The year was 1246 in the northern parts of Scandinavia where the enormous mountains stood tall and strong like a soldier and the clouds covered beneath the mountains. A large white tailed eagle flies through the wide-open river stream through the heavy fog and pass the large enormous mountain ranges that stands on the ocean. The eagle soars through a Viking island, where the Vikings are building weapons with their gadgets and tools, building canoes out of wood, practicing their fighting skills with each other, and sail out into the ocean with their large enormous sail canoes as they release the sails from the high beams of the sail canoe. The island is filled with village huts made of both stone and wood, all organized in a straight line, right next to each other and are placed on each and every hill top of the entire island. In the middle of the city stands the gigantic statues of the Viking gods such as Oden, Thor, and Loki standing next to each other and are made of solid stone as well as they are 50 stories high. The island itself was very enormous, vast, and wide, accompanied by the trees, bushes, and grass that surrounds the village. The eagle follows the sail canoes into the wide-open ocean as the waves of the water calmly toss the canoes from the shores to the great reef.
On an isolated canoe boat near the Scandinavian village, a young 25 year old Viking fisherman named Gorvan grabs a fishing net made of rope and throws it into the water as he holds the rope attached to the net. Gorvan is wearing a vest made of brown bear fur, a cape made of a fur a wild boar, and a Viking helmet with short horns on it. On the boat with him is his pet goat named Yohan, eating one of his maps while looking into the water with Gorvan. The young Viking asks with curiousity, “You think we’ll find something new, Yohan?”
Yohan makes a bleating noise in response.
“Me neither.” Gorvan begins to sigh, “It’s the same old thing over and over again. One minute you thought that you would be fighting into battle with the other Vikings, the next minute some idiot thought it would be a good idea for me to catch some fish for a living, just to, ‘have some experience’ and I’m standing right next to a goat who doesn’t understand a word I’m saying and IS EATING ALL OF MY FINEST MAPS!!!!” Yohan belches loudly with his mouth wide open. “Ehh, whatever, it is what it is. Maybe I’ll catch something new or that I might catch the same boring useless thing that I find over and over again. Fishes! Eh, whatever happens, just happens.”
Suddenly, Gorvan catches something into his net, “Whoah! Feels like a big one!” The Viking fisherman reels up the net and find a school of fish squirming inside the net. Gorvan sees something golden and shiny into the net. Gorvan responds with curiosity, “What?” The Viking fisherman throws the net into the canoe boat and opens it, searching through the fishes with Yohan searching along with him. When pass through the twelfth fish, Yohan spots the shining golden object and makes a loud bleating sound. Gorvan discovers the object as it reveals to be a golden Viking helmet with two long razor sharp horns on it. Gorvan glares at it with curiosity and amusement, “Whoah, look at this. I’ve never seen a golden helmet like this before. Maybe it must be from the chief himself, or maybe it must be a gift from the gods or something.” Gorvan holds the shining golden helmet by the horns and rises up to the quarter of his eye. “Or maybe it belonged to somebody.” Gorvan looks over towards the open ocean while raising the golden helmet in the air and yells, “HEY! DID SOMEBODY LOOSE THIS HELMET?!! HELLO!! SOMEBODY! ANYBODY! I HAVE YOUR HELMET!!! PLEASE COME AND GET IT! HELLO! ANYONE!!”
Gorvan looks into the shining golden helmet curiously again and continues, “I wonder if something like this is worth a millions of taxes or something and I doubt if this even looks good on me. But then again, this does look a lot better than this one I’m wearing now. What do you think, Yohan?” The goat bleats in response and nods his head ‘no’. “Well,” Gorvan responds, “Lets see and find out.” Gorvan takes off the old helmet and gently puts the golden helmet, which causes a bright golden light to shine and flash across the entire area of the canoe, pushing Yohan to the other side of the canoe. Gorvan opens his eyes and sees the golden helmet resting on his head. “Huh, seems to fit pretty nicely, ay Yohan?” Yohan stares at Gorvan for one minute and nods his head ‘no’. “Yeah, your probably right, it doesn’t look that good on me.” Gorvan grabs the helmet by the horns and is about to get the helmet off of his head until he struggles to get it off his head. “What the?” Gorvan pulls harder and harder to get the helmet off his head as he grabs it by the horns. “What’s going on here?!” Gorvan continues to pull the helmet off his head. “It’s stuck!!!” Gorvan grabs his battle-axe and it hits the helmet as hard as he can to get it off his head, but the helmet doesn’t budge. “How in Thor’s name could this happen?!!!” Gorvan puts the tip blade of the battle-axe underneath the helmet and tries to pull it off of his head until the tip blade of the battle-axe bends over without scratching his head. Gorvan groans with frustration, “Oh Thor almighty! Yohan, would you mind?” Yohan Gorvan bends his upper body towards Yohan. The goat makes a bleating sound and head buds the helmet multiple times with his horns, trying to bust the helmet off his head until he becomes tired and out of breath. “Well? ANYTHING?!!!” Gorvan asks. Yohan nods his head ‘no’. “Uuh, try biting it off my head! See if you can get it off!” Yohan sniffs the helmet, grabs it by the left horn with his teeth and tries to pull it away from him until he drops and flips himself off the helmet and to the other side of the canoe boat. Gorvan looks up to the golden helmet and says, “Ok, we have a major problem.” The Viking fisherman looks over the ocean and instead of seeing a reflection of himself, he sees a reflection of a different man with broad shoulders, bigger muscles, silver breastplate, a giant mustache and beard, an enormous fur cape on his back, and his body glows brightly like the sun. The figure is wearing the same golden helmet with two long razor sharp horns. Gorvan looks at the reflection the same way the reflection looks at him and ponders, “Huh, that’s odd, why do I look like the mighty Thor?”
Suddenly, Gorvan hears the sound of a Viking war horn; he picks his head up to see where it came from and sees a group of Vikings on a long sailing canoe. One of the Vikings points his finger towards Gorvan and shouts, “HEY LOOK, IT’S THE MIGHTY THOR!!!!” The Vikings raises their weapens in the air and begins to cheer with excitement as they sail pass Gorvan.
The Viking fisherman begins to look confused and said, “What? I’m not Thor! HEY GUYS, YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG! I’M NOT THOR!!! I AM NOT THO-…Eh, forget it, your too far, your gone.” Gorvan sighs and turns to Yohan, “Must have been drunk or something, ay?” Yohan bleats in response and nods his head ‘yes’. “You’re telling me. Oh well, I may not know how to get this stupid helmet off my head, but I know someone who will.” Gorvan grabs the rope of the canoe ship, “Alright bud, Lets back to the village. Next stop, Scandinavia!” Gorvan pulls the rope with his sail wide open and steers to the left side of the fjord and sails back to the isle of Scandinavia.
Gorvan and Yohan arrive to the shore of the island and places down a wooden stair-like latter as they walk down the latter-like steps with Gorvan carrying a net full of fishes in his hand and with Yohan lifting the net with his horns. “Can you believe those sailors?” said Gorvan, “pointing and cheering to me like I’m some sort of warrior God?” Yohan bleats in response. Gorvan laughs, “And to think someone would see me with this helmet and confuse me as-
“THE MIGHTY THOR!!!!!” shouts Viking villager as he points to Gorvan, “HE’S HERE!!!!”
“OUR CHAMPIAN OF CHAMPIANS!!!!” shouts the other Viking villager.
“WELCOME TO THE MORTAL WORLD, OH GREAT ONE!!!” shouts the third Viking villager as all the Vikings of the island walks to Gorvan with such enthusiasm and excitement.
“What?!!” Gorvan asks, “Are you serious!” All the Vikings of the island gather towards Gorvan as he makes his way towards the village with the fishing net in his hand but then stops when they crowd over him. “Hey, hey, hey, guys not too much! Your in my way!”
“What brings you back to earth, Thor?” asked the one of the Vikings.
“Aren’t you supposed to be back in Valhalla?” asked the Viking woman
“No!” the Viking man responds, “He’s from Asgard!”
“Oh that’s right, he’s the God of lightning! My bad.”
“Are you delivering a message to us?” asked one of the Viking men
“Or smite us for our misbehavior?” asked the third Viking man
“No! Absolutely not!” Gorvan answered, “Come on guys! It’s me, Gorvan! Ya know, the fat lazy Viking who’s been moping all the time! The one who travels with a goat! The Viking chief’s nephew! The lonely fisherman! Does any of that ring a bell?!!!”
“That doesn’t matter anymore!” The Viking villager said, “You are the one who can save us from all dangers! You are the one who can lead us into victory and prosperity! You are the answer to all of our prayers! You are the one true god of lightening and thunderstorms! YOU ARE THE MIGHTY THOR!!!”
“Okay, wow!” Gorvan remarks, sarcastically, “All of you people have drown yourselves in so much beer!”
“Now we must bow to your glory, oh great one!” The Vikings kneels on their knees and bows to him in respect.
“Hey-hey, guys, Stop that! Stop that! Stop bowing to me! I’m not Thor! I just got this stupid helmet stuck to my head! And I can’t get it off!”
Gorvan’s friend/roommate, Berkheart, who appears to be wearing a vest and a Viking helmet, runs through the crowd and approaches toward Gorvan and says, “Hey, what did I miss?”
“Berkheart, oh thank the gods you’re here! Could you tell these people I’m not Thor?”
“I didn’t get any offerings for you but I have this roasted turkey leg instead.” Berkheart grabs a turkey leg out of his pocket and lends it to Gorvan. “That way you can eat well when you preform your lightning magic.”
“Lightning magic?!! Oh no, not you too!”
“I’d be willing to serve you, oh great mighty powerful Thor.” Berkheart kneels on their knees and bows to him in respect.
“WOULD YOU ALL STOP WORSHIPING ME FOR TEN SECONDS?!!!!!!!” Gorvan shouts, “MY NAME IS NOT THOR!!!!! ITS GORVAN!!! GOR-VAN!!!!”
“Wait, can Gods change their names?”
Gorvan face palms himself with his hands on his eyes and groans in anger and then speaks slowly yet surely, “I’m not a god, I’m just a mortal, just like all of you.”
“Not with that golden helmet your not,” said one of the Vikings.
“Are you serious?!”
“Yeah,” Berkheart added, “Only a true Norse god can wear a helmet that golden and that shinny. And no better god to fit that helmet than you, god of lightning.”
“That’s ridiculous! I don’t have powers! I don’t have immortality! I’m not even a god!” A lightning bolt shoots out from Gorvan’s finger and shocks one of the sea gulls to death. The Viking villagers gasp in a shock-like mannor. Gorvan looks surprised and shocked with his eyes wide opened, “Wha-…did you-… did you guys see that?!”
“That must be the example of your power!” added the Viking villager.
“Or the example of your anger!” said the Viking woman.
Another Viking woman points her finger at Gorvan and shouts, “OUR GOD IS ANGRY AT US!”
The third Viking man in front of the crowd kneels on his knees closes his hands together and cried, “PLEASE FORGIVE US, OH GREAT ONE!” The Vikings of the village kneels on their knees and begs Gorvan for forgiveness.
Gorvan begins to look nervous and said, “O-Okay, this has got to be a dream! I-I must be dreaming! I gotta wake myself up!” Gorvan runs to the shore and splashes water into his face as he says to himself, “Come on! Wake up! Wake up, Gorvan! Wake up!” As soon as Gorvan stops splashing, he sees a reflection himself as Thor, instead of his true self. Gorvan looks shocked, “Oh my gods! The villagers weren’t crazy, everyone sees me as the lightning god, Thor! And it’s because of this stupid golden helmet I’m wearing!”
Berkheart walks behind Gorvan and said, “My lord, is everything alright?”
