pereira) There are people gathered all around me and the school bully outside my high school. His name is Tom, he's been picking on me and kids like me for too long and i just wanted it to stop. This all started when I told on Tom to my math teacher Mr. Mort, and he told the principal then the principal talked to Tom. The next day, I had to use the restroom so i walked in and saw Tom and his buddies picking on this skinny kid who i didn't know but i knew i had to help. Tom asked the kid if he was the one that told on him, the kid said no but Tom didn't believe him and shoved the kid to the ground.

I had to stop him but i have the option to walk away but i just can't. "Hey Tom" i said, Tom looks at me with anger in is eyes and says "What the hell do you want ugly"?
"I am the one that told on you". Tom approached me and he tells me "After school, meet me outside, your dead meat." then he shoves me to the ground and him and his buddies walk away. The skinny kid gets up and thanks me for sticking up for him, he introduces himself as William. "Are you ok William?" i asked.
"Yeah, i'll be fine but Tom is coming after you".
"I know, but i won't let him hurt anyone else". I said and i leave to my last class of the day.

During my science class, I think about what will happen in the fight, anything can happen really. But i do probably know i'll get beat up but the thing is: I won't fight back because i am going to do this the peaceful way. News about the fight spread like wildfire to other people A few hours later, the bell rings and everyone leaves and gathers at the front. I gather my stuff and my bag and walk out and see people gathering obviously wanting to see the fight between Me and Tom, i see Tom standing in the middle of the crowd looking at me with pure rage in his eyes. I am scared but i won't give Tom the satisfaction of showing my fear. I set my stuff down and walked up to him and said "Tom, i just want to talk there is no need for violence". "You got me in trouble so now YOUR gonna be in trouble with my fist!!!" then he punches me in the face and i go down. The pain was terrible, but i stand back up and face him again.

"I will not fight you, i am just telling you to stop picking on people".
"I DON'T CARE!!!!"
"I know you don't, but i do care. Beat me up instead of them, i'm the one that told on you". Suddenly the people started to cheer for me because they knew i am doing the right thing by standing up to Tom. Tom looks at the crowd angrily and then looks at me and i see the fire in his eyes. I wasn't gonna fight back so i told him "Tom, you can beat me up all you want but you know i'm right".
"SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!!!!!!" Tom then yelled and the crowd backed away. Then Tom shoves me to the ground and stands over me and he starts choking me with his bare hands. I hear the crowd telling him to stop but they're too afraid to stop him. I look at Tom's red face and still blazing angry fire in his eyes. He won't listen to me people like him never do but i did the right thing, i stood up to him and now my job is done. Then i black out.

I wake up in the hospital with family around me. I still have pain but not bad, but i smile. I ask what happened with Tom and my mother told me that the police were called and they came and got Tom but Tom didn't go without a fight but this was a fight Tom didn't win and he got arrest for assaulting officers. I know i did the right thing, i stood up to Tom, stood up for all my friends and actually lived through the fight.
