Night in Shining Armour
Born 1998, M, from Kolkata, IndiaMy being longs to reveal itself,
But light crawls through my skin,
Asks my fingers where they've been,
Running through my soddy breast,
Or slipping through the Phoenix Nest.
My being longs to reveal itself,
But the monster's screams break my soul,
They keep warm, as I burn like coal,
I'm a cruel game they like to play,
The dusk loudly whispers, ' They're here to stay'.
My being longs to reveal itself,
But burning incense and a red-lit room,
Remind me of my impending doom,
I stay mum as the monsters shout,
All the while eating my insides out.
My being finally reveals itself,
So I wait until my love has reached,
Killing the maggots, through my crevices breached,
My love, my night, my healing bark,
No he isn't evil, only darkness is dark.

05/27/2020Brilliant work, Kanishka. Superb structure and cadence. For me, it's all about the exquisite struggle of the writer/artist, but like all great pieces, it's about the human condition. Deep, dark, and brimming with vulnerability and feeling. : )

05/28/2020As Paulo Coelho said, " Tears are just words that need to be written"
Only in my case the teras aren't mine (but a little of the pain is).
I always look forward to your insights and thoughts.
So thanks :D
