“There is something different about you.”
I nodded in agreement.
“I can’t put my finger on it though. You just seem different.”
I nodded again.
“I am different. I am an Alien.”
She laughed out loud.
“You can’t be! You look just like us (waving her hand at the people enjoying the party).”
“That’s because we do look exactly like you folks... on my World.”
Even without having had two drinks in twenty minutes, the poor girl's mind would have been just as confused.
“But I can sense you are different.”
I sighed.
“That is because a part of your brain recognizes that we are different. We use Magic on my world, not Science.”
“Magic? Like Magicians? You do tricks?”
I smiled back at her.
“No, we don’t do tricks. We use Magic where you would use Science or technology.”
“Well, can you show me some Magic?”
“Sure, like what?”
She scrunched up her face…and then broke into a big smile.
“Turn me into a Frog!”
“What? Why in any way shape or form would you want to be a frog?!”
“Because Frogs get to be Princesses or a Prince when they get kissed.”
Well, it wasn’t my Planet…and I didn’t know their customs. So I turned her into a frog. Her wine glass must have spooked her when it hit the floor next to her. She must have jumped at least six feet away. She hopped around in circles until she fell exhausted. A guy came over and said:
“A frog? How the hell did a frog get in here?”
Before I could reply, he turned and threw her (the frog) over a fence into some woods.
I looked at him bewildered.
“I think she was expecting a kiss.”
He stared at me for a while.
“Are you drunk?”
“No.”
He walked away. I looked over at the fence. I heard a croaking sound.
