Six Hours of Hell (Part 2)
Born 1957, F, from Mesick Michigan, United States“Crystal.”
Gently I wipe sleep from my eyes as I sluggishly awaken from my restless slumber. Slowly, I inhale a deep breath. As I exhale, I faintly hear a soft gentle whisper call my name.
“Crystal.”
I recognize that voice. But it can't be. It was only a dream! Just a dream. My body shutters as it wants to move but it can't. Struggling under my breath I utter, “You're not real. Just an imaginary character in my dream. You don't exist.”
“Oh, but I am real. Open your eyes, Crystal.”
“No, I won't open my eyes! I can't. I'm still dreaming!”
Beckoning myself to come back to reality, I yell “Wake up Crystal! Wake up from this nightmare!”
“Crystal, STOP! You are awake. Open your eyes NOW!” The Devil commands. I feel that familiar pull he has on me. Slowly I open my eyes. All at once they fill with tears as a fuzzy shadow appears, then gradually turns to the human form which I recall from our first encounter. He's tall with long black hair that reaches just below his shoulders. His dark mysterious eyes penetrate deep into the depths of my soul. Those eyes are mesmerizing and evil. Quickly I look away.
This can't be happening.
He reaches his hand out to me. I will myself to freeze, not move. But his draw is too strong. I try to resist. I can't. My body is slowly moving on its own, being pulled toward him by his intense force of evil. Closing my eyes tightly, I refuse to look at him.
“Look at me Crystal. Look at me!” The Devil demands.
“No, go away! You're not real!”
My body stops at the edge of the bed. It's difficult to breathe, think, move. Waiting for what seems like an eternity, I unwillingly open my eyes. HE'S GONE.
“Wow, what in the hell is going on? That did not just happen. it's impossible” Slapping myself along side the head a few times, I declare. “I've got to be dreaming.” My imagination is really playing tricks on me. Yet, the room has a strange presence lingering within. Shake it off girl.
“Bzzt, bzzt, bzzzt.” I jump as I hear the ringing of my cell phone. Looking at the caller ID, I see that it is my best friend and co-worker Bethanne. I answer. She begins to talk before I even say hi. “Hey, Crissy (that's what she calls me) are we still going for breakfast before our meeting?”
Straining my voice, I respond “Um, Ya.”
“What's up Crystal? I know that voice, something is wrong. I know you too well.”
I'll tell you later. Meet me at Mike's Coffee Shop and Deli around 10:00.
“OK, Crissy, see you then.” Beth replies.
Climbing into the shower, hot water calmly embraces my body as it washes the presence of a sinister entity away. But, how can something be washed away that doesn't exist. Or does it? Watching the water slide down the drain, I pray that whatever this evil is hops a ride on some slippery suds and goes back to wherever the hell it came from.
Suddenly, I feel a brush of something roll across my shoulder. I stand frozen in the hot mist. Steam is making it difficult to see. But I can feel, and there is someone or something in here with me. Without warning, hands grasp my wait, twisting me around to face whoever or whatever has me in it's grip. Screaming, I begin slapping and kicking at an image I can't see. Someone quickly grabs my arms and holds them up stopping me from showering undo pain on them.
“Crystal stop! What the hell are you doing? Why are you screaming and hitting at me. What is wrong with you? Damn girl!!”
A face comes into focus. “Oh Paul, I'm so sorry. I didn't know it was you.” I wrap my arms around his neck and begin to sob uncontrollably.
Paul is my best friend since elementary school. He's always wanted to be more than that, but we are just very good fiends.
Slowly I gain control.
We both dry ourselves as we walk into the kitchen.
“Your door was unlocked so I invited myself in.” Paul said, as he proceeded to get dressed. “Then, I heard the shower running so I figured I'd join you!”
“Oh Paul, you're such an ass.”
I notice a glow in his eyes I've never seen before, but I chalk it up to him and his long time lust for me.
“Ya, but you like my ass. Now tell me what has you so freaked out?”
“Oh, it's nothing. Just a dream I've been having.”
“Must be one HELL of a dream.”
“Ya, you could say that.”
“Well, I just stopped by to repay you the two grand I borrowed. And thanks again Crystal. You're still my best babe! You know that, right?” He shouts as he heads out the door.
Turning just in time to see him leave, I swear I saw the door open and close without him touching it. My freakin imagination again. Shrugging my shoulders, I strut back to the bedroom and finish getting ready to meet Beth at the coffee shop.
Mike's is a busy place this morning. Driving two block away from the Deli, I pull into a parking space. Grabbing my umbrella, I begin walking down the rain soaked sidewalk. It must have poured earlier in the day, but now a light mist and fog hang in the air. Picking up my pace, instinct causes me to duck as 'something' floats past me. Maybe a bird. No, I see colorful ghostly figures emerging from the light fog. They move toward me surrounding me. A darker greyish image swipes my side as it growls my name, “Cryssstal.'
“NO!!!!”
Fear makes me walk fast. Intense fear causes me to run fast.
