A silent man

A silent man(Tallisman) I’m just a silent man,
A stranger passing through
You don’t ever notice me
I mean nothing at all to you

People passing on their way
Like snowflakes in a storm
Yet I’ve known of you since that day,
the day that you were born

If you ever look my way
I wonder who you’ll see
But no one ever looks
At an old man like me

Once I made a difficult choice
And chose to walk away
On that day I lost my voice
My right to have a say

The price is to forever lose
The love that I once had
But every choice I had to choose
Turned out to be bad

Your mother, well she never saw
When I left you both behind
To go to fight a foreign war
That I had you both in mind

We fought so that you were safe
Though you never knew
A blind act of love or faith
That I can not undo

So I watch and yearn , live and hope
Maybe one day you will see
Before I slide down that timeless slope
To fade into history…
