A Poem - Christmas For Real

A snowman came to life to be our friend
Santa delivering presents; hope it never ends
Put a stamp on a letter; to the North Pole send
A reindeer with a red nose flying like the wind
But, we know all those stories are just pretend
There’s a true story in the bible that God himself penned

A savior was born in a little, shabby stable
Announced to good shepherds by one of God’s angels
It seemed he was destined to be crowned a king
But not of this world, or of worldly things

Accepting the savior; repenting our sins
Cleansed in Christ’s blood means life without end
Proclaiming God’s son to those willing to hear
Faithfully keeping the Holy Spirit near

But, to accept and repent isn’t all that we need
In those who are around us, we must plant the seed
Don't light a lantern, but still live in darkness
We must ensure that everyone sees our Savior in us

When he rose from the dead, angels shouted out with joy
And, no, there’s nothing wrong with gifting a child a toy
But, remember to teach them of the Son’s sacrifice
God’s greatest gift to them whether naughty or nice
