A Robbery
In the cold winter evenings, an old man of age 68 was sitting in the front of fire in his house, having a cup of tea in his hand and a lot of memories in his mind for recalling. He lived alone in his house in Toronto, a Canadian state. His wife passed away two years ago and he had three sons and two daughters. All of them were married and living their lives with their own families leaving old man alone at his home. In the cold winters night he was sittings in his house and snow was falling outside the window. He was sitting on his relaxing chair and he was happy as at this age he owned everything, money, house, cars, and insurances. That is impossible for any simple citizen to own at this time of age. His family was settled happily in their lives because of him. And he was one of the well reputed person of the state naming Alex.
He was taking his tea and remembering his old days and he went into deep thoughts and old memories. In the past when he belonged to a poor family and he owned nothing. And he was a thief. He used to depredate people’s houses and also hacking bank accounts for fulfilling their needs. His memory reminds him of his last theft that became the key towards his success. He was happy as how easy was all that for him to get money and how easily he become the well reputed person of the society. Instantly his mind went towards his hometown that was the same city where he looted the last house years ago. He decided to visit his home town. And he booked his ticket to visit his hometown that was a far distant city.
He went there. He visited his house and people around as well. He was happy to see his old things. He went out to see the markets of his city. While leaving for the market he went across the same house which he looted for the last time. The house was painted black, that symbolized that we have no connection to the society or they have been boycotted from the society. The house was locked. That seemed very unusual to him and he inquired to the people around about them telling the people that he is their relative and came here for visiting them. People tell him the whole story what had happened to the family. They tell him that someone looted this house one night before the marriage of elder daughter of Mr. Max. And they looted everything so that they were left with nothing. Their daughter’s marriage was canceled because of that robbery because they were left with nothing to give in dowry to their daughter. They were as poor as after robbery there was nothing to eat even at their home. And due to this shock that his daughter’s marriage has been canceled, father died due to heart attack. Max had no son. He was the only breadwinner of the family. His elder daughter whose marriage had been canceled then became the breadwinner of the family and took each and every responsibility of her family. As she belonged to a poor family, she was uneducated. And she found no ways to earn for her family and she became a prostitute for saving her family’s life. After six months they were hardly living their life when people of the area came to know that she is a prostitute. They denied to accept her and her family’s presence in their area. For a girl being a prostitute should be rewarded with death. They locked that family in their house with no basic needs and left them to die. They shrieked for help but no one helped them or not even opened them. And all of them died in the house and after that people colored that house black.
After hearing that story the person was shocked that his one act went so deep that it took the lives of a whole family. He left the place without saying a single word. He went back to his home. He was in deep shock. He locked himself in the room for two days. He was crying and shrieking badly because of guilt. He stayed in the same situation for few days. He was dying with guilt that his one shameful act destroyed a lot of lives. He went out of his senses. He wanted to come out of his guilt but he was not finding any way for this. Finally he decided to finish himself as he was not finding a way to make amends anyway. He went to the top hill and he stand at the top for one hour. he looked into the deep pit but found nothing but himself as a murderer and he jumped into the deep pit. And he was dead. He committed suicide because of his guilt as he destroyed the life of a whole family.

01/05/2021Your story is a very tragic tale of how greed, theft, and wrong doing can have far reaching and devastating consequences beyond what one might imagine could happen. The moral behind your story, and the cautionary tale, make it a worthwhile and interesting read. However, your story has some errors and shortcomings which detract from the good impact it might otherwise have. First, you set your story in Canada, but in Canada they do not kill people for prostitution or adultery, nor paint their houses black. It sounds like something that could happen in some other country or culture, but not in Canada, so that part of your story makes it unbelievable. Also, the guilt the old man felt was surely justified, after learning of all the pain and death he caused, and not having any way to make it up to the family he destroyed. However, since he had a lot of wealth he could have at least found a worthy cause to donate his fortune to, or created a foundation to help those in need, in the name of the family who died. Killing himself did no good for anyone and was therefore a bad solution to his grief and guilt, and did not provide a good lesson for others who might at some point feel guilt for their own past crimes.