As I get closer to the Deli, I see Beth sitting at an outdoor table under the canopy. Quickly I approach and grab her by the arm shoving her inside the coffee shop.
“Whooaa! Crystal. What is going on with you?”
“Do you see them Beth? Do you see them? Claws, fangs, horns. They're grotesque, not human!”
“See what? What am I supposed to be seeing Crystal?”
“Look they're trying to get in! Dozens of them. Don't open the door!” I frantically shout to Beth.
“I don't see anything!” Beth yells.
Creatures with fangs, red glowing eyes, crooked teeth, clawed hands, horns, spikes and some with and without hair and scales begin clawing at the door. I scream! Looking out the window, I see the 'Devil' comfortably sitting at a table, legs crossed, arms folded and a devious look on his face.
Beth grabs my shoulders, pulling me around to face her. She looks into my eyes with love and concern as she carefully replies, “Crystal, there's nothing out there. No hideous creatures trying to get in. Just people coming in out of the rain”
“NO, THEY'RE NOT PEOPLE. WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW BETH! RUN TO THE BACK DOOR!!!
“STOP!!!” Beth yells. “Look out the window Crissy.”
Cautiously, I turn toward the door. Looking out the window, I perceive that everything is normal, as if nothing happened. Did anything occur or was it my imagination again. Leaning against the window I begin to cry. Why is this happening to me?
“Its happening to you because, you know you belong to me. Your soul is mine for eternity. It is our destiny to be together. We must rule our kingdom as one My Queen. Give it up Crystal and come with Me!” The voice in my head replies.
I tilt my head down and whisper “no.”
”Crystal? Let's go to the apartment, get dolled up and head over to Gena's. We could both use a couple good strong drinks,” Bethanne says.
“Sounds like a great plan. I need a strong margarita or six.” I reply.
At the apartment we fumble through dresses trying to figure out just how sexy we wanted to look for a wild time at the nightclub.
Beth chooses a gorgeous lace trimmed sequined short sleek black strapless dress. I pick out a baby blue silk mini with a deep v-line and off the shoulder straps. We both do our makeup and fix our hair. Finally we slip into our dresses.
“You look gorgeous Beth!” I comment.
“So do you, girlfriend!” Beth replies. “That dress is beautiful and matches your sparkling blue eyes.”
“Look out guys here we come!” we announce in unison.
There's a presence in the room.
As I turn to look in the mirror, I'm startled by what I see. Looking back at me is a woman dressed in a flowing chiffon red maxi with a slit all the way up the side leg to the waist with a sexy plunging neckline and spaghetti straps. Her feet are encased in seven inch red heels with strolling thin straps which creep up her calves. I am that woman. How can this be, I don't own a dress like that.
Glaring at myself in the mirror I see and feel the Devil.
He passionately places soft kisses up and down my neck. As he teasingly nibbles my earlobe, he whispers, “My Beautiful Queen.” I tilt my neck hungering for more. Suddenly, I am released from my trance when I hear Beth call, “Are you ready Crissy?”
Looking into the mirror one last time, I see only the woman in the blue dress, me.
“Yes, I'm more than ready for a long day and night of drinks, lights, dancing and fun!” I swiftly reply.
We pull up at the nightclub. Miguel, the handsome hunky doorman, approaches and opens our car door, “Good day ladies,” he says. We respond in unison, “Hi Miguel.” I hand Tony (the valet) my keys and we head into the club. Gena's is a high class bar opened twenty-four seven. It's a very exclusive bar. Only the elite are allowed in the joint. It's run by some high and mighty Mafia dude named Franco. I dated Franco's son Ramone about four years ago. Franco likes me so I pretty much have run of the place.
The club is spectacular. The best money can buy. It's huge with three different rooms. Each room houses bands or DJ's who play the best music ever!! Sparkling lights, glistening chandeliers, gold coated dance floors, glass tables and soft leather chairs and loungers are in every room. The bartenders are awesome and will make any drink you want. Just tell them what you like.
“Holy shit Crissy look at all the hotties!” Beth announces.
“I'm looking!”
For an early afternoon on a Tuesday, Gena's is packed. There are a lot of regulars but also a few hot newbies. Many are dancing others are standing around talking and taking in the atmosphere.
Beth begins dancing with some cutie.
As I begin to scope out the crowd, I sense that someone is standing behind me. Eagerly I turn around but no one's there. I turn back around only to be face to face with the Devil.
“Hi Crystal,” the Devil whispers seductively. He slowly reaches out and grasps my waist pulling me closer to him. Arching my back, I try to pull away but can't.
“Stop.” I mutter.
“You like it Crystal.” laughing as he places kisses on my neck and cheek.
“Stop please,” I whisper. I open my eyes and gaze into his mysterious face. There's a struggle battling in my head, I want more but my conscience is telling me to run.
He places his hand in mine. “Dance with me Crystal,” he says in that charming and provocative way of his.
“No!” I yell. His grip is tight but I forcefully pull away and run. Tripping over my dress causes me to fall. Making the best of it I crawl under a corner table and pull the cloth down to the floor.