Gorvan turns over to the crowd of Viking villagers and said, “Everyone, I have an announcement to make.” The Viking villagers begin to stand on there two feet and looks at Gorvan as they capture his attention. “Okay, it appears that this golden helmet is stuck and glued to my head and I can’t get it off so…” Gorvan sighs, “Your mighty Thor commands that whoever gets the helmet off of my head gets to have…uh… anything you want.”
“Anything?”
“Anything.”
“Could it be that golden helmet your wearing?” asked the villager.
“Yes!”
“Could it be a new battle axe?” asked the second villager.
“Yeah of course.”
“A new battle shield?” asked the Viking woman.
“Yes! Anything!”
“Eternal life?” asked the one of third Viking villager
“True love?” asked the fourth Viking villager
“Strength of ten men?!” asked the fifth Viking villager
Gorvan answers, “Look I can get you anything you want, alright! Just get this stupid helmet off of my head!” Berkheart grabs the golden helmet by the horns and tries to pull it off of his head. The other Vikings pitch in grabs the horns on the helmet and struggles to pull the helmet off of his head. Berkheart and the Vikings pulls harder and harder to get the helmet off of his head until they become tired and out of breath. “Anything?!!!”
“I’m afraid not.” Berkheart answered, “It’s glued on there pretty tight.”
“Well…see if you can break it off.” Berkheart unsheathes his battle-ax and bangs it on the golden helmet several times until the tip of the horns on the helmet sparks into a lightning bolt and strikes towards the battle-axe, pushing Berkheart away from him. One of the Vikings unsheathes his sword and strikes towards the golden helmet, trying to hit it off of his head until the helmet strikes the sword away with a lightning bolt. A Viking woman stretches her arrow towards the helmet with a long bow and shoots towards it until the arrow bounces off the helmet and then bounces all over the area with the Vikings docking their heads until it hits into one of the Vikings in the eye and screams.
“Sorry!” said the Viking woman.
A large Viking grabs a giant club and runs towards Gorvan with a war cry. Gorvan screams and then the large Viking hits Gorvan with his club, knocking Gorvan into the shallow part of the shore. The large Viking rushes over to Gorvan and said, “Are you hurt, my lord?”
“Just get me to the Viking chief.” Gorvan responds.
The Vikings escort Gorvan and Yohan to an enormous Viking Fortress on a long bridge made of stone. The fortress is topped with an enormous tower and is made out of hard concrete stone. Inside the thrown room of the fortress, Gorvan’s uncle, Chief Ragnus sits on his thrown with two Viking women on both sides of his thrown, holding their weapons. The lit tortes are on the left and right side of the room. On the ceiling of the thrown room is a stone carving of two axes crossing together. In front of him is a large stone table with a bonfire in the center of it. Chief Ragnus drinks his beer from his golden cup. One of the Viking women asks, “How is your beer, sir?”
“Not too bad,” the Chief answered with a baritone voice, “Could have used a little kick, but… eh, it’s not too bad.”
Gorvan opens the large massive doors of the thrown room and enters into it with Yohan walking along with him. Gorvan calls his name, “Chief! Chief Ragnus!”
The chief gasped with surprised as he walks towards him, “Could it be!”
“It is!” the Viking woman exclaimed.
“Oh great mighty Thor!” Ragnus and his women bows and kneels on their knees towards Gorvan as the chief removes his helmet off his head. “How may I say serve you.”
Gorvan makes an annoyed on his face with his eyebrows meeting in the middle and said, “Uncle! Stop it! It’s me, Gorvan! Your nephew! Remember?!”
“What?!” The chief laughs, “Gods can’t change their names. And I never thought of having a God for a nephew.”
“Look, uncle, I’m not who you think I am, Alright! I just got this stupid helmet on my head, I can’t get it off, and everyone sees me as Thor!”
“Wait! Did you see your reflection?”
“Yeah, and I saw myself as Thor in that reflection! And not even my real self. It just so…weird.”
“I believe I’ve seen this before.” The Viking woman hands over the book of legends to Ragnus and the chief places the book down on the rounded stone table and flips over to the fourteenth page of the book, “Oh lord, I knew this day would come.”
“What? What is it?”
“Well, for starters, that helmet of which you are wearing is not just any ordinary helmet. It’s the supernatural golden helmet of the mighty Thor and it says here that whoever wears the golden helmet shall be seen by everyone as the mighty Thor and it would also affect on how you would see yourself in your own reflection. Once that person wears the helmet unwisely, it will never ever come off and it will be stuck there forever!”
“Is there any…bad, side affects?”
“Well, I would say both good and bad. The good side affect is that will give you God-like powers and strength to help you to fight properly.”
“And the bad side affects?”
“The bad side affects is that it will give you massive retractable headaches. Each one much bigger and much worse than the last.” Gorvan begins to squint his eyes and puts his hand on his forehead as he hunches his upper body downward and groans in pain. Ragnus becomes shocked as he sees a stream of glowing lightning, streaming down his forehead.
“My head hurts so bad! Is there any medicine or cure for it?”
“I’m afraid there isn’t. The book also says that no medicine nor weapon nor cure or antidote of any kind would with stand the golden helmet’s power.”
“So there’s no other way to stop it?”
“Well there is one type of creature that can remove the helmet off of your head…the mighty wyvern.”
“DRAGON?!” Gorvan reacts nervously, “Ha-Okay, surely there’s gotta be another, safer way to get this helmet off me.”
“Well we could get it off of you with our weapons but if we do, we would probably cut off your whole head.”
Gorven begins to react nervously with a worried expression on his face and with his hand softly touching his neck and replied while cleansing his teeth, “Eeeeh.”
“But the book simply says the wyvern will use a giant massive fireball to blast the helmet off of your head without actually blasting off your whole head.”
“So the fireball from the wyvern is the only thing that can get this helmet off?”
“That’s what it says in the book of legends.”
“Great! So where can I find the wyvern?”
Chief Ragnus flips to another page of the book and on it is a hidden folded scroll. The chief opens the scroll as it stretches to fifteen meters wide and reveals to be a map of the Scandinavian oceans and landscapes and the mythical Norse monsters that are in it. Ragnus replied, “The mighty wyvern lies into a mysterious mystical island called Belc, home of some of the most horrible, vicious mythical creatures ever to roam and live. It’s a three-day travel to get there, both by sea and land and it can and will be very crucially dangerous.” Ragnus pauses for dramatic affect once he looks at Gorvan in the eye. “But I’m sure you’ll handle it just fine because after all you are the…”
“Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah, I get it-I get it, I’m the mighty Thor.” Gorvan sighs, “Just as long as I can get this helmet off my head and to make people stop calling me Thor by the end of it. I mean, it would be nice to have God-like powers but I can’t have headaches for the rest of my life! That’s every Viking’s worse nightmare!”
“Then there’s no time to loose! You have exactly three days to get to the wyvern. And maybe three days to get back, I’m not sure. But here’s your key to find him.” Chief Ragnus closes the scroll from both sides and hands it over to Gorvan. Gorvan gives Chief Ragnus a big loving hug.
“Wish me the best of luck, Uncle Ragnus.”
“I wish you all the luck in the world, Thor.”
“Yup, I really need to get to that wyvern.” Gorvan takes the scroll and heads towards the exit of the fortress and through the many hallways and stairs of the fortress. His pet goat, Yohan, follows behind him as he quickly walks out of the fortress and towards his long boat. Gorvan arrives towards the sailboat and faces towards the crowd and exclaims to them, “Alright everybody, I’m off to see the mighty wyvern.”
The Viking villagers gasp, dramatically. Berkheart asked, “Are you gonna kill it?”
“What? No.”
“Slay it?” asked the second viking
“No.” Gorvan answered in his annoyed tone of voice.
“Bring back its head?” asked the third Viking.
“Zap it with your powers?” asked the fourth Viking.
“No! I’m gonna travel all the way to the wyvern so he can get this stupid helmet off me!”
“But I thought you said you would get us everything we want!”
“With this!” Gorvan brings out a bag of gold coins in his pocket and throws it to one of the Viking’s hand. “Here! Do what you want with it! Its yours!”
“Its only a few coins in here.”
“And not enough to share with.” Berkheart added.
Gorvan groans in annoyance and then sees Yohan nibbling the rope that connects to the large fishing net with an enormous school of fishes inside. Gorvan grabs the rope away from Yohan, throws it towards the villagers, and replied, “Here! Take all of this instead! Ya happy?!” The fish flies out of the net and falls on the Viking villagers, each one capturing all the fish in their hands as well as their mouths. All the villagers react in awe and excitement to see fish falling from the sky.
“What generosity!” cried one the villagers.
“We could be feasting on these things for days!” said the Viking woman.
“We’ll never go hungry again!” the fourth Viking villager shouted, happily.
“Bless you mighty Thor!” said Berkheart, “Fair wind to your sails and we wish you the best of luck on your travels.”
“Yeah, Your welcome.” Gorvan replied, “And by the way, my name is not Thor, its Gorvan.”
“Whatever you say, Gorvan. Best of luck to ya.” Gorvan pulls the string from the top beam and releases a giant colossal sail as the wind blows through the sail, dragging the long boat towards the open ocean. The Viking villagers wave their hands in the air, waving goodbye to Gorvan as he sails away from the island and towards the open ocean.
The wind continues to blow on the sail as the waves of the ocean pushes the longboat through the wide-open fjord. Gorvan continues to sail further and further beyond the reef as he stands to the front part of the longboat with his foot next the wooden carving of a dragon’s head by the tip of the longboat. The wind blows through his hair and his cape as he sails through the middle of the ocean. “Okay, so far so good.” Said Gorvan, “I got three days to get to the wyvern.” Gorvan groans in pain as he squints his eyes and touches his forehead, feeling the pain from his head. “But it will not be easy keeping this headache thing under control.”
Suddenly, Gorvan hears a series of munching noises behind him, he quickly turns his head and sees Yohan eating and chewing the tip of the map that would lead him straight to the wyvern. Gorvan reacts with alarm, “What the-…YOHAN DON’T EAT THAT!!!!” Gorvan grabs the left side of the map and tries to pull it away from him, “COME ON, SPIT IT OUT!!!” Yohan continues to bite and chew the map as he tries to pull it away from Gorvan. “YOHAN, SPIT IT OUT!!!” Gorvan and Yohan continue fighting over the map until a giant tentacle rises from the water and knocks the sail off the long boat.
The fisherman and his goat stopped fighting and looks up at the giant tentacle with disturbance. “What the…” The long boat begins to shake as the giant creature rises out of the water and reveals to be the head of a giant colossal kraken with long gigantic tentacles. Gorvan stares at the creature in shock, “Oh you can’t be serious!” The kraken knocks Gorvan off the sailboat and into the water with its tentacles. The giant octopus creature grabs the longboat and lifts it in the air with Yohan peering on the other side of the longboat, making a loud bleating sound to get Gorvan’s attention. Gorvan swims up to the surface of the water and shouts, “I’M COMING, YOHAN!!!” Gorvan grabs his battle-axe that was floating on the water and swims towards the rock monoliths on the other side.
He runs to the top part of the monolith and grabs the tip of the tentacle with his hands as he was dragged all the way to where his longboat is. The Viking fisherman holds tight to the tentacle until the tentacle moves around in a fast pace, carrying up, down, left, and right, as it tries to get Gorvan off of the tip. Gorvan jumps down towards the bottom tentacle and quickly runs up towards the longboat with the battle-axe in his hand.
Another tentacle launches towards him and Gorvan slices it off with his battle-ax. The second tentacle launches on his left side and the fisherman slices off the tentacle. A couple more tentacles launches towards him through both sides and Gorvan continues to slices them off with his battle-axe. The tentacle that he is running on begins to rise out of the water and as soon as it rises up to the creature’s head, Gorvan takes a giant leap off the tentacle with his battle-axe in the air and slices off the tentacle that is holding his longboat.
