A Story Of Two Friends

John and David are two close friends whose thoughts and views significantly differed from each other on various aspects of life but despite these, they never quarreled and maintained a brotherhood relationship. They resided at an apartment situated at the heart of the city of Buckingham in London. Coming to their personalities, John was a bit dynamic and hot-tempered by nature but his friend David was a cool and flippant person.

However close, two friends or brothers maybe, if one of them hurts other out of aggression and haste, that creates a rift in the relationship between the two.

In this story also, one can see how John loses his cool for a silly reason and fires at David.

One day they step out to dine alfresco to beat the banality of life. David locks the door and checks out with John. After returning home, they are flabbergasted to see their door lock broken and descry the loss of valuables including the personal effects. It is perspicuous from the scenario, that the theft has taken place. In no time, John blames David and excoriates him for showing a cavalier attitude towards the door bolting.

David counters John's statements by telling him that it wasn’t his mistake as the problem lay with the door lock itself. But John turns a deaf ear to all his explanations and tells him to part from him as he’s no more interested in continuing friendship.

David finds this a bit imbecile and ludicrous and steps out of the house with his luggage to shift to the nearby hostel. The entire atmosphere becomes brimmed with pandemonium and the years of friendship come to rest.

John intimates the cops about the incident at the police station and requests them to investigate the case. The policemen head-onto his house to sort out the problem.

Left in a state of exasperation, John earnestly waits for great tidings from the cops. In the meanwhile, they find a purse lying on the floor interspersed with clothes while rummaging the entire house for the want of evidence. The fingerprints' impression on it throws a tremendous intensity of light to them and with this clue; they motion to chase the suspect under the aegis of forensic experts. Ultimately they apprehend the thief and recuperate valuables including some of their personal effects from him to hand over to John.

Further developments appurtenant to the case get published in one of the leading chronicles that catch the attention of David later. David feels extremely happy but is in no mood to patch up with his pal anymore. On the other hand, a strong sense of guilt persuades John to meet his friend. He realizes his mistake and regrets turning a sweet friendship into enmity with David especially when he discovers that the lock which he gave him was a defective one with screws loosened within it instead of the one that he usually preferred to lock the door.
Accordingly, John goes to the hostel to meet David to mollify the situation but the latter is in no mood to see his face rather there was an air of jaded sullenness in him. He eschews talking to John. In a trembling voice, whimpered John “Dear me” I have realized what a big blunder I had committed without pondering over the issue twice by fulminating against you. Therefore, I beg your pardon and request you to take stock of the situation without plunging headlong to any decision. John breaks down and hugs David tightly. David feels the pinch of the emotions of his friend and agrees to join him. John expresses his gratitude to him for understanding the matter and both return home.

The story’s moral: Jumping to the conclusion without introspection of the situation leads to shambles.
