My Pawsome Brother

James was born in a poor family. His mother gone the way of all flesh when he was a toddler. James' father was a poor and an extremely cruel person. James never went to school as his father couldn't pay his fee. James was jobless. No one was willing to hire him because he was illiterate. To get few morsels of bread, he would clean someone's house and emptied trash bins. Sometimes he was lucky to get the opportunity of cleaning plates at the hotels for a few cents. His father continuously criticized him and called him a worthless loser. James himself was a very kind hearted person. One day while walking on the pavement he saw a cute adorable little fluffy puppy covered with dust, searching for food. He took pity on him. He picked up the little dog and took him to his house. He gave him food and water. When his father saw the little puppy, he said:
Hurl it man, we can't afford a pooch in our home. You loser, I am sick and tired of you. You don't have any job. I am bearing your expenses and now you have brought this idiot dog here. Throw him out now!
James replied: Father I will do extra work to make sure my little puppy gets the good treatment. Please I want to keep this dog with me. I assure you, I will not take a penny from u to provide anything to this cute little dog. Please let me keep it with me.
James' father picked up the little puppy and threw it out of the house.
James: Wait, father dont do it.
James came out and picked up the dog.
“Go away, don't enter into my house again,” James' father said.
But father...
James' father shut the door viciously. Then James left with his little dog.
James was sitting on footpath. At first, James thought of leaving the dog there and going away but then he looked at the little white cute puppy that was enjoying sound sleep.
“Such a cute dog, now you are my family.... I'll be with you forever," James uttered.
James went to his friend's house. It was a house by name only. The condition of house was pathetic and perhaps he had never cleaned his house for centuries. Despite having a poor house, James' friend let him stay with him. James' friend was a waiter at a restaurant. He helped James' in getting a waiter job at the restaurant. James started working as a waiter at the restaurant.
Years went on, James continued to work diligently, his friend passed away. Before dying he made James the official owner of his house.
James was living peacefully with his dog. He provided it food, played with it and took it to the park, trained it, taught it different tricks. One day his dog became ill. Perhaps the dog had eaten something queer. He immediately took his dog to the hospital. He spent two days with his dog in the hospital. He was so upset by the incident that he forgot to inform his boss. After two days James went to the restaurant however he was told that his boss had fired him for taking leave without permission. He went to the boss.
The boss said: You've been missing for two days without telling me. I can't afford to have such a careless employee. I don't want you to work with me. It would be better for you to leave.
James said: But sir, my dog was seriously ill. I took him to the hospital and this all happened so suddenly that I forgot to inform you. Sir, please don't fire me from my job.”
“What? You are trying to tell me that your dog became ill and therefore you couldn't come to the restaurant. You idiot! Get out! Go take care of your stupid dog now; I don't want you to come into my office and my restaurant again. Just leave.... Boss shouted.
“Behave yourself sir, don't call my dog stupid. He is my family. He is not my dog, he is my life. You don't want me to work with you, it's fine, I will go, but don't you insult my dog. James replied and left after saying this. James' boss was stunned and thought, 'How stupid and insane this man is!'
James went to the hospital, his dog was fine. He hugged his dog and brought him back to the house. James took extra care of his dog. James sat in front of his dog and said: From now and onwards your name is Jack and you are not my dog, you are my younger brother. He played with his dog and taught him different skills.
The days went on, one day James was sitting on the sofa, a little disappointed regarding his job. All of a sudden, he watched an ad on television.
The ad was: Mr. Richardson (the richest person of the town and a dog lover) is organizing a dog competition. If you think your dog has the guts to participate, come join us. The lucky winner will be awarded with $1 million cash prize. We reiterate $1 million cash prize. All your dog has to do is to surpass the hurdles and win the race. What are you waiting for? Hurry, apply now, and pay $1000 to get registered. Entry to the competition will be closed tonight at 11:00 pm.
“Wow! It is a great opportunity; I should register my dog (Jack) immediately for this competition, James thought.
Then he remembered that he did not have $1000. All he had were merely $500 in his savings. He thought from where he could arrange $500 more to pay the registration fee. At last he went to his neighbour, told him all the matter and requested him to give him $500 as a loan. Firstly his neighbour hesitated, but then he gave him $500 as a loan.
James immediately filled the form and got his dog registered for the competition. The contest was in two days. James trained his dog; he put extra effort in it. While training his dog, James injured his leg, though the bone was not broken, yet he used a crutch to walk but he continued to train his dog. At last, the big day came. James was a little bit anxious but he tried to keep himself calm. He took his dog to the arena where the competition was organised.
After few minutes, the dog race started. James was cheering his dog's name, Jack! Jack, do it boy! Jack ran as fast as he could. He jumped over all the hurdles skillfully and reached the finish line first.
The commentator announced, I have never seen such a skilled dog in my entire life. Congratulations! Our winner is Jack. We request the owner of this dog to come up on the stage to receive a cheque of $1 million.”
James came and received the cheque from Mr. Richardson. While giving the cheque Mr. Richardson said to James, Congratulations! Man, your dog performed very well. You have trained your dog well. I would request you to let your dog participate in future competitions as well.”
James was pleased. James hugged Jack.
The years went on; Jack participated in many competitions and won. James had bought a beautiful house and a nice car. James even bought the restaurant from where he was fired. He became its owner. Mr. Mathew, who had fired James, came to him and offered an apology. James accepted his apology and said: "Animals also deserve love and kindness. Never ever be rude to any dog or any other animal.”
James' father came to meet him. His father offered an apology and told him that he did not have any house to live in. He had to sell it to get money for his kidney and heart surgery. James heard his father's apology patiently. James was so kind hearted that he even forgave his father. He also allowed his father to live with him and his dog, Jack. His father also made an apology to Jack. Then they continued to live peacefully.