The longboat falls back into the ocean and Gorvan lands right into the longboat, petting Yohan in the forehead and said in a calm voice, “Its okay, buddy, your safe now. Your gonna be okay.” Yohan looks to the other side of his face and sees the giant tentacle swaying towards his direction. The goat bleats loudly, getting Gorvan’s attention to look behind him. The golden helmet begins to glow, brightly as the tentacle sways faster and faster until Gorvan knocks the tentacle with a powerful lighting bolt striking out of his battle-axe, causing the tentacle to fall into the water. Another set of tentacles strikes towards him and Gorvan knocks all the tentacles with his battle-axe as the electric bolts spreads all around the battle-axe. The Viking fisherman jumps on one of the tentacles as it rises up the creature’s face. Gorvan waves his battle-axe in the air, jumps from the tentacle and stabs the kraken on his head while also electrocuting the giant creature with his battle-axe.
As the kraken slowly falls into the water while Gorvan pulls the battle-axe off of his head and jumps back into his longboat where Yohan is until a large tentacle swipes the longboat in the air, causing it to fly into the atmosphere. The longboat continues to fly and spin through the atmosphere until it lands into the peak of a steep snowy mountain as it slides all the down through the snow. Gorvan and Yohan begins to scream as the longboat continues to slide faster and faster down the hill uncontrollably until a large and enormous female yak, with a mysterious hooded figure on her back, stops the longboat with her head on the tip of the longboat.
The yak makes a loud mooing sound as Gorvan walks toward the front part of the longboat and finds the yak holding the tip of the boat with her head. The Viking fisherman looks up towards a mysterious hooded figure, riding on the yak. Gorvan raises his eyebrow and said, “Wait, how did you…” The hooded figure jumps off the yak, lands in front of Gorvan and swipes her sword towards him. Gorvan grabs his battle-axe and fights off the figure with his axe until the hooded figure kicks him down the floor with her foot. The Viking fisherman crawls away from her on his back in fear and the hooded figure walks towards him while she sheathes her sword. She puts her foot on his belly, looks down to him with her elbow on her knee, takes off her hood and reveals herself to be a beautiful gorgeously appealing Valkyrie named Vilka with long beautiful blonde hair that flows through the wind, crystal blue eyes, and a golden helmet with two golden wings on both sides of her helmet. The Valkyrie has long black eyelashes, light blue eye shadow, red lips and her face and cheekbones are carved beautifully like a super model. She stares at Gorvan with a stern and serious look on her face with her eyebrows meeting in the middle. Gorvan stares back at Vilka and responds, “A Valkyrie? You’re a Valkyrie?”
“Yeah,” said Vilka, “And what the hell are you doing on earth, Thor? Aren’t you supposed to be in Valhalla or something? Oh wait, I’m wrong, that’s Asgard. Yeah, aren’t you supposed to be back in Asgard?”
Gorvan sighs and begins to stand up off the floor and answered, “Alright look, I will tell you what I told my villagers, my name is not Thor, its Gorvan, GOR-VAN!!”
“Uh-huh, then what’s with that shining golden helmet you have on your head, GOR-VAN?!!”
“Well that’s why I’m out here! So I can find the legendary wyvern that can blast the helmet off of my head!”
“Wait, are you telling me your going to the isle of Belc?”
“Yeah! That place!”
“Well first off, your going the wrong way, second, it is a very, very, VERY long way to get there and three, if I were you I would cut my losses and go home before I hurt myself.”
“But if I can’t make it to the wyvern, I’ll have massive headaches forever! I can’t have that!”
“Well its better to have massive headaches then to deal with ten thousand monsters in your way. Besides, I’m on a mission to find my golden battle-axe and I will not stop for anything until I have that baby in my hand!”
“You can use mine.” Gorvan lends her his battle-axe.
“You mean that pathetic little fighting tool that you mortals call a weapon, I don’t think so. My golden battle-axe is much more powerful than that piece of crap.”
“So can you get me down this mountain?”
“I can but you’ll be soiling your pants if I tell you what it is. And it’ll be a lot more fun to show you.” Vilka brings out a golden glowing rope from her cloak, walks to the tip of the long boat and ties the rope on the wooden carving of a dragon’s head by the tip of the longboat.
“Wait, what are you doing?” Gorvan asks.
“You’ll see.” Vilka responds as she brings the other end of the rope to her pet yak named Yakimma. She jumps onto Yakimma’s back and ties the rope around her neck, while Yakimma still holds the longboat with her forehead. Gorvan looks over the longboat and looks suspicious.
“Wait, are going to…”
“Don’t worry, you’ll be perfectly safe. I trust my little Yakimma.”
“Yakimma?”
“That’s what I call my pet yak, Yakimma. Don’t judge me!”
“Uuuh, ok, I won’t.”
Vilka pats on her pet yak’s head and said, “Yakimma, Yip-Yip!” Yakimma turns her massive body around and slowly walks down the hill.
“Wait, what?” Yakimma takes off down the hill, causing Gorvan to fall on his back as she runs rapidly down the hill while Vilka rides on her back and pulls the longboat down the hill with the rope tied around her neck. Yakimma continues to run faster and faster down the tall steep hill with her hooves running through the large thick snow while the yak breathes in and out through her nose and mouth. Yakimma jumps two feet in the air and slides all the way down towards the bottom of the snowy hill and Vilka shouts, “WHOO-HOO!!! THIS IS LIVING, AY GORVAN?!”
“If you would call sliding all the way down to my death then yes, this is definitely living!”
“I HOPE YOU LIKE THE GIANT BUMPS!”
“Yeah, well I hope you like vomit!” Gorvan puts his hand on his lips as his cheeks gets big and puffy, looking almost as if he is about to puke. Yakimma continues to run down the snowy hill with the rope connected from the longboat to her thick bulky neck while the longboat slides up and down with the yak pulling the longboat. Yakimma gallops faster and faster down the hill with her hooves pressing through the thick and heavy snow until a large rock tips her over and trips over the snow, causing the longboat to slide down the hill and drags Yakimma down the hill with her. Gorvan and Yohan screams as they slide all the down towards the razor sharp rocks that sticks out from the bottom of the hill. The longboat crashes into the rocks, causing Gorvan and Yohan to fall towards the sharp rocks with Yohan biting his rear end with his teeth until Vilka catches the goat’s leg with her long golden rope and pulls both Gorvan and Yohan away from the sharp rocks and safely into the snow. Gorvan rises out of the snow and brushes the snow off of him and walks towards the demolished longboat. He stares at it and said, “No, no-no-no! This is terrible! My longboat is ruined! Look at what you’ve done!”
“Hey dude, if it makes you feel any better, I just saved your goat!” Vilka holds Yohan up to her chest with her two hands and the goat bleats in response. “Literally! And your life! So a certain ‘Thank you’ would suffice!”
“Thank you?! How can I thank you when my longboat is destroyed and torn to pieces! Now how am I supposed to get to the wyvern?!”
“Well, there you have it, but hey we gave it the old college try, didn’t we? Guess I’m gonna have to hop into my own longboat and be on my way.” Vilka rides towards her own longboat on the other side of the mountain on her yak. Gorvan reacts in realization with his eyes wide open.
“Wait, you had your own long boat this whole time?!”
“Yeah, I do and unfortunately I don’t take kindly to stowaways.”
“What?! But how am I gonna…”
“You can take an ice burg through the lake, make it pass the sea serpent, and go through the mountain pass and….eehh, your welcome.”
“What? No! I can’t go out there alone!”
“Trust me you are.”
Gorvan begins to laugh and says, “funny! Say nice longboat, any chance we might get on it today?”
“Wait… Are you serious?! I told you I don’t kindly to…”
Gorvan points to himself, “Viking fisherman and goat, lair of the wyvern, which is at an island, surrounded by water, which means I need a longboat to get to for which you have. Are we starting to connect the dots?”
Vilka looks confused but then makes a suspicious look on her face with her upper and lower eyelids showing and her eyebrows meeting in the middle as she utters, “Hmmm.”
Gorvan walks towards Yakimma, puts his elbow on her side, and replied, “And as a thank you for both saving my life and taking me to the wyvern, I’ll be happy to get you that golden battle-axe you always wanted. Aah? Aah? Come on, you can’t get a better offer than that!”
“Well it could be located at the isle of Belc, which I didn’t check…”
“Then that’s exactly where we’re going! We’ll go to Belc, find your battle-axe, and to take me directly to the wyvern. Unless you do wanna stay here in the mortal world and…live without one.”
“You and your goat, get on! Now!”
“Ah, I thought you never asked.” Gorvan and Yohan walk towards Vilka’s enormous longboat with Vilka riding on Yakimma towards the boat.
Gorvan is about to step into the boat until Vilka leaps in front of him, holds her swords towards his nose and said, “Ah-ah-ah! Not so fast! My longboat, my rules! Lady Valkyrie before gentle-mortal, thank you!” Vilka steps into the longboat, Yakimma steps in along with her and Gorvan raises his eyebrow, looking confused. “Well, are you coming or not?”
“Oh, yeah.” Gorvan steps right into the longboat and Yohan leaps right into his arms. Vilka pulls the string from the top beam and releases a giant colossal sail as the wind blows through the sail, dragging the long boat towards the open ocean. The giant massive waves of the ocean toss the longboat through the massively wide-open fjord. The longboat rides up word towards the top of the wave and rides all the way down to the bottom of the wave while the longboat sails through the open ocean. Vilka stands in front of the longboat with her foot next to the wooden carving of the dragon’s head and the wind blows through her long blonde hair. Yakimma stands behind Vilka while Gorvan and Yohan stands behind the two females.
“Alright fisherman,” said Vilka, “if your gonna come travel with me, I have some ground rules.”
“Ground rules?”
“Rule number one, always listen to me and me alone! Rule number two…” Gorvan sees a roasted turkey leg in her pocket and reaches out it until Vilka grabs his hand by the wrist and squeezes it with a powerful aggressive grip. Vilka shouts with anger, “DO NOT EVER TOUCH ME OR MY FOOD! EVER!!!!” Vilka bangs his wrist on the side of the boat and Gorvan sprains his wrist. “And if you ever get hungry, I have a fishing net full of dead sardines, just waiting to be eaten.” Yohan sniffs the fishing net of sardines and makes a disgust look on his face with his tongue sticking out and runs away from it on his four hooves. “Now, as I was saying…” Vilka brings out her turkey leg and eats it. “Rule number three, KEEP THIS LONGBOAT CLEAN!! I don’t want anything to happen to it! Rule number four, DO NOT ASK ME STUPID QUESTIONS! I don’t care what it is, if its something that is unbelievably random and ridiculous, I do not want to hear it. Rule number five; there are ten thousand monsters out here just waiting to eat your bones and swallow you whole so I suggest you just back off and let me do my job, okay! In other words, let me do the heroic stuff. Rule number six, do not backstab me or I will stab your back! Literally! And Rule number seven, do not ever, ever, ever, I mean NEVER leave out my sight! I don’t care if you don’t like me, I don’t care you think I’m mean, and I honestly don’t care if you think I’m annoying or that I talk too much! If we’re going to that wyvern, you are going to stay with me and stay in the middle of the trail at all times!!” Vilka walks towards Gorvan, puts her elbow on his belly, and looks at him with a sarcastic smile on his face. “So…any questions you got for me…Thor?”
Gorvan smiles sarcastically and answers, “Yes, I have one question. Would you, with the kindness and goodness of your heart… STOP CALLING ME THOR!!!”