“Crystal, I'm coming for you!” I hear the Devil announce as he flies toward me. Anticipating his next move I quickly but clumsily tip over the table and dash around the corner. Immediately I slip into another dance hall. He swiftly follows but stops and leans against the wall.
Why isn't anyone helping me? Can't they see what is happening? Everyone's dancing and mingling. They're ignoring the circumstance which is taking place. Can't they hear my screams for help?
Beth is now dancing with Michaelangelo. He's one of the hot regulars. I hate to interrupt their fun but we need to get out of here. And fast! As I make my way to Beth, the Devil also makes his way over to her.
He grabs her and begins slowly dancing and kissing her. I hear Beth moaning and laughing.
“Beth!” I yell. “Run!” She looks at me. Her eyes are glazed over. Being in a state of stupor caused by his intoxicating presence she ignores me. Oblivious to what is happening she hangs on the Devil.
“Leave her alone!” I shout.
“I will leave her alone if you come with me.” He proceeds to grope her.
I try to run to her but someone grabs me. There's a hissing and prowling sound behind me as I hear another familiar voice say, “Go to him Crystal. He will free her if you go to him now.”
The woman from my dream, can't be.
“No, I won't.”
“You are willing to sacrifice your friend's soul to save your own?” The Devil growls. His eyes glow a deep red as he glares at me. He spreads out his sinister wings and tosses Beth against the wall. She falls to the floor, still.
“Naamah, bring her to me.”
The creature quickly spreads out her wings and grabs me with her sharp talons. She flies me over to the Devil.
“Now you will do as I say! Dance with me!”
Black coarse wings sprout from his shoulders swaddling me in his embrace. Eyes that glow as red as fire burn deep in the pit of my soul. Sharp talons spring from his fingers and horns appear on his head. He's transforming into a repulsive creature. His breath reeks of rotting meat. I feel like I want to vomit. I can't breathe. I can't move. I scream so intensely it causes my throat to burn.
“SHUT UP!!!!” He roars. The room trembles like an earthquake.
I stop screaming. “Just please let me go.” I plead with the Devil.
“Allow me one kiss and I will let you go. “ The Devil replies in a boisterous tone.
“You promise you will let me go?” I question.
“I promise. Let me taste the sweetness of your lips one time. One kiss is all I need.”
What does he mean by that?....One kiss is all he needs, for what? I begin to wonder. But if it gets him to leave me alone I will gladly do it.
He seizes me by the nape of my neck pulling me to him. He persists in kissing me gently. Within seconds his kiss becomes more demonically passionate. My heart is racing. My body is trembling from my senses exploding. Relaxing my body I give into his animalistic ambitions. I lean into his kiss.
Back in human form he softly whispers, “My Beautiful Queen shall we dance?”
“Yes, my darling Lucifer.”
We begin dancing. Slowly we transform together. Lucifer manifests into the most lavish creature I've ever seen. His wings are soft, shiny and smooth as rare blue Obsidain. Wings of brilliant red inundate my shoulders and gracefully slide down my body. We enfold our wings around one another in a dance of immense love. Instinctively, we begin spinning and rising in the air leaving trails of beautiful colors as we rise higher together.
“Come, my pack. The time is now.” I hear Lucifer say as we drift together in mid air.
Looking down, I see the patrons of Gena's including my best friends Beth and Paul transform into stunning and striking creatures. As they change, they float up and surround us in a show of love and respect.
The scene is beautiful. Whirling array of colors blending together gently surrounding us in their glory.
Lucifer rises higher and becomes larger than life itself. He spreads wide his bold purple/black glossy wings. Lightening bolts and thunder roars as he announces, “MY QUEEN, MY BRIDE CRYSTAL, NOW JOINS ME IN RULING OUR WORLD.” He motions for me to levitate to him. I do. “COME MEET YOUR NEW QUEEN.”
Immediately, the captivating creatures swarm me. Crying out, “Crystal, Our Queen! Hale to Our Queen."
Suddenly the floor opens. A raging fire reaches out of the openness sucking the creatures downward leaving a trail of hypnotizing colors. I watch in amazement.
Quickly, Lucifer lovingly wraps his arm around my waist. We look into each other's glowing red eyes. Instantly, two large hands reach out from the burning inferno cupping us in it's palms and pulling us gently down to Hell together as the fire slowly recedes.
I look above to see the floor closing.
The Devil spreads his masculine wings as he whispers, “Crystal, My love, My Queen, you're home. My Beautiful Queen, you will be by my side to rule our world as one for eternity.”
“Yes, My dear Lucifer. I'm home,” I respond. I wrap my fragile red wings around myself in a sign of warmth and acceptance.

06/15/2022Thank you bunches Lillian. I struggled a little with the ending. I wasn't sure if I wanted the Devil to succeed or Crystal to be strong enough to resist evil, hence to Devil. The Devil won. Your kind comments are always appreciated. Happy you enjoyed the story!

05/16/2022These two fantasy stories about a 'romance' with the devil are not exactly my cup of tea, but i think you did a fine job of imagining and writing them.
