Felix The Fox(Triston Stewart) In The Beginning

One day in the mountains in Colorado, next to a campground, there was a fox den on the side of a trail going towards the campground. A mile down the path were some cabins. In the fox den, there was a mother named Ashlee and a kit named Felix. Ashlee didn’t like people getting so close to the den because Felix was only a week old. The only person that was able to get close to the den was a little girl named Emily. Emily would always bring scraps to the den so that Ashlee would not leave Felix alone for too long of periods at a time.

Two weeks later a fire broke out from the campsite and was spreading fast. Many people were scared because the campground was not too far away from the den. Ashlee was trying to get out of the den with Felix but a burning tree fell in front of the den blocking the way out. It took two days to put out the fire. Ashlee was killed because of the smoke. Felix was now alone.


A New Home

Felix was walking down the path and then he wanted to take a trip into the forest. he wanted to go to some places that he had never been before. When in the forest he went down to the nearby stream to get a drink and try to hunt some fish like his mom had taught him when he was young. As a fox kit, he used to love to go hunting like his mom, she was his inspiration. Felix had got a drink, caught some fish, and started heading back to the den. After he arrived at the den the sky started to get dark and then out of the corner of his eye he saw a light further down the path. It was Emily who was coming to check on him to see how he was doing after his mother had passed away. Emily looked much different than he had remembered as he was young. Emily asked, “would you like to come to stay with me.” Felix then started walking down the road to his new home.


A New Friend

A week has passed and Felix has been getting used to his new home, but he knew that he couldn’t stay there. Emily was getting too attached to Felix being there but knew that one day he would have to depend on himself to survive without her, she had to let him go. Felix was sleeping on his bed that Emily had got him when he caught the scent of a fruity aroma. The aroma was a fruit pie that Emily had baked when he was asleep. Emily gave Felix a slice of pie, then she took him to a spot in the woods to let him live without anyone getting too attached. Felix was alone again. Felix went walking down by the river bed when he got the feeling that he was being watched by someone or something. Felix looked in the tree line behind him and he saw what had been watching him. It was a bobcat kitten. Felix and the kitten soon started playing. They are now friends.


The Journey Begins

Felix was playing with his new friend when they were getting hungry from all of the roughhousing. Felix wanted to stay with his new friend longer but he knew he had to find shelter before nightfall. Felix said goodbye to his new friend then he went to find shelter. Felix was walking down the path when he saw an abandoned fox den he knew would be a good place to sleep even if it is just temporary. Felix was bringing some berries into his home when he saw the shadow of someone or something in the doorway. It was a shadow of a fox who had just returned back to her den, but she looked like she was younger than him or at most the same age as him. Felix walked up to the strange fox to try to introduce himself. The fox was startled and ran into the tree line. Felix was confused about what happened, did he do something wrong to scare her off, or was it just the fact that he was a stranger in what had to be her home. Felix knew what he had to do, he had to find the other fox.


A Happy Ending

Felix was on his search for the mystery fox when he picked up a scent that he had never smelled before. It was around the entrance of the den going into the forest, it must be her. Felix followed the scent and it led him to a hill right next to some sort of spring. Felix had never been on this side of the mountain before so he didn’t know what dangers could be lurking in the shadows. Felix went behind the spring and playing there was his friend the cougar kitten and the mystery fox Felix asked to join the fun and they agreed. Felix was not alone anymore; his friends moved into the den with him where a new life began. The mystery fox’s name was Scarlett, she and Felix created a family of their own and they lived happily ever after.