“Unless you get that helmet off of your head, I’m gonna call you Thor! Simple as that.”
Gorvan groans in annoyance, “the sooner we get to the wyvern, the better.”
“Whatever you say, sunshine.”
“That’s because of this helmet, isn’t it!!!”
“Uuh, yeah, duuh, what do you think.”
“Oh, um, I didn’t get your name.”
“Its Vilka.”
“Vilka.”
“Yeah, and if you wanna know what my full name is, you couldn’t possibly pronounce it in your mortal tongue.”
“Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. I have another question.”
“This better be good, lightning bolts.”
Gorvan asks nervously, “Have you…ever, met…the wyvern?”
Vilka smiles sarcastically with her eyebrows meet in the middle and remarks, “Have I met the wyvern.” The Valkyrie begins to laugh loudly and hysterically with her eyes closed and her mouth wide open. “Have I met the wyvern!” Vilka continues to laugh with the sound of her laughter getting louder and louder with Gorvan looking confused.
“Is that a no?”
Vilka laughs continuously and uncontrollably and nudges her elbow to Yakimma and cried with laughter, “You hear that, Yakimma?! This guy wants to know if we’ve met the wyvern.” Vilka continues to laugh hysterically with Yakimma laughing along with her. Gorvan still looks confused with his eyebrow raised. Vilka laughs harder and harder until she grabs Gorvan by the collar of his shirt and pulls her towards her face. She stares at Gorvan with an angry expression on her face and replied, “I’VE SEEN THAT GIANT FEARSOME MONSTER WITH MY OWN EYES AND THAT VILLAINOUS REPTILE STARED AT ME AS IF THE GODS HAVE STARED DIRECTLY AT MY SOUL!!!”
“So, he’s…mean?”
“Mean?! Oh, he’s beyond mean! He’s meaner than mean! In fact, he is THE LIVING EMBODIMENT OF THE DEVIL!!!” Vilka pushes Gorvan into the floor of the longboat and Vilka looks down to him with her elbow on her knee. “A real vicious killer! The one who flies through the air and kills ten thousand Viking long ships with his fire breath! And with no hesitation.”
“So I can’t make him get this helmet off of my head?”
“You can, but only if you ask him to do it.”
“That’s it?”
“Yup, just ask him to blast the helmet off your head and you’ll run home free.”
“Oh good.”
“Just as long as you stay out of his territory. Or you’ll get eaten alive!”
“Crap!”
“Oh you think that’s bad, wait till you see this!” Vilka rolls up sleeve and shows him her giant claw mark across her arm, which makes Gorvan look disturbed and worried. “This is exactly what that lizard gave me when I had to trespass into his territory! He promised me to be more harmful in the future.”
“Well, at least that’s one mythical creature to worry about.”
“One of many.”
“What are you talking about?” The longboat shakes rabidly and uncontrollably, making Gorvan, Vilka, Yohan, and Yakimma struggle to stand still as a large enormous tail rises out of the water and swipes towards them. The swipe of the tail knocks them onto the floor of the boat. Gorvan responds, “What the…? Another one? Didn’t I kill that kraken a few moments ago?”
“Well it’s a good thing you survived, cause this is no kraken!”
“Then what is it?”
“Its much worse!” The longboat continues to shake uncontrollably until a giant colossal sea serpent called Jormungandr rises out of the water with its head rearing up and looking down at the longboat, growling with its massive razor teeth showing.
Gorvan stutters with fear, “V-v-vilka, what do you call that thing?”
Vilka shouts in response, “JORMUNGANDR!!!”
The giant sea serpent roars at Gorvan and Vilka with its mouth wide open and its massive teeth showing. The wind from its roar blows into faces and Jormungandr dives into the water, in front of them as the wave tosses the longboat. Vilka turns her rope to the left and the longboat rides through the giant waves of the ocean as it rides up and down the waves while the monstrous Jormungandr chases them through the ocean. The serpent chomps its jaws and swings its head towards them.
Gorvan asks, “What was that thing called again?”
“Jormungandr!” Vilka answered, “the most powerful sea monster of the ocean next to the kraken! Complete with a long slithery body, large humongous teeth, and can go for 34 miles per hour!”
“He’s really coming in fast!”
“Oh yeah, did I forgot to mention that even the swipe his tail could also create physical damage!”
“Physical what?!” Jormungandr slides over its body and quickly swipes its long massive tail towards the longboat, causing the boat to fly into the air until hits into a rock monolith on its side and falls into the water with the birds and sea gulls flying and scattering out of the ocean. Vilka looks over at the other side of the longboat and gasps as she sees a broken hole to the longboat.
The Valkyrie looks back at the serpent swimming through the ocean with the rock monoliths on the left and right side. Vilka responds with anger, “OH NO YOU DIDN’T!” Vilka unsheathes her sword and runs towards the back of the longboat until Gorvan grabs her by the arm.
“Vilka, what are you doing?!”
“I’m gonna teach that giant sea worm a lesson!”
“But did you see how big he is? He’s gonna have you as a tiny little snack!”
“Then that’s the risk I’ll have to take!”
“But what if I can help you!”
“Gorvan! Remember what I told you about rule number five; stand aside, back off, and let me do my job! PLEASE!!” Gorvan lets go of her hand and Vilka leaps towards the ocean, runs on it and makes a giant powerful leap towards Jormungandr with her sword. Jormungandr charges towards Vilka as she rises into the air with the sword in her hand.
Vilka lands on Jormungandr’s snout and crawls on in its head while the sea serpant moves around his head. Vilka slowly stands on Jormungandr’s head and puts her sword in the air, trying to stab the creature until the sea serpent flips her off of its head, making her fly in the air. The Valkyrie falls towards Jormungandr’s mouth as it leaps up in the air towards her. Jormungandr closes its jaws until Vilka puts the tip of the sword on the topside of the inside of its mouth while sitting on the sea monster’s tongue. Jormungandr slithers and moves around rapidly, causing the massive splashes of waves of the ocean to move uncontrollably and very storm like. Gorvan grabs the rope to the right and sails directly towards Jormungandr. While sailing towards the giant serpent, the golden helmet begins to shine, causing the electric bolts to spread from the helmet and into his battle-axe. Gorvan swings his battle-axe in the air and shoots directly towards Jormungandr, causing him to spit out Vilka and fall into the ocean on his back. Gorvan grabs a rope from the longboat and Vilka climbs on the rope and into the longboat. Vilka pants with exhaustion and asks, “Gorvan, how did you…”
“I don’t know!” Gorvan responds, “But we’ll deal with that later!” Jormungandr leaps out of the ocean and into the air until it falls into the ocean as it slithers around the longboat with its long gigantic coils. “Oh now what is he doing?”
“He’s penetrating us as his snack!” Jormungander quickly shoots an enormous spray of water out of his mouth and continues to slither around the longboat.
“Great bolts of Thor! You never told me he could spray water!”
“That was because I was in a hurry!” The giant sea serpent stops slithering and puts his head all the top while looking down at the longboat. “Welp, its nice knowing you Gorvan, I guess we’ll never get to the isle of Belc nor to remove that golden helmet off your head.”
Gorvan looks over to her shield on the other side of the longboat next to Yakimma and said, “Yes we are! Vilka, hand me your shield!”
“What?! Are you crazy! Why should I even…”
“Just trust me, Vilka! There are a lot of things that you can’t do by yourself! And it takes two people to take down this monster!”
“Well I got news for you, Gorvan, I’m a lone Valkyrie and I am more than capable to do things by myself! Even if I die alone!”
“But even if you are capable of doing things by yourself, you would still get hurt and you will still die! Not even enough to get your golden axe you always wanted! You can’t do all of this alone! And you can’t shut me out of it! A golden battle-axe doesn’t make you a hero! Only you can do that yourself! There’s a lot more ways to get through peril that is with the help of the people around you! Please! Just this once! Let me help you!”
“I don’t know if this would work, Gorvan.”
“Just try it! If it works, we’ll keep going like this! And if it doesn’t, then we’ll just do it your way! Or maybe even worse!” Vilka begins to sigh and looks over to her shield. The Valkyrie turns her head to Gorvan and nods her head. She quickly walks towards the shield, picks it up and hands it over to Gorvan. “Okay, now stand close to me!” Vilka stands right next to him while looking up at the giant creature. The Viking fisherman grabs his battle-axe and bangs on the shield with his axe, getting Jormungandr’s attention. Gorvan shouts at Jormungandr, “Hey! Water snake! Over here!” Jormungandr raises its head and dives towards Gorvan and Vilka until the fisherman hits the serpent in the lower jaw with her shield. Jormungandr head-buds the shield while Gorvan holds it with his fist.
Vilka becomes surprised by what she sees, “Wow! This is much easier!”
“That’s the idea!” Jormungandr sprays the shield with the water out of its breath while Gorvan continues to hold his shield. The giant sea serpent charges towards the couple and Gorvan knocks Jormungandr over to the other side with her shield. Jormungandr leaps towards the longboat and Gorvan grabs his battle-axe and strikes the giant serpent with the lightning bolt out of his battle-axe, causing it to fall into the ocean again. Jormungandr rises out of the water while swimming towards the boat; Vilka grabs her longbow and arrows and shoots the serpent into its left eyeball. The lone Valkyrie shoots another arrow into its ear-like fin.
Jormungandr swings its head towards Vilka, knocking her to other side of the longboat and Vilka shoots the creature in the nostril with her arrow. The Valkyrie unsheathes her sword and fights off the Jormungandr with it while the serpent chomps its jaws and swings its head toward her. The monster opens its enormous jaws to her until it noticed that its tail is caught. The giant beast turns its head and sees Gorvan, standing on a rock monolith in the middle of the ocean, grabbing the end piece of its tail and said, “Gotcha!” Jormungandr lifts up its tail and swings Gorvan side to side until it swipes him up in the air. Vilka grabs the rope, throws it towards Gorvan’s foot and pulls him back into the boat.
The giant beast charges its head towards the boat until Yakimma, the large yak, knocks the sea serpent with her horns on its left and right side until Jormungandr knocks Yakimma away with its head. Yohan, the goat, rubs his hooves on the floor and head-buds Jormungandr in its right eyeball and towards its chin. The monstrous serpent chomps its jaws at Yohan until Vilka captures the beast with her rope while she rides on Yakimma’s back.
Gorvan grabs the end piece of its tail as it throws him up into the air, flying in the sky until he slides all the way down on its tail and runs towards Jormungandr’s head with his battle-axe. The Viking fisherman jumps up in the air with the battle-axe in his hand and stabs Jormungandr on its head while electrocuting the creature, causing it to lift up its head and roar at the sky.
Jormungandr slowly sinks into the ocean as Gorvan takes the battle-axe off of his head. The slithering sea monster slowly falls and sinks into the bottom of the ocean and the fisherman jumps from its neck and into the water. Vilka grabs his hand and pulls him up to the longboat. Yohan leaps into his lap and licks him on his twice with his tongue and Vilka picks him up from the floor and replied, “Well, not bad, mortal, not bad! You really surprised me today.”
“Ha, told you it was a good idea.”
Vilka looks over Gorvan’s shoulder and sees a group of razor sharp rocks coming into their way. Vilka throws Gorvan aside and cried, “LOOK OUT!” Vilka grabs the rope, turns it to the left, and sails towards the left side of the ocean as they sail towards an ocean of razor sharp rocks sticking out of the water. Gorvan, Vilka, Yohan, and Yakimma sails through the electrically fast river rapids, causing the longboat to sail through the sharp rocks uncontrollably until it hits into a gigantic razor sharp rock, causing the longboat to fly up in the air, flipping up and down through the clouds until it crash lands into the shore of a mysterious island. Gorvan, Vilka, and their two pets fall off the longboat and into the sand. The boat crashes into the rocks next to the ocean. Gorvan and Vilka rise out of the sand and see the enormous longboat being destroyed by the rocks with awe-struck and disbelief.
