Days Of Death
Born 2008, M, from Levin, New ZealandIt was the 78th day of quarantine. I was visiting New Zealand just as the outbreak started. little did I know when I would arrive it would be much worse when I got to the airport. there were police everywhere and what seemed like thousands of people. "all citizens please stay calm and go to the covid testing room on the right, we will be testing everyone" said a lady over the airport's massive speakers. everyone rushed to the room on the right. it was like a stampede. finally after what felt like forever I was finally tested. when they tested me the man looked puzzled. "uhhhh" said the covid tester, "I think we have a problem". after 5 minutes of waiting a loud voice came over the speakers, this time it was a males voice, "everyone evacuate immediately". just then a man with a hazmat suit came up to me and said "you have tested positive for covid-19". they then took me to a room, but this room had no windows, a metal door, and a single bed. every day they came in to test me for covid-19 and every single time it said i still had it. sometimes they would take my blood for testing as well. on about day 50 they gave me a note pad so i would not get bored and that's where I am now. just then a man in a hazmat suit came in and tested me for covid-19 again, but this time it said that i no longer had the virus. "that cant be right" said the man in the hazmat suit "it says you are negative for covid-19" "but you cant just wait covid-19 out". he tested me about 7 more times, but the same thing every time, negative. they finally let me free and i am now a free man. but just as i walked out the doors i wanted to go back into the room because i saw a tv with a lady on it saying "today's covid-19 cases count is 15,379,069. but I still left with a smile on my face. I was now a free man.

02/07/2021I enjoyed your story, but it would be really nice if you would take the time and care to proofread and correct your writing before you submit your stories to the world of readers to be judged. Punctuation and proper English grammar and spelling can make a HUGE difference in whether a reader enjoys your story or not, or even whether they bother to read it. Normally i would not bother to read a story with so many errors, because it tells me that the writer does not care about their writing very much. So if they don't care, why should I? However, because of the subject of your story, and the fact it was very short, I decided to read it. As site admin, when I take the time to read a story I also make corrections to the story as I read... if I think it will help the story be better appreciated by other readers. I don't correct everything, just the things that help the story be easier to read and understand. Like adding periods at the end of sentences, and commas between parts of a sentence that are separate. So I did make a lot of corrections to this story as I read it. I think it will be easier for other readers to appreciate now. However, you should be the one to make the corrections to your own story before you publish it. You should do it for your reader's sake, and for your own too, if you want others to appreciate your story enough to give you a high rating. I hope you keep writing, but I also hope that you try your best to do better at fixing your writing mistakes so they don't prevent others from enjoying your stories.

02/07/2021Interesting story. I just saw a post on my FB from a friend that arrived in Auckland and police emerged onto the plane and escorted them all on to a bus heading for quarantine in the Waikato.
We are fairly buffeted in New Zealand from what is happening around the world. Aren’t we so lucky.
You put your story together well. A very long time in quarantine would drive anyone crazy.
Well done :-)
