The Upstairs Neighbor
The upstairs neighbor is shuffling,

A source of annoyance, it’s true,

For the constant noise, there’s no muffling,

The assault, through plugged ears, doth come through.

The upstairs neighbor is stomping,

Through the floor; the ceiling; my head,

The chronic nocturnal romping,

Has killed my sanity dead.

The upstairs neighbor is running,

His feet drumming naught but the street,

For my joyful laughing and funning,

Compel his rhythmic drum beat.

The upstairs neighbor is screaming,

It’s disturbing in entirely new ways,

There’s truth now in all I’ve been dreaming,

Over obsessed and poisonous days.

The upstairs neighbor is slumbering,

It’s the quietest he’s ever been,

Thus ends his belligerent lumbering,

As I sit and feast on his spleen.

I came back after months to read your poem Jason....and somehow I knew it would end in hilarious gore.

And yet , it didn't take the fun out of it!

I missed your demented writing!