Vilka kneels down and picks up the two pieces of the longboat. Gorvan approaches behind her and said, “Your longboat. It’s destroyed. I-I’m very sorry, Vilka. This is my fault! I should probably get going before I make you angry.”
Vilka grabs his hand behind her and said with a grieving tone of voice, “No, Gorvan. You’re fine. It’s better this way.”
“What? But you’re boat! How am I gonna get home?”
“We’ll find a way to get back.”
“But I thought you said that…”
“Dude, forget about what I just said, alright. You didn’t do anything wrong, it just happens. And besides, you taught me a very powerful lesson.” Vilka walks past him and walks towards Yakimma.
“That you should never ever trust mortals because they break things?” Vilka leaps on Yakimma’s back, ties her golden rope on her two horns and rides towards Gorvan.
“That when the going gets tough, you would always needed someone to be at your side and to be prepared for anything, even if it means leaving your longboat in shambles. Besides, I have a battle-axe to find and you got a wyvern to go to. So are you coming with me, or what?” Vilka offers her hand to Gorvan. The Viking fisherman smiles boldly and determined-like and takes Vilka by the hand, causing her to pull him up behind her while riding on Yakimma’s back.
Gorvan looks down to Yohan, opens his hands, and replied, “Come on, Yohan.” The goat leaps onto his arms is placed behind Gorvan. Yakimma takes off and runs up the slope of the sand and runs through the mist and fog with her four hooves while Vilka holds tight on her bridle on her horns.
The large female yak gallops through the mist with Yohan, Gorvan, and Vilka riding on her back as she runs through the mysterious foggy island. Yakimma gallops through the thin wet grass and gallops up the slope of the large grassy meadow up ahead. When the yak slowly walks to the top of the slope, the mist and fog slowly clears away to reveal a mystical island called Belc, filled with enormous pine trees, grassy meadows, enormous waterfalls, a long river stream, and tall gargantuan mountains made of grey solid stone. The island itself is shown as a vast and enormous valley with a large wide-open field of grassy meadows with the large pine trees and giant mountain ranges surrounding the area. The four deer creatures called the four harts are eating grass by the river while the two ravens named Huggin and Muninn are flying through the entire valley-like island of Belc. Vilka continues to ride on the yak and announces to Gorvan, “Here we are. Welcome to the isle of Belc. Charming, huh? Well don’t be fooled by its good looks, fisherman. This island may look like a paradise but it’s an island full of so much violence that not even other Vikings and vagabonds would keep their pants dry.” Yakimma gallops down the deep slope of the hill and the four harts runs and leaps through the grass and leaps along with her.
“Well,” said Gorvan, nervously, “at least we handled the sea serpent to make it this far.”
“And I’m glad you did. You really did surprise me. But we still got a long way to go. If we’re gonna get to the wyvern, we gotta go through a whole journey of hell. Not to mention, Fenrir.” Vilka points to her tattoo of Fenrir the giant black wolf on her back. Gorvan looks at it with suspicion and disturbance. “The giant black wolf? Ever fought a giant black wolf?”
“No. Not really. Have you?”
“Without counting this trip…once.”
“Oh, that must have been terrible.”
“Yeah, it is, but it’s simply nothing me and Yakimma can’t handle, right girl?” Vilka pats on her head and Yakimma makes a loud mooing sound in response. “Yeah, she gets it.” Yakimma gallops through a soft flowerbed filled with bright and colorful daisies with white pedals and a yellow center. The bees, dragonflies, and butterflies hovers and fly through the flowerbed.
“So what will you do with the golden battle-axe?”
“My golden battle-axe will not only give me an extra power boost but it will also give me access back to the spirit realm of Asgard, that is if I am given the chance.”
“You mean, after I get to the wyvern.”
“Well yeah, Of course.”
“Well as soon as I have him to blast the helmet off my head, I’ll go back to being a Viking fisherman in no time.”
“Well that’s a waste of time.”
“Waste of time? How is that a…”
“Gorvan, do you wanna become your own legend instead of being a boring old fisherman for the rest of your life?”
“What? What do you mean?”
“I mean it beats being confused as a God and it definitely beats being a fisherman. Like don’t you wanna get out there, see the world, go to places no Viking has ever gone before?”
“You can’t teach this old Viking new fighting skills.”
“Well, you’d be surprised.” Vilka turns her head to the left and stops her yak as she pulls her bridle, getting Yakimma to stop moving. Gorvan and Yohan turn their heads to the same direction that Vilka and Yakimma are looking at and see a shining golden battle-axe, standing on a tree stump with its blade on the side of the stump while the sunlight shines on it.
“Speaking of surprises.” Gorvan remarks.
“There it is! My golden battle-axe!” Vilka jumps off of Yakimma’s back and approaches towards it. “Its beautiful.” The Valkyrie takes two steps towards the stump until an arrow shoots on the ground in front of her from the left side. Vilka turns her head and looks to other side with disturbance. She takes another set of two steps until another arrow shoots on the ground from her right side. Vilka looks to right side with suspicion and glances over the entire area of the forest with her eyebrows meeting in the middle. “Something tells me we’re not alone.”
Gorvan unsheathes his battle-axe, hops off of Yakimma and approaches behind Vilka with his back facing behind her. He sticks his axe towards the forest in all different directions and whispers, “Don’t worry, Vilka, I got your back.”
“Good.” Vilka whispers, “Now stay behind me.” Vilka puts her hand on her left side and unsheathes her sword with her other hand. The Valkyrie holds Gorvan’s with her arm and tiptoes her way towards the stump while Gorvan follows her with his back facing behind her. She gets closer and closer towards the stump until she grabs the golden battle-axe by the handle and pulls it off of the tree stump. She holds the axe into the air and shouts, “YES!”
Suddenly, a notorious army of medium-sized trolls leaps out of the bushes from all sides and charges towards Gorvan and Vilka with their weapons. One of the trolls leaps towards Gorvan and the Viking fisherman knocks it with his battle-axe. Another troll charges towards Vilka and the Valkyrie strikes the troll with a powerful lightning bolt out of her golden battle-axe. As the trolls charges closer and closer to the couple, the two fights off the trolls with their weapons. Gorvan sword fights the trolls on the right with his battle-axe and shield at the same time as Vilka sword fighting the trolls on the right with her golden battle-axe and sword. Gorvan and Vilka continues swiping their weapons towards the trolls while the humanoid creatures fights them back. Afterwards, Gorvan and Vilka taps their axes together and strikes all the trolls from both opposite direction with a powerful lightning bolt, knocking them into the ground. The two of them look surprised with their eyes wide open.
“Wow,” said Vilka, “We actually did that!”
“Heck yeah! Nobody is gonna chase us now!” Suddenly, they hear the sound of a loud battle-horn and see the chief of the trolls blowing the battle-horn while riding on the back of a large boar-like creature called the Gullinbursti. The troll chief continues to blow the horn as an army of a thousand other trolls on their Gullinburstis comes up the hill where he is, joining him. “Not again!” said Gorvan, looking nervous and petrified.
“Alright we got to keep moving!” The two of them rushes back to Yakimma on her back as the troll chief unsheathes his sword, rears his Gullinbursti up on its two feet and let out his war cry. The chief charges towards them as the entire army of trolls follows the chief down an enormous slope of the hill, chasing Gorvan and Vilka on their Gullinburstis. Yakimma takes off with Vilka, Gorvan, and Yohan on her back as she gallops through the wide-open field with her hooves galloping through the grass. The trolls charges faster and faster through the glade and into the wide open valley. One of the trolls leaps towards Gorvan with its sword and the fisherman stabs it with his axe and tosses him into the ground. Another troll leaps towards Vilka and the Valkyrie stabs it with her sword and tosses it into the ground. The trolls shoot Gorvan, Vilka and their pets with their arrows while they’re still chasing them through the valley. The yak makes a giant powerful leap towards the edge of the mountain, and then she gallops towards the top of the mountain. The Viking fisherman jumps off of Yakimma and bangs his battle-axe on the ground, causing a giant avalanche of snow and dirt to fall on the trolls. Vilka walks towards Gorvan on the top of the mountain and said, “Wow, I don’t know if it’s the adrenaline talking, but I think we can handle anything that comes our way.”
“Could have said so better myself, Vilka.” Gorvan begins to squint his eyes and puts his hand on his forehead as he hunches his upper body downward and groans in pain. Vilka becomes shocked as she sees a stream of glowing lightning, streaming down his forehead. “Does it look bad?”
“It looks very bad! We gotta move fast!” Gorvan and Vilka hops back onto Yakimma and the yak take off towards the snowy forest glade with its hooves galloping through the grass and snow.
“So your golden battle-axe gives you an extra power boost?”
“And immortality. Every Valkyrie must have a weapon of choice to sustain their power and immortality to fight off a lot of bad guys and monsters, and no better weapon to choose from than this baby! Once I take you to the wyvern, I’ll be back in Asgard in no time.”
“Well, ok, if that’s what you wanna do.” Yakimma runs towards an enormous slope of the hill yet suddenly, the ground begins to shake. “What the? What’s going on?”
Vilka sniffs the air and replied, “Something smells like dog.” Yakimma rears up, kicks her hooves and makes a loud mooing sound. “What is it, girl? You found something?” Yohan makes a loud bleating sound to get Gorvan and Vilka’s attention. The goat points his hoof down to the bottom and all three of them see a large dog-like foot at the bottom of the slope.
“Why does this hill have a dog-like foot?”
Vilka opens her eyes in both shock and horror, “Oh…my…gods! We’ve got to keep moving, now!” The Valkyrie whips her bridle on Yakimma’s head and the yak gallops up the hill until a gigantic wolf creature called Fenrir, rises from the ground, causing Gorvan, Vilka and the two pets to fall off of his giant shoulder and into the ground. Fenrir continues to rise off the ground and stands on his four legs while he growls at Gorvan and Vilka with his teeth showing.
“Vilka, is that…”
“FENRIR!!!!” The giant black wolf roars at them with his massive jaws opening and Yakimma takes off through the forest with Gorvan, Yohan, and Vilka still riding on her back. Fenrir makes a loud howling noise and leaps towards the yak. The giant black wolf chases Yakimma through the forest and into the wide-open valley.
Fenrir pounces at Yakimma and chomps his jaws at her as he chases her through the large enormous snowy mountains of the island.
Yakimma runs faster and faster through the mountains until Fenrir catches her by the tail and pulls her toward him. Vilka turns around and shoots two arrows at his left eye and nostril. The giant beast scrapes the arrows off of his eye and nose and swipes her off of the yak. Vilka runs towards the tree, brings out a rope and throws it towards the tree branch. The Valkyrie runs up a tree, swings herself through the entire landscape and kicks Fenrir in the eye. Fenrir pounces towards Vilka and she fights him off with her sword and battle-axe while the giant wolf fights chomps his jaws to her, swipes her with his claws, and swings his head towards her. Gorvan comes in and punches Fenrir in the cheek, getting the giant wolf’s attention. Afterwards, The Viking fisherman bangs the shield with his battle-axe and the black wolf leaps towards him, swiping him up in the air. Gorvan falls towards Fenrir and the black wolf catches the battle-axe with his teeth, swinging and his head back and forth until he throws Gorvan into the ground.
