The Elder and Younger Wolves
Born 1960, F, from San Antonio Texas, United States.jpeg)
The Wolf howled at the Moon. In truth he was grieving his dead Mate. For three days ago two poachers had killed her. He had tried to take them down but one of the hunters had shot him too. His wound was superficial and he made his escape back to his pack.
When he arrived the other Wolves went about cleaning and caring for him. After this cleansing the Elder Wolf asked him what had happened. He told him, “Two Humans killed my Mate. We were only foraging for small game, we were not aggressive and we would not have attacked them. I tried to fend them off but, one of the Humans wounded me, so I came back.”
The Elder Wolf cautioned, “You must not harm the Humans, for they will come in packs and kill anything and everything to avenge one of their own.” The younger Wolf was angry and said, “But we do nothing to them why must they kill us?”
The Elder Wolf told him, “There is a prophesy of old that says Humans will be their own downfall. They will kill each other and then the World will belong to the Animals.” The younger Wolf asked, “But by the time the Humans are gone will there be anything left for us?” The Elder Wolf sighed, “Only time will tell.”

04/13/2021If animals could only talk, how very severely they would all condenn us! At the rate we are going, time is already telling us what it intends to tell us.
