Sibyl, a ten year old girl, walked the streets of Washington, Seattle. The afternoon was dark, and damp, for the most predicted thunderstorm had decided to come on this particular Thursday. Sibyl jumped in the puddles, with her shiny green boots, until she approached a very old run-down store. She stood on her toes and peeked in, and saw the shelves were filled with knick knacks of all sorts. Sibyl was being raised by parents, who worked until late at night. So, Sibyl was never really properly watched. But, she knew, that by entering the store, that she would be breaking her family’s number one rule. Never go into any stores, without a parent present. Sibyl was tempted, and disregarded any common sense, and let her curiosity get the best of her.
When she walked into the antique store, an elderly woman stood at the front. She smiled and said, “Feel free to play with any items I might have, just be gentle.” Sibyl nodded her head. “WAIT!” the woman shouted. Her voice booming like thunder. “I have one rule, do not play with the glass-doll in the back of the store..” She added. Sibyl didn’t pay much attention to this rule, for she was excited to go and play. Sibyl walked off, and then looked back, and the woman was no longer there.
Sibyl admired the rusty teapots, dusty books, and used toys. She played for hours it seemed like, until she stopped in her tracks. “Come play with me little girl” an eerie voice whispered. “Hello? Ma’am is that you?” Sibyl shouted. No response. Sibyl shrugged. ‘Must’ve been my imagination.’ she thought. Then a few minutes later, “Come play with me little girl.” the same voice said, a little louder. “Where are you!?” Sibyl demanded. “In the back of the store,” the voice answered.
Sibyl, forgetting the woman’s warning, hurried to the back of the store, where the lights were flickering, and there was only one dusty wooden shelf, that looked like it hadn’t been touched for years. On that shelf, sat a beautiful glass doll, with long black hair, and chestnut eyes. Sibyl grabbed for the doll, and put her hands in her hair. The dolls' eyes glowed. “Oh!” Sibyl exclaimed. The doll’s resting face, turned into a malicious smile. Sibyl screamed one last time, and then disappeared.
It was soon closing time, and when the elderly woman was turning off all the lights, a little girl about the age of 10, came walking out. “I think I’d like to keep this doll, it’s rather beautiful don’t you think.” the girl said. The woman nodded her head, and then looked up. She screamed in horror. “Fra-Fra-Frances?” the woman stuttered. “Why Hazel, so nice to see you again, as you can clearly see, when you’re a glass doll you don’t age.” Frances said. “I don’t think it was very nice of you, to trap your own twin sister!” Frances taunted. “Frances, you were doing evil! All the magic, in this store, would’ve been destroyed, if you would've been here all these years.” Hazel responded. “Think about what mom and dad would say, if that happened.” Hazel added. “MOM AND DAD ARE GONE!” Frances screamed out in anger. “Luckily for me, Hazel, I know how to fight fire with fire.” She calmed down a bit and said.
Frances pulled out a hat box from a nearby shelf, and opened it up. Hazel tried to fight back, but her soul was taken, and trapped inside the box. “My friends from the ghost realm, will give me a good bid for this one.” Frances said to herself. She looked down, forgetting about the doll. “Oh, she was such a pretty girl, should’ve known sooner, that curiosity killed the cat.” Frances snapped her fingers, and the antique shoppe disappeared along with a young girl named Frances, a hat box with a soul, and a forbidden glass doll.