Yakimma pushes Fenrir into the ground with her horns, causing him to release the battle-axe out of his mouth. The yak makes a loud angry mooing sound while standing his belly and Fenrir knocks her off her belly. The black wolf charges towards Yakimma and Yohan comes in, leaps towards Fenrir and head-buds him in the eye with his horns, causing the wolf to chomp his jaws at him until the goat head-buds him in the bottom jaw. Gorvan throws the shield at Fenrir, getting his attention to turn where he is. The black wolf leaps towards the Viking fisherman and puts his giant paw on his chest. Fenrir unsheathes his claws and raises his paw in the air until Vilka strikes a lightning bolt out of her golden battle-axe. Gorvan runs away from the giant wolf and Fenrir begins to charge towards him on the mountain. The Valkyrie jumps towards Fenrir and the wolf knocks her into the ground. Fenrir puts his paw on her chest until she blocks it with her sword and blocks his other paw with her golden battle-axe while Fenrir bites at her with his jaws. Vilka turns her back to Gorvan and said, “GORVAN, GET TO THE WYVERN! NOW!”
“What?! But Vilka, what about you?!”
“Don’t worry about me! I can handle it! Just go!”
Gorvan looks at her with worried expression on her face until he breathes in and out as the golden helmet shines on his head. Gorvan raises his battle-axe in the air and bangs it into the ground, causing the ground plates to spread from Gorvan’s battle-axe and hit Fenrir in the bottom jaw. Vilka runs towards Gorvan and the two of them runs towards Yakimma while Yohan sits on her back. The Valkyrie jumps onto the yak’s back and lends her hand towards Gorvan while Yakimma takes off. The Viking fisherman tries to reach her until Fenrir pounces on his back with his paw pressing on his spine. Fenrir slowly raises his left paw while Vilka looks back at Gorvan with a worried expression on her face. She looks at the blade of her golden battle-axe with the tears in her eyes, kisses the tip of it with her lips, and throws the battle-axe directly towards Fenrir’s chest, stabbing him and electrocuting him. The giant black wolf falls on his left side, almost dragging Gorvan with him until Vilka comes in and helps Gorvan on his feet. Yakimma runs back towards Gorvan and Vilka as they all watch Fenrir fall into a deep dark pond and sinking into the bottom with the golden battle –axe on his chest. “Your-your battle-axe.” Said Gorvan, with disbelief. “Why? I-I don’t understand. I thought that’s exactly what you wanted. I…” Vilka grabs Gorvan by the neck collar and gives him a big passionate tongue-kiss on his lips. Vilka looks at him with a romantic smile on her face and Gorvan begins to breathe hysterically while looking surprised at her. “About all that talk, of immortality, the power boost thing, the ascension to Asgard?”
“Well, I figured… what the hell.”
Later that evening, Gorvan sparks a campfire with the lightning bolt striking out of his finger and sits down by a large pine tree near the great mountains while the crickets are chirping in the background. “I guess we’ll rest here for tonight, wouldn’t you say?”
“Yeah, absolutely.” Vilka sits right next to Gorvan while sitting by the campfire. “Hm, seems like our little animal friends seem to get along just fine.” Gorvan and Vilka looks back at Yohan, head-budding an apple tree with his horns multiple times until an apple drops next to him. Yohan smiles, grabs the apple with his teeth and takes it towards Yakimma while the yak rolls her eyes and continues to eat the grass. The goat bleats with the apple in his mouth as he offers her the apple. Yakimma moos with a smile while she flaps her long eyelashes and takes the apple with her teeth. The two animals eat the apple together and nudge their muzzles to each other, softly and romantically. Yakimma lies down on the grass while Yohan rests his head on her chest while Yakimma rests her head on his neck.
“Huh, I guess they can get along well.” Gorvan and Vilka look down at their hands and then the Viking fisherman quickly releases his hand off her hand. “Oh, um. Uh, I wanted to thank you for…all that you did for me. Especially with that black wolf.”
“Well I…” Vilka pauses for a brief second, “your welcome.”
Gorvan sighs with a smile, “You single handedly sacrificed everything to get me to where I needed to go. You really didn’t have to do that.”
“Well that’s what you do as a Valkyrie. You would always guide mortals to their destiny, even if you would have to sacrifice everything you love.”
“Spoken like a true warrior queen.”
Vilka laughs innocently, “I may be a warrior, but a queen…I don’t think that’s my title.”
“Hm, I get the feeling.” The Valkyrie slowly takes off her golden helmet and reveals her beautiful luxurious straight golden blonde hair. Gorvan looks surprised and is an awe, “Woah, its like I’m seeing the real you.”
“You like?”
“Well, ha, out of all the gods, goddesses, and monsters I come across, you are the least horrifying creature I’ve ever seen.”
“Hm, alright, I’ll take that as a compliment.” Vilka slowly scoots herself over to Gorvan and rests her upper body and head on his chest with her hand around his side.
Gorvan giggles nervously and responds, “Hey, ha-ha, whatever happen to, uh, rule number two, don’t touch me, ha-ha.”
“I’m just gonna let that slide. Besides, rules like that are meant to be broken. So its best to ignore rule number two.”
“Hm, I can live with that.” Gorvan wraps Vilka into his arms and softly places his cheek on her soft luxurious hair.
Vilka snuggles herself into his chest with a warm smile on her face and with your eyes closed, “Your body is so soft! I could just sleep on it forever!”
“Yeah well no softer than yours, Blondie. I bet those arrows from those trolls almost pierced your heart.”
Vilka touches his hands and looks up to Gorvan with her crystal blue eyes staring at him in a romantic manor and replies to him in a soft tone of voice, “I’m not so sure it didn’t.”
Gorvan stares at Vilka with his green eyes staring directly at her. Their faces get closer and closer to each other with Vilka’s hands softly touching his cheeks while scooting close to him. Gorvan and Vilka kiss each other in the lips and slowly tongue-kisses each other in the mouth. Yohan and Yakimma look at them with a smile. The goat turns to Yakimma and licks her on her cheek with his tongue and Yakimma licks at him back. The two animals nudge each other’s snouts, lovingly. Gorvan and Vilka continue tongue-kissing each other, lovingly and passionately, until Vilka rests her head back on his chest, hugging him with a loving smile. Gorvan slowly opens his eyes widely and said, “Whoah mama! I can’t believe I just kissed a Valkyrie!”
“And I can’t believe I just kissed a mortal. It was nice.”
“Well, first time everything, ay?” Gorvan and Vilka laugh briefly and softly as the Valkyrie rests her head onto Gorvan’s chest.
Vilka begins to sigh, depressingly. She looks up to Gorvan and said, “Gorvan, I have a confession to make.”
“What is it?”
“I never met the wyvern.”
“You haven’t?”
“No. And this claw mark,” Vilka rolls up her sleeve and shows him the large claw mark, “That wasn’t from him, it was from my Valkyrie leader who scratched me with her sword and banished me into the mortal world, because I wasn’t good enough. I was only saying that just to sound tuff, and gritty, and intimidating, and tom boy-ish and whatever mean thing I have ever said to you, I’m sorry, I’m really very sorry, I really didn’t mean to…”
“Hey, hey, its okay. At least you’re being honest now. And it’s a good thing you’re telling me all of this before we get to the wyvern.”
“Hm, true. But I did hear of him though. A lot.”
“Really? So…what have you heard?”
“Well, for starters, he goes by the name of Willo, Willo the wyvern. And yes, he does have the power to remove the golden helmet off of your head. But the only thing is…once he does…you might even loose yourself, physically.”
“Physically?”
“But hey, in the meantime, we’ll just stay right here and enjoy each other’s company.” Vilka smiles lovingly as she softly touches his hair and his cheek. “I love this.”
Gorvan smiles back, “Me too.” Gorvan and Vilka kisses each other on the lips and the Valkyrie rests her head on Gorvan’s chest again and sleeps on him. Gorvan holds Vilka in his arms and rest his head on the tree with eyes closed until his head starts to hurt and the glowing lightning streams down on his forehead, causing him to rise out of the ground and touch his head while moaning and groaning in pain. He starts to move around uncontrollably while the pressure of his head starts to hurt him even more.
Vilka stands up, holds Gorvan by the head and said, “Gorvan! Gorvan, are you ok?! Gorvan?!” The Viking fisherman still touches his head as he continues to move uncontrollably until Vilka touches his arms, trying to calm him down. “Gorvan, look at me! Look at me! Eyes on me! Eyes on me! Focus!” Gorvan continues to groan and Vilka replies softly, “Focus.” Gorvan stops groaning as the lightning marks disappear from his head. “How is your head?”
“It feels like a thousand knives are just stabbing at my brain.”
Vilka looks worried and concerned, “Gorvan, we have to get you to the wyvern. First thing in the morning.”
Gorvan looks over Vilka’s shoulder and walk towards the peek of the hill while the sky slowly become orange and he stares at the mysterious mountain-like cave in the distance while the sun slowly rises into the sky. “No!” Gorvan replies with a determined tone of voice as he looks at the sun rising in the sky, “We have to get there, now!”
Gorvan, Vilka, and Yohan ride on Yakimma’s back through the wide-open field of the island and gallops through the forest glade. As the sun begins to rise into the sky, the small snowflake-like flurries falls slowly and softly through the land. The yak continuously gallops through the enormous slopes of the hill with her feet clipping and clopping through the grass, dirt, sand and snow while breathing through her nostrils and mouth. While riding on her through the glade, Gorvan’s head begins to hurt again and touches forehead once more. Vilka turns over to him and said, “Just hang in there.” Vilka whips Yakimma with the bridle attached to her horns. “Come on girl, faster!” Yakimma makes a loud mooing sound as she gallops faster and faster through the forests, mountains, and hills of the island of Belc. She continues to gallop through the grassy meadows and leaps over the giant rocks in her way and gallops up the giant slope of the hill. The yak runs faster and faster up the slope until she stops toward the mountain with enormous water fall with the rock plat forms on the left and right side of the waterfall. Yakimma leaps up the rock plat forms through the waterfall as she makes her ascension up towards the mountain with Gorvan, Vilka and Yohan riding on her back. Yakimma continues to leap on one rock plat form after the other with her hooves splashing on the wet rock plat forms until she finally reaches to the top of the mountain and towards the entrance of a dark and mysterious stone cave. “There it is,” said Vilka, staring at the cave in awe-struck, “The lair of the wyvern.” Gorvan jumps off of Yakimma’s back and walks towards the giant cave as Vilka jumps off the yak and walks along with him towards the entrance.
“Wow, I can’t believe I made it this far.”
“Me neither.”
“I thought it would take me about three days to get here.”
“No, just two days.”
“Okay, I’m going in.”
“Oh, Gorvan…”
“Yes?”
“This is just in case you don’t make it.” Vilka gives Gorvan a kiss on the lips.
“Well that’s the best way of wishing me luck.” Gorvan begins to sigh, “Okay, here I go.” Gorvan walks into the giant cave with a battle-axe in his hand while his feet are walking through the water. Gorvan calls out his name, “Hello! Mr. Wyvern?! Willo?! Willo the wyvern?! I’m here! Uh, my name is Gorvan, I mean no harm, and I really need your help! You see, I found this golden helmet and…” A long tail with a webbed tip at the end slides through Gorvan’s feet, causing him to fall on his back and splash into the shallow river. The long tail slides out of the river and a gigantic dragon-like creature rises out of the water as he opens and spreads his large massive wings. Gorvan, Vilka and the others look up to the giant massive dragon-like creature in awe as it rises out of the water and reveals himself to be a giant colossal blue wyvern named Willo with two horns on its head, medium sized snout, two webbed-like ears, a wide-open wingspan, two legs, and a long tail with a webbed tip at the end.
Willo looks down at Gorvan with a bold smile on his face and says with a soft yet deep baritone voice, “Hello.”
Gorvan is now in awe at his large and intimating size, “Whoah!”
