She sits there with a feeling of emptiness. She stands and drives away, not feeling understood. She sits and expresses verbally, laughs temporarily, and sings instead for a distraction. She walks into the abysmal night, returning to a life where she puts a smile on her face. I watch her walk away, not knowing love is right behind her. She wants to see but doesn’t know-how, wants to be seen but feels invisible, longing for freedom to express her inner desires, but doubt has captured her. She is lost and living a life of environmentally influenced captivity, trapped in what everyone else envisioned her life to be. She continues to walk even though she knows the unhappiness it will deliver. I watch her walk away into the dreadful night, feeling alone and unloved. She walks unaware of the love that stands right behind her and has stood right before her. She denies it, and then she turns away. She wants more but doesn’t know how to find the substance to fill that void, to fill that emptiness. My heart aches and reaches for her, deafness by the silence of the night has taken control of her. She never hears my heart singing to her. She is torn between a life of what she truly wants, her present and past, and the unknowns of the future. She sings, laughs, and plays as each second of twenty-four hours goes by. She wants to be rescued, to feel freedom, to sigh in relief, and feel the air passes through and fill her lungs. She wants, but doubts have taken her in captivity, and all I can do is watch her walk away into the dreadful night.
