That's My Voice!
Born 2009, M, from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, United States"Pass me the ball!" I yell, as my friend tosses the white baseball at me.
"Runner to first!"
" I got him!" I trip and feel my face collide with the dirt. Blood streams from my nose.
"Well, maybe we call it a day," says coach. "It's been a while anyway."
"Alright."
"See ya!" I start down the sidewalk as I press my sleeve to my nose. The warm blood seeps through to my forearm. I hear a scurrying from behind the wooden fence that lines the sidewalk, but I don't see anything in the dark. But, there's something up ahead. You know how a dog's eyes shine at night? I see that same effect up ahead, but the body it's attached to seems to be a person peeking over the fence. I stop and pull out my phone's flashlight to examine the person and see who it is. I gasp as I see it. Its arms are on the edges of the fence, and it has the shape of a human man, but can only see it shoulders and above. It doesn't seem to be human. Its skin looks rough and an indescribable color that can only be said is "almost peach". It seems to border on human skin, with the color off and an odd texture. Then comes its face. It has black eyes with grey pupils, and its mouth is a lopsided frown. Its nose is almost nonexistent.
"What the...?" I wonder. But unexpectedly, it responds.
"What the...?" It says, mimicking my voice exactly.
"Hey, that's my voice!"
"Hey, that's my voice!" Then, a stranger comes up and sees the thing.
"What in the name of- AHHHHHHH!" The thing shoots some odd limb like thing. it grabs the stranger and throws him behind the fence. the thing walks out, only it's not the thing anymore. It's the stranger. It looks identical, as if it stole his form.
"Oh my god! HELP! HELP!!" I scream, but no one comes.
"Oh my god! HELP! HELP!!" It copies me in my voice again. It grabs me with the tentacle like limb, and throws me behind the fence. I black out.
When I come to, I look at myself. I have it's distorted skin, and can't speak. It's as if I replaced it. I look across the street, and see myself. I know instantly that it's the thing. It's illuminated by a streetlight, and gives me a sinister grin. It walks toward my home, copying what I would do. Like nothing ever happened.