Willo splashes the water into his face as he flaps his wings towards him. “Oh, please excuse me. I must be sleeping under the water for too long.” Willo hits webbed ear with the talon-like tip of his wing as the water pours out of his other webbed ear, “And you know, the funny thing about sleeping under water for a thousand years, you would need to have strongest lungs for it!” Willo laughs briefly.
“Are you Willo the wyvern?”
Willo spreads out his wings, “In the scales.” Willo laughs, “Get it? In the scales? Instead of, in the flesh? Cause you know… eh, nevermind. Anyways, what brings back to earth, Thor?”
“Well, sir, that’s the thing. My name is not Thor, its Gorvan. You see, I just found this golden helmet, I can’t get it off and…”
“Everyone sees you as the mighty Thor?”
“Yeah, all the time. Or so the legend goes.”
The wyvern puts the claw on his lower lip and utters, “Hmmm. Lets take a look at this golden helmet of yours.” Willo puts his talon-like tips of his wing on the horns and tries to yank the helmet of his head. He slowly grabs on one its horns with its teeth and tries to pull it off of his head. “Hmm, it seems as though that not even my powerful jaws can remove the helmet.”
“Well, that’s why I came all this way just to find you, so you can blast it off.”
“Eeehh, I gotta be honest with you, I do have that kind of power but its not fully charged.”
“What?”
“Well, since no one has ever stumbled into my cave and that I have zero to no energy in the during the last 15 years that I have been in this cave all my life.” Willo sits down on the ground like a dog. “Simply put, my fireball is like a spit of lava coming out of my mouth. Look.” Willo shoots a small spit of burning lava out of his mouth at a rock. “See?”
“So you can’t get it off?”
“Well, there is one specific way but I don’t think your ready for it.”
“What? What is it?”
“Look, you seem like a nice guy, I don’t want to scare you nor put you in danger.”
“Danger? Willo, I came a very, very long way to get to you! I had to fight a giant sea serpent, an army of trolls, and a giant black wolf to come and see you! I had to survive through hell and back to find you! So whatever it is…I’ll do it.”
“You sure of that?”
“I’ve never been so sure about anything in my life!”
“Very well. To remove the helmet off of your head, I must challenge you to a duel so that the adrenaline from the duel will activate my giant massive fireball out of my mouth.”
“A duel? As in…”
“Single combat? Yes. And of course, the legend of the golden helmet may be correct. But there’s more to it than that.”
“There’s more?”
“Absolutely. You see, the soul of Thor is connected to that golden helmet, which is why it will give you God-like powers and massive headaches on your head with the glowing stretch marks streaming down your forehead. By sunset today, the final headache will be so overwhelmingly powerful that it surely kill you and to allow the soul of Thor to possess your body!”
Gorvan opens his eyes in a shock-like manor with eyes opened, looking worried and petrified, “So…fighting you is the only way to get this helmet off?”
“That’s the way the legend goes.” Gorvan freezes in hesitation with his eyes looking down, “I’ll give you five minutes.”
Gorvan slowly walks away from the wyvern with a worried expression his face and in a shock-like manor. Gorvan rambles to himself, “To fight the mighty wyvern or to have this helmet to kill me by sunset. What choice do I have?”
Vilka rushes towards Gorvan inside the cave, gently touches his chest and exclaims, “Gorvan! You came such a long way! You don’t have to this!”
“Vilka, I have to do this! And I am running out of time!”
“Please! Just…” Vilka’s eyes started to water as she looks up to Gorvan, “You are the first mortal I ever talked to and the first I have ever cared about? Please! Don’t do this!” Vilka breathes in and out with a tear shedding out of her eye and whispers, “I love you! I love you, Gorvan! More than anyone or anything!”
“Vilka, I do love you, but I love you too much to see me in pain.”
“I understand.”
Gorvan turns his head towards Willo and says with a declarative tone of voice, “Willo, I accept your challenge!”
“Are you sure you want do this?” asked Willo.
“If fighting you is the only way to get this helmet off me, then so be it! I’ll give you a head-start.” Gorvan bangs his shield with his battle-axe repeatedly.
Willo opens his giant massive wings and replied, “Very well then.” The wyvern rises from the river-like ground and swoops towards Gorvan with his teeth showing until the young Viking hits Willo in the jaw with his shield. Gorvan swipes his battle-axe towards Willo and the wyvern chomps his jaws at him as well as swiping and knocking him repeatedly with his wing-like arms. Willo knocks him to the wall with his tail and flies toward him. Gorvan jumps from the ground and hits the creature with his shield as he continues to fly through the cave and grabs Gorvan by his battle-axe. Willo throws Gorvan into the river and grabs him by the foot with his tail, hitting him up, down, left and right side of the cave. Gorvan kicks his tail off of his foot and fights the creature with his battle-axe while Willo fights him off with his long and swift tail until he swipes the Viking fisherman to the wall with his wing. Gorvan falls into the ground and slowly stands up from the ground while Willo lands on the ground on his feet. “You may not like what I’m about to do.” Said Willo.
“Whatever it is, just do it!” Gorvan replied, “Get this stupid helmet off of me!”
“Very well.” Willo opens his mouth, flaps his wings as he hovers above the ground with the bright light coming from his mouth and shoots a giant massive fireball towards his head, knocking the golden helmet off of his head. As Gorvan falls into the river, the soul of Thor slowly comes out of his body.
Gorvan lies into the river while being unconscious, Vilka rushes towards his body and screams, “GORVAN!!!” Vilka picks up his upper body as her eyes started to water with tears rolling from her eyes, “NO! NO, PLEASE!” Vilka looks at his unconscious body with sadness and starts to cry hysterically on his chest. Yohan and Yakimma approach behind her and put their heads down in sadness.
Willo looks at Vilka holding Gorvan in her lap and begins to look sad, worried, and concerned. The wyvern slowly approaches towards Vilka with his eyes watering and said, “I’m truly sorry, young lady, I really didn’t mean to…”
“No! You did exactly what you’re supposed to!” Vilka responds while she cries.
“Why do you say it so sadly?”
“I never thought I would love anyone outside of myself! I never thought that I would care for someone this loving, this loyal, and this compassionate! He was the only one who saw the softer side of me! This whole time, I was selfish, and cruel, and nasty! I never thought I would love someone until now!” Vilka continues to cry on his head while she places him on his lap. Willo comes in and hugs Vilka with his wings and places his head on Vilka’s headdress with a tear rolling down his cheek.
Suddenly Willo sees something shining in front of him and says to Vilka, “Look!” Vilka wipes off her tears, looks to the other side, and sees the lightning God, Thor, walking towards Willo and Vilka with a loving smile on his face.
Vilka kneels on her knee toward him and says, “My lord,” Willo bows his head toward him in respect. Thor puts his hand on her shoulder and Vilka looks up at him with an awe-struck emotion. “Is it really you?” The lightning God nods his head ‘yes’. Willo lends Vilka Gorvan’s body and Vilka takes his body towards Thor and says, “Please, whatever you can, bring him back! He means the whole world to me. Here,” Vilka gently places Gorvan’s body on the ground. Thor brings out his mighty hammer and bangs Gorvan on his chest repeatedly with the lightning bolts striking into his chest. The lightning God bangs harder and harder into his chest until Gorvan miraculously gains consciousness and sees Vilka with a smile on his face.
Gorvan breathes in and out with relief with a tear rolling down his cheek and says, “Vilka!”
“Gorvan!” The Viking fisherman and the Valkyrie give each other a big loving hug and a kiss on the lips. “Are you back as a mortal? Are you, you?”
“Yeah! Yeah, I’m me again! And my head doesn’t hurt anymore!” Thor clears his throat to get Gorvan and Vilka’s attention and the young Viking lends him his golden helmet. “Oh, sir, I can’t thank you enough for bringing me back to life, and I gotta be honest, it really wasn’t easy nor responsible for me to harness the power of this helmet. And… I believe this belongs to you.” Gorvan gives Thor the golden helmet and the lightning God places the golden headdress on his head as the light shines on his head.
Thor speaks to Gorvan with his deep yet calm tone of voice, “And I can’t thank you enough for getting me this helmet, young man. And because you freed me from the helmet’s power, I would happily reward you with this.” Thor brings out a silver Viking helmet with horns on it from his left side and lends it to Gorvan. “And don’t worry, it won’t get stuck on your head nor does it have God-like powers.”
Gorvan looks at the silver helmet and respond, “Hmm, I guess silver is definitely my color.”
Thor turns towards Vilka and said, “And Vilka, for assisting this young mortal to the wyvern, and going above and beyond the call of duty, I would happily reward you with the highest honor I can bestow.” Thor brings out the golden battle-axe from his left side and gives it to Vilka, “The golden battle-axe of truth.”
Vilka opens her eyes in disbelief and whispers, “Wow!”
“And I would like to welcome you back to Asgard on my chariot.” Thor’s chariot pulled by two goats, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjostr, flies all the way down to the entrance of the cave.
Vilka looks into the blade of her battle-axe and respond, “I…I appreciate the offer my lord…and I love this battle-axe so much, but I couldn’t be anyone or anything without Gorvan. My best friend, my loyal companion, my fighting buddy, and my first and only love.”
“So you don’t want your battle-axe?”
“No, I do, its just…going back to Asgard, with no friends, no one to love, and…”
Thor puts his hand up and replies, “Say no more. Your welcome to visit Asgard anytime you want.”
The Valkyrie smiles happily and bows toward him, “Thank you, my lord.”
“Well I better back to Asgard, they’ll be wondering where I’ve been all these years.”
“Safe travels, mighty Thor,” Gorvan added.
“Safe travels to you, Gorvan.” Thor walks into his chariot, wipes the two goats with their bridle and flies all the way up to the clouds.
“Well, that worked,” said Vilka, “But we’re still stranded in the isle of Belc with no longboat to get back with.”
“Longboat?” Gorvan asked as he turns his head to Willo, “I don’t think we would need a longboat.”
“Excuse me?” Willo asked.
“How about it, Willo. Would you fly us all the way back to Scandinavia?”
“Scandinavia? You mean, the land of the Vikings? I-I don’t think I can go that far! I’m not even supposed to leave the cave! Wha-What if they don’t like me? What if they attack me? Or kill me? Or…”
“What if they would see the good side of you by bringing us to the village, unharmed.” Vilka added.
“What are you saying?”
“If this journey has ever taught me anything,” Gorvan replied, “Is that you should never ever doubt your abilities and just go for it! Take the plunge! Take the chance if you have to!”
“You mean, I should never ever assume the worst and just go for it?”
“Yes. Even when it seems impossible, just try it.” Willo looks at the exit of the cave while looking worried and nervous and slowly nods his head. The wyvern opens his wings and bends his giant body over, allowing Gorvan and Vilka to ride and hop on his back. Willo walks towards the exit of the cave with Yakimma walking along with him while Yohan rides on her back. “Oh and don’t forget to carry Yakimma and Yohan.” Willo flies onto Yakimma’s back, grabs on to her with her feet, and looks all the way down to the bottom of the mountain, nervously.
“Are you sure that I can do this?” The wyvern asked, “I’ve never left the cave before in my life.”
“Well, first time for everything,” Vilka replied, “All you gotta do is to fly us straight to the island and then you’ll fly back home. You got this! You are the mighty wyvern after all, aren’t you?”
Willo smiles gradually, “Yeah…Yeah! I’m the mighty wyvern! Oh, man! I can do this! I can even do it with my eyes closed!” Willo closes his eyes while he holds Yakimma’s back.
“Wait, what?” asked Gorvan with eyebrow raised. Willo opens his massive giant wings and makes a loud thunderous roar with his jaws wide open. The wyvern flaps his wings while he hovers Yakimma off the ground and zooms all the way down by the waterfall, spins his body around and around and takes off into the sky with his wide open.
