The Great Transformation
Born 2006, F, from Dallas, TX, United StatesThere was once a girl by the name of Kelly. Kelly was very popular in her school because she was the captain of the Basketball team and she thought so highly of herself, that she didn’t even listen to other people's ideas, she thought her ideas were the best. One day she got a new history teacher and she was different from the old one. When they had a group project she made Kelly do it on her own. Kelly was really happy about that, but a couple minutes later she realized that she didn't have a lot of ideas as she thought she had. She started looking around the classroom for ideas when she saw her classmates almost done with their project and felt a longing to be a part of the group's. When the bell rang for the end of the school day she went to wait for her mom. Out of nowhere a girl approached Kelly and gave her a flyer for camp. Kelly asked “Why are you giving me this?” The Girl said, “Just go there.” While pointing at the flyer. When her mom picked her up Kelly told her about what happened. “Maybe you should go,” said Kelly's mom. “Summer is coming up and I think you'll like it.” “I don't know. I'll think about it.” said Kelly Some days later it was summer and after a long time of thinking of the offer she decided to go. She arrived at Camp Awesomeness For Teens or CAFT. One of the staff members greeted her and showed her where her cabin was. The counselor was named Mandy. “Hello, I'm Mandy and I'll be y'alls counselor for the week. We’re going to have a blast.” Kelly was already regretting going and wanted to have her phone back. Mandy told everyone that it was time for Chapel. Kelly reluctantly went and she found out that she actually enjoyed it and I wanted to go back every night. On Tuesday Mandy told the girls that they had to memorize verses and that there will be a prize in the end. Now Kelly was up for the challenge and memorized all the verses then said them all to her counselor. That night at Chapel the speaker said something that she was curious about after. “I've heard That y'all have been having a verse memorization competition.” She said “Well can I tell you guys something? You may think that you're just memorizing words for a prize but you're actually memorizing God's word and you're putting his word in your heart so that you might not sin against God. Well that's all I have for tonight.” With that Chapel ended Kelly was thinking about what the speaker had said and asked the council about what the speaker meant by putting his word in their heart that they might not sin against God. (Psalm 119:11) When everyone was lying down Kelly and our counselor went out and talked about what the speaker meant and that night she accepted the Lord as her savior.
P.S. Kelly is now 22 and working for her church youth ministry.
