The wind was strong, blowing my hair in my face. The weatherman said the weather wasn't going to very earlier, so I wasn't surprised. As I coughed out a mouthful of brown hair, my phone beeped. Most people are surprised I only got a phone a few months ago even though I'm twelve. (My parents are uptight.) I looked down at my phone.
In all caps it said, "TORNADO WARNING!!!!!!"
I yelped and fell off the swing I was on at Poole's Mill Park.
"O.M.G! Lillian, are you okay?" My friend asked, alarmed.
"No! Look!" I showed her my phone. (Mia is one of the few people I know that doesn't have a phone.)
"Let's get home," Mia and I said together.
Since Mia's house was closer than mine, we sprinted together to her block.
When we got there, Mia's mom beckoned us inside.
"You can't go home in this weather," she scolded me.
When we got settled in, Mia flipped on the news.
"Breaking News! A tornado is hitting Ball Ground, Georgia! Stay inside your homes at all costs!" The weatherman announced.
"Oh, no!" Mia and I cried.
"Lillian, honey, call your mom. She's probably worried sick about you," Mia's mom called from the kitchen.
My mom picked up on the first ring. As I trying to tell her where I was, the powerlines cut out.
Suddenly, there was a crash and and lots of wind.
The doors and windows shattered, leaving glass all over the floor. The couch FLEW into the air and hit me on the back of the head.
That's when I went unconscious.