Willo flaps his wings and soars through the forest glade and the valley of the isle of Belc, and continues to glide through the mountain ranges, the forest, the slopes of the grassy hills and soars all the way up to the sky with clouds surrounding him. Willo slowly opens his eyes and glides through the clouds and the atmosphere while he holds Yakimma with his feet. Yohan sticks his tongue out and tastes the breeze of the air. Gorvan and Vilka stares at the clouds with amazement as they continue to ride on Willo. The wyvern continues fly through the atmosphere and spin his body all the way down to the lake until he zooms and glides through the wide-open lake. The giant beast soars over the gigantic pine trees of the forest and dives all the way to the ravine while Gorvan and Vilka are riding on his back. Willo flies pass the bottom and soars through the ravine with his giant wings opening until he flies through the exit. The flying reptile soars through the beautiful luxurious valley and towards the wide-open ocean. Willo smiles amazingly and replies, “I can’t believe it! I’m flying! Out of my own cave! Now I don’t even have to worry about…”
Suddenly, a giant living stone statue rises out of the water, and reveals to be a statue of a Viking warrior called the guardian with a sword and shield. Willo to fly pass the guardian and the guardian knocks the wyvern with his sword, causing him to fall into the ocean until he opens his wings and zooms towards the ocean. The giant stone guardian runs towards the wyvern with his giant feet running and splashing through the ocean. Gorvan looks behind him and says, “Whoah! What the heck was that?!”
“The giant stone guardian! The very reason why I never left the cave! Odin wanted no mythical creature to leave the island of Belc so he built this giant stone guardian to catch anyone who tries to escape!”
“But doesn’t he supposed to know that you’re only dropping us to Scandinavia.”
“He doesn’t care! All he knows is bringing every mythical creature back to the island or else!” The stone guardian charges closer to Willo while he jogs through the ocean and swipes his sword toward them. Vilka shoots her arrows at the guardian until he slices them with his giant sword. The guardian jumps seven feet in the air and lands into the ocean with the giant wave of water, chasing the wyvern through the ocean. Willo continues to zoom through the ocean with his wings and continues to fly faster and faster towards the Scandinavian island.
The Viking villagers of the ocean looks at the giant stone guardian chasing the wyvern in the distance and reacts horrifyingly as Willo zooms closer and closer towards the shore until the stone guardian knocks the wyvern into the ocean with his shield. Willo, Gorvan, Vilka, and the others fall into the ocean. The dragon-like creature grabs Gorvan, Vilka and their two pets and flies out of the ocean as the stone guardian marches towards the Scandinavian village. The Vikings bring out their weapons and archery as they rush and attack the giant until the guardian kicks the Vikings with his giant foot.
The other Vikings release their stone catapults and shoots at the guardian in the face until the pieces of his face hovers all the way into his face he raises his sword in the air until Willo shoots a fireball to the guardian’s face and flies toward him. The guardian tries to catch the wyvern while the flying reptile flies around and around and breathes fire into his eyes until he knocks him over with his shield. Gorvan jumps from the wyvern’s back and breaks off the guardian’s nose with his axe until he falls into the bottom. Vilka catches Gorvan with the rope and throws him onto Willo’s back. The Valkyrie jumps from Willo while raising her battle-axe and sword towards the guardian and stabs him in the chest. Vilka releases her sword and axe off of his chest and the guardian roars at her with the wind blowing from its mouth, causing her to fall into the ground until she lands safely on Willo while flying pass the guardian.
The stone giant knocks the wyvern into the ground, causing Gorvan to fall to a pile of scrolls. While Gorvan slowly rises from the ground, he sees a scroll of a Valkyrie tying up a troll with her rope that would give the troll a command. The Viking fisherman opens his eyes in realization and says, “That’s it! I know I how I can beat him.” He rushes towards Vilka and helps her up on her feet while stone giant attacks the village. “Vilka, do you have your magical golden rope?”
“Yeah,” Vilka answered, “I always carry it with me, why?”
“I gotta plan and I just hope it works!”
“What is it?”
“Are you familiar with this?” Gorvan opens the scroll and reveals it to Vilka.
“Are you serious? That would take all day to do that!”
“Not without our mighty wyvern by our side, and don’t forget Yakimma.”
Willo looks into the scroll and ponders, “Hmm, seems crazy but it just might work.”
Vilka sighs, “I hope your right about this, Gorvan.”
Gorvan answered, “Don’t think. Just do it! No matter what!” Vilka lends him the end piece of the golden rope, “Come on, I’ll ride on Willo and grab this end piece and you’ll ride on Yakimma and hold him still with your end piece! Mortals and Gods?” Gorvan lends his hand towards Vilka and the Valkyrie claps her hand into his hand, smiling with his eyebrows meet in the middle.
“Gods and Mortals!” she responds with a determined yet confident tone in her voice. Vilka quickly hops on Yakimma’s back and the yak gallops towards the statue. Gorvan and Yohan quickly hop on Willo’s back and the wyvern flies towards the statue. As the giant massive guardian slowly walks through the village, Vilka brings out her magical golden rope and ties around his lower legs. The Valkyrie throws the remaining end piece of the rope towards Gorvan and the wyvern soars around the giant as the young Viking ties his upper body all the way up towards his chest. Vilka pulls the end piece of her rope while riding Yakimma and Gorvan pulls the other end piece of the rope while riding on Willo, causing the stone guardian to stand still with the golden rope tied all over his massive body, from head to toe. Vilka blows into the end piece; causing the magic rope to glow and making his eyes glow as he looks at Gorvan. The Viking villagers look up at Gorvan while he’s pulling the rope. Vilka shouts to the giant, “Stone guardian! Hear what he has to say!”
Gorvan speaks to the stone giant, “Guardian, I may not know you well, and you’ve done such a good job of protecting all mythical creatures, but its time to stand down! You just need to stand down! All that this wyvern is doing is delivering me straight home! This island, this place that your trespassing is my home! And I thank him so much for it! For my sake and for the people of this village, I order you to stand down, please! We mean you no harm.”
The giant statue opens his eyes in realization and looks down at the Viking villagers of the city. The statue looks back at Gorvan and nods to him. The stone giant breaks the golden rope off of him and walks directly towards the ocean and bends his giant body into the ocean. The Viking villagers cheered with excitement as Willo lands onto the peak of the cliff. Gorvan jumps off of him and runs towards Vilka. The Valkyrie jumps off of her yak and rushes happily towards Gorvan. The two couples hug each other with excitement. “We did it, Vilka!” shouted Gorvan.
“No, Gorvan, YOU did it! With or without powers!”
The cheering villagers crowds towards Gorvan and Berkheart rushes towards him, gives him a big hug and exclaims, “Gorvan! You chubby little knucklehead, that was amazing!!! Oh and did you just see Thor arriving to this island, two days ago?!”
“Yeah,” said one of the Vikings, “He had a beard and muscles and everything!”
“And he always kept saying he’s not Thor!” yelled the Viking woman.
“He always tells us to call him…”
“Gorvan?” Gorvan responds, “Yeah, I get that a lot. And don’t worry, I’m sure he’s at a better place now.” Gorvan looks up at the sky and smiles at the cloud that is in the shape of Thor’s head.
The Viking chief, Ragnus, walks through the crowd, pats on his shoulder and says, “Well done, nephew! I’m as every bit as proud as your parents would be.”
“Thank you, uncle Ragnus.”
“And because of your heroic actions today, I would proudly recommend you into the Scandinavian army,” Ragnus points to the Viking army with their sword, shield and spears, “they would use a man like you.”
“R-really?”
“Really.”
“Um, sir…can give me a few minutes?”
“Of course.”
Gorvan walks over to the giant wyvern and looks up to him with a smile, “Willo, thank you so much for everything.” He gives the wyvern a big loving hug, “I’m really gonna miss you.”
The wyvern hugs him back with his wing-like arms and responds, “Oh Gorvan, it’s been fun.”
The young Viking walks over to Yakimma and gently puts his hand on her bottom jaw while looking at her in the eyes. “You never cease to amaze me, Yakimma.” Gorvan gently puts his head on her head with his eyes closed. “Thank you.” Yakimma gives Gorvan a lick with his tongue. Yohan rubs his muzzle onto Yakimma and the two animals nudges each other on the snout. Gorvan turns over to Vilka with a nervous smile and with tears in his eyes. Vilka looks at Gorvan with her eyes watering. “Vilka.”
“Gorvan.”
The couple speaks at the same time, “I just wanted to…”
“Um…”
“You first.”
“I just wanted to, thank you for…I…don’t even have the words…I…” Vilka gives Gorvan a big loving hugs with her arms tightly wrapped around him and the Viking fisherman hugs her back. “Goodbye Vilka. I love you.” The two couples kisses each other on the lips and Gorvan slowly walks away from his friends, “Come on, Yohan.” Yohan bleats and follows Gorvan as he walks towards Chief Ragnus. “Uncle Ragnus…I…I’d…”
“They’ll be okay.” Chief Ragnus responds. Gorvan nods his head ‘yes’ with his eyes closed. “The village… will be okay.” Gorvan opens his eyes in a shock-like manor.
“You sure?”
“Hey, do whatever makes you happy, nephew.”
Gorvan looks back at Vilka with a smile and Vilka smiles back. The Viking fisherman rushes towards Vilka and the Valkyrie rushes towards Gorvan, causing them to hug and kiss each other on the lips and slowly tongue-kiss each other on the mouth. Gorvan looks at her and replies in a romantic tone of voice, “Mortals and Gods?”
“Gods and mortals.” Vilka responds romantically.
The Viking villagers walk towards Willo and stare at him in awe. One of the villagers said, “I can’t believe it!”
“Could it be?” said the second villager.
“It’s the mighty wyvern!” the Viking woman whispers.
“Look at the size of that thing!” whispered the other Viking.
“Look at the color!” said the third Viking.
Willo begins to look nervous, looks over to Gorvan, and utters, “Uhh…”
Gorvan says to Willo, “Go on. Don’t be shy.”
Willo opens his massive giant wings and smiles boldly and proudly, causing the villagers to be at awe. A little Viking girl walks towards Willo and gently touching and hugging him on his snout and the wyvern hugs the girl with her wing-like arms. The Viking villagers cheer for the wyvern as the young girl walks back to the villagers and waves goodbye to Willo.
“You see, Willo? All you gotta do is just give it a chance. Like how me and Vilka did.”
“Hm, I guess so.”
“And hey, would you mind giving us another ride?”
“Where?”
“Eh, somewhere romantic. Somewhere with no monsters around.”
“And if there are,” Vilka added, “We know exactly what to do.” Gorvan and Vilka give each other a fist bump.
“I would be honored.” Willo responded as he bends his body over with his wings opened, allowing Gorvan and Vilka to ride on his back. Yohan leaps on Yakimma’s back; Willo grabs Yakimma with his feet and takes off into sky. The Viking villagers wave their hands goodbye as the wyvern soars towards the cloud while making a loud thunderous roar. Willo flaps his wings as he soars higher and higher up the sky with the enormous clouds surrounding him. The wyvern pushes Yakimma up to the sky and yak lands safely on his feet. Willo spins his body around and around and glides through the clouds.
“Your not still worried are you?” Vilka asked.
“About the villagers?” Gorvan replied, “Nah. It’ll be fun while it lasts.”
“I’m proud of you, lightning bolts.”
“Besides when it all ends, I’ll have my good old Valkyrie here to keep me company. From the spirit world and back!” Willo continues to soar through the clouds and flaps his giant wings as he glides through the wide-open ocean and into the atmosphere. The giant wyvern zooms through the clouds and soars towards the sunset.
THE END
VIKING LORE(Travis Archer)
