For The Love Of Battle

Battles were fought and wars were won,
many were slain in the name of some.
His world was that of strength and grace,
and any foe he would bravely face.
Until one day he came upon,
a village silent as the dawn.
As strange as it seemed to him,
he couldn't help but give a grin.
As there beneath a sakura tree,
sat a beautiful maiden dressed in green.
With pride and skill he did stride,
hoping to peer into her eyes.
But when he gazed at her features,
he saw she was a stunning creature.
Of noble blood she must have been,
so this was a battle he had to win.
Wife to him she would be,
as she sat under the sakura tree.
Little did the warrior know,
how life would be so different though.
No more doing as he pleased,
He realized that his heart was seized.
Her eyes teared and her soul soared,
As she knew that she had won the war.

Life's End

Setting sun with growing shadows,
Life spent like drought kissed fallows.
Soul drowning with regret,
Of many deeds not yet met.
With hope and prayer on the tongue,
A wish to see another setting sun.

Hidden

Was it worth the lies and all the strain,
To keep your truth in secret pain.
No one knew where you'd go,
With stoic face and eyes cast low.
How often did we neglect to see,
The heart that beat inside of thee.
Until one rainy night we followed,
To find you on a bench much sorrowed.
To our great shock and alarm,
We found you in another woman's arms.

Beautiful Thoughts

As I sat and waited, among flowers created,
By one God that is true to be.
In hues of gold and colors most bold,
I wept at the thought of He.
Who does give life, in glory and strife,
And who's blessings are boundless indeed.

Man

With happy heart and saddened eyes,
He looked across the sea.
To where he once so lovingly belonged,
So close to his family.
And now with wife and a whole new life,
He knew what could only be.
To be a great man and protect his clan from all calamity.
