I was born
on a country road
life was simple then
Catching lightening bugs
in jars
and letting them out again
He said it wasn't
poison ivy
why did she turn red
Way back in Ohio
in that country land
I remember when my Dad
brought some baby
chicks home
And Mom was cookin' chickens
cos they wouldn't
lay no more
They were mean ole' things
ate the sandwich
out of my hand
Way back in Ohio
in that country land
We had a sitter
for a while
she always washed her hair
And sledding down hills
that seemed much bigger
way back when
Old cars
that are all classics now
were in the driveway then
Way back in Ohio
in that country land.

06/26/2020Wow, nice. This is (In the photo) sand road, our house was behind the trees on the right, which sadly is no longer there. Out side of Bradner, Ohio on the Fostoria road, a right turn just after an old cemetary. Great memories there.
A farm is a place to be as well, my Grandfather's sister and husband had one. Ive seen pictures of the old canals, would be great if they were working. I guess shiping took over. You have nice memories. The 50's were a good time.
