Worried For Our Weaponry
Born 1973, M, from Ocoee, Florida, United StatesWorried For Our Weaponry
Dark dreary world, filled with weapons of destruction and people anxious to use them.
Laws are created to increase tensions, violence and use of the violent tools.
Misunderstandings, arguments and disagreements are now resolved with deadly force.
No one is held accountable, for it is no longer a crime to murder over a mishap.
Folks fight to resist restrictions on the weapons or the crimes committed with them in the name of standing ground.
Draw first, aim better; my beloved Florida has now become the Wild, Wild West.
America as a whole is out of control, forty-four people shot in fourteen hours in the city of Chicago.
Legal guns, illegal guns, school and mass shootings are on the rise yet we need more.
We need more weapons to fight against the weapons for these two wrongs will certainly make things right.
Worship the weapon, it’s value is greater than some lives, for Guns don’t kill people, people kill people… with guns.
I am said to be a fool because I don’t own the destructive tool, but then again I am never involved in a shoot.
Love, respect and faith makes my world a safe place, because I look to make a friend instead of a foe.
Violence begets violence, respect garners respect, and showing love earns us love in return.
People still fight to gain more weaponry and the right to use them to protect them from their neighbor.
Continue taking an eye for and eye and more will surely die, but at least we’ll still have our GUNS!

08/28/2020I don’t like guns and am glad I live in a country where even the police don’t carry them.
I don’t see any advantage what so ever of owing a piece of metal that can potentially end a life.
It’s so wrong and all countries should pass a law to have the banned.
Great story :-)

08/30/2020I don't want to take away American's rights but I want to live in a safer world. But my ideal world would be the one you speak of where there were no guns.

08/28/2020While it is true that weaponry is a cause for many arguments and much hate and pain, if there is a law made against carrying firearms, will criminals obey that? No! Then, the people with ill intentions are armed, and the innocents are helpless.

08/30/2020I am not against people owning handguns to protect their homes or having rifles for hunting nut the laws need to change. There should be a limit, more stringent background checks, a ban on assault weapons among many other things to save lives. People owning so many guns are not preventing crimes, they are becoming the cause of it. I don't own a gun because I have no desire to harm another person.

08/26/2020Your anger and frustration is shared by many. What is wrong with our society? Yesteryear we used fists for our disagreements and then drank a beer together. Why is there so much hatred and fear? What is the answer?

08/27/2020Gordon, can it be that it was all so simple then? I think we live in a society filled with cowards, so afraid to not have their precious gun to "protect them". Most of the time that I see a gun being used it is to provoke violence not prevent it. A lot of these tough guys wouldn't be so tough if they had to resolve their problems with their hearts, minds or fists.

08/27/2020Thank you Helsa, I like to think of myself as a passivist but I am not quite there yet. I haven't had a violent confrontation in decades and I haven't owned a gun just as long, correlation? I resolve my problems by showing respect and receiving it in return, offering love and accepting, always trying to make a friend before a foe. My mindset and kindness protect me more than any gun could but I will defend myself if someone tried to harm me. #MoreLoveLessGuns

08/14/2020Very good and right, I hate guns and killing. Will be 64 this year, never owned a gun, I put my faith in God. We stand before God in our end, and he knows all. Do not be lead by darkness.

08/27/2020Amen Brother. I stood far more of a risk of getting shot holding a gun than I ever have serving the purpose my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has set for me in this life. I respect the preciousness of this life and I respect the gift, yours, mine and theirs'.

08/12/2020Definitely some wise and thought provoking words. There are no easy answers, but I think you are right that the more people who have guns the more they will be used to solve minor problems that should and could be resolved in better and less deadly ways. It is not only the person who is shot whose life ends, but the shooter's life as well. Guns create more problems and death than they prevent or solve, that's for sure. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the subject, Cam.

08/14/2020I appreciate that Aziz; this is truly a violent world we live in. I wonder how less violent it would be if we didn't all walk around with tools of destruction in our hands.
