The Creepiest Place on Earth
Born 1955, F, from Lovelock, Nevada, United StatesYou’re gonna love Lovelock. That is what a friend told me in 2012.A bold claim, sure, but one this small-but-mighty town can deliver when and if they choose to. I was also told in Lovelock Nevada if the locals like you you're safe if not death and burial will find you there.
Mr. Lovelock donated 80 acres of land for the establishment of a railroad station and townsite bearing his name. Lovelocks, as the town was originally known, was a water stop. For travelers.
When it comes to ghost towns, you’re in luck— Lovelock is surrounded by more bygone boomtowns than actual populated cities and towns.
The region became home to the Northern Paiute people who consider Lovelock Cave to be a sacred place The creature I will tell you of is also sacred. He is guardian of all nature and brother to many Paiute people.
Residents in the nearby villages of ,Jarbidge and GoodSprings,to Hamilton and Berlin, Ghost and Ghost towns are all around you. None no more true than Lovelock
Be sure to Stop in the Whiskey Creek Saloon or The Longhorn, or perhaps the Crazy Corners Dance Hall is more to your taste. Don't forget ,Look for bullet holes from a poker game gone wrong . Mountain Cemetery is very near the Crazy Corners should your fortune at cards be exceptionally good.
The small western community also thrived early on gambling. Several casinos and three legalized brothels cropped up; however, the brothels and gaming were closed by vigilante set fires with staff and patrons trapped inside
There were wild stories of a creature, said to walk on two feet, haunting the nearby Gold and silver mining camps and demolishing their equipment.Stranger equally unexplainable events occurred in the Copper and Lithium mines. There were also reports of trees that were completely ripped out of the ground, turned upside down, and thrust back into the ground with their roots facing up into the air.
Some people think the Horton Mine is haunted. Located in Pershing County, Nevada, it is supposedly the site and source of many unexplained deaths. Skeletonized corps hang from its ceiling, and waters from an unknown source burble across its dark floors where no courageous soul will walk. Allegedly Horton Mine is a direct portal to Hell.
The abandoned mine gained attention when a team of explorers made a bone-chilling descent into the Horton Mine depths. After running into an eerie mist, the explorer in the video began hearing strange whispers -- " why trespass here ? Why now?"and a French police siren -- The exploration abruptly ended. Other " unnerving, ghostly utterances ask "are you prepared to die?" and " leave"
There was once a Chinatown in Lovelock where the local Chinese lived and operated small businesses such as restaurants, gaming houses and laundries. Economic survival required them to advertise their businesses as ' White Owned.' Many of these people had come to the area years before to work on the railroads and mining when their usefulness was exhausted they were encouraged to return home. Many didn't heed the warnings and were buried in the mines or beneath the rails they laid. The fortunate were buried in the Chinese Cemetery.
A former Indian agent and amateur archaeologist convicted of looting ancient Piaute and Chinese graves in the Nevada desert sentenced and released from prisWhen he was arrested authorities said they found the headless mummified remains of two children wrapped in garbage bags and buried unceremoniously in Harelson's garden.
A U.S. Department of Interior archaeologists said at the time that Harelson's unauthorized excavations of the Elephant Mountain Cave in Nevada's Black Rock Desert destroyed the historical record of a site that was inhabited by ancestors of the Paiute Tribe for 5,000 years. He died in anonymity of natural causes.
Lovelock began to become well known as one of the creepy places on Earth Many are afraid to visit this area due to the unexplained paranormal incidents that continued to happen in this small town. And others appear drawn here .
Is Lovelock, Nevada the creepiest place on Earth, you decide.
