I met a person yesterday, while i was busy crying, sitting on a bench. He suddenly showed up and sat beside me and started talking to me, I didn't know that person, so i started wondering that how can someone talk to a stranger that comfortably. He said to me, 'Hey! tell me what's going on in your mind, maybe I can help you with that' I turned to him and asked him that, 'why should I talk to someone whom i don't know', he told me that, 'sometimes it's better to talk to a stranger than talking to someone whom you know, it helps you' I found weight in his lines. I also found him comfortable to talk.
I told him that, 'I was sad because, i had recently diagnosed with cancer and i don't know if i will be alive or not, I don't know if i will ever be able to see my family again, my doctor told me that, anything can happen their's fifty-fifty chance that i can survive or not.'
That stranger seemed to listen my talk very attentively, He told me that, 'it's completely okay to be diagnosed with something, because what's the worse part is i lost hope. As it's worse to lose hope than to be diagnosed with cancer.' He said that, 'he wondered that why i was seeing the other fifty percent than seeing and celebrating the fifty percent that can save, me. Because there are some people who don't even have that fifty percent chance that i have.'
My perspective towards my life started changing. I was feeling more positive. He further told me that, 'why was I thinking about future and getting tensed rather than focusing on my today. No one knows what our future's gonna be. Maybe i would cure in the future and someone who is completely healthy, can die. So, i should focus on my today and enjoy the days i have left with or the ones that are coming.'
Suddenly I heard my name and turned to look who was calling me and it was my mom, she was asking me to go home and pack my bag to leave for the hospital tomorrow. I took two minutes from her to thank that stranger.
I turned around again and to my complete surprise he wasn't there. He just vanished. I ran to my mom hugged her and kissed her. In my mind i was just thanking that stranger and Waheguru ji who completely changed my
perspective towards life.
