How a happy family life is possible
Born 1988, M, from Munich, GermanyMarriage and children are valuable gifts from our Creator. He wishes for us to have a happy family life. Therefore, he had given a long time ago advice in his holy book on how we can improve our family life. Here are some of those wise pieces of advice.
- Love your wife
"In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself, for no man ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cherishes it..." (Ephesians 5:28,29).
A good husband is not rough or demanding. Instead, he values his wife and lovingly attends to her needs. He doesn't insist on his own will, it's close to his heart that his wife is happy (Philippians 2:4). He shares his thoughts and feelings with her, but also listens when she speaks.
He does not get angry or hurt her physically or emotionally (Colossians 3:19).
Respect the husband
"…the wife should have deep respect for her husband" (Ephesians 5:33).
When a wife respects her husband, she supports his decisions, when they are not harmful to the family. She also supports him even when she has a different opinion. In this way, she promotes peace in the family. If either makes a mistake, each should remain gentle and respectful (1 Peter 3:4). If a problem needs to be discussed, both choose a good time and speak respectfully to each other (Ecclesiastes 3:7).
To be faithful to the spouse
“That is why a man ... will stay to his wife, and they will become one flesh” (GENESIS 2:24).
When a man and a woman marry, they form a close bond. Therefore, they should do their best to keep the marriage strong. This is possible through profound talks and affectionate gestures. They should also be faithful to each other because infidelity is cruel. It destroys trust and can cause great harm (Hebrews 13:4).
Loving educate children
"Teach a child which way he should go. Even when he grows old, he will not leave it" (Proverbs 22:6)
God gave parents the responsibility to prepare their children for life. They should train them on how they should act right. In this, parents should be themselves a good example. When a child makes a mistake, wise parents will not overreact. The Bible advises that we should be "quick to listen, restrained speak, and slow to anger" (James 1:19). If the child must be corrected, it should not be in anger, but lovingly.
Listen to the parents
"Children, be obedient to your parents... Honor your father and your mother" (Ephesians 6:1,2).
Children should listen to their parents and show them deep respect. By honoring their parents, children contribute to the joy and a peaceful and harmonic atmosphere in the family. Adult children honor their parents by caring for them (1 Timothy 5:3, 4).
That was a little overview of what the Holy Scriptures say about the family. However, something important must be said about this: Everyone in the family must implement these points to form a harmonious family. Because: the family is a team - together with Jehovah God.
