Whilst thou lie sleeping

The withered flora lay in beds
Where in our youth we did play
And frolic with hearts full of glee
Never more…
Whilst thou lie sleeping

Cruel, the hand that took from me
The love the Lord bestowed with thee
I wait, till them, with sighs and weeping
Whilst thou lie sleeping

In my breast with heart a’ broken
Yearning for thou yet awoken
And wish to embrace once again
When together… shall lie sleeping
