First date
Born 1959, M, from Stoke, United KingdomShe stands so tall, holds herself proud
She sparkles like gold in the midst of a crowd
A vision of beauty and a smile that implies
That you placed the stars that you see in her eyes
One touch of her hand and you’re walking on air
One kiss off her lips and your suddenly aware
That this is the woman that you need in your life
But afraid that rejection will cut like a knife
Your fake a casual manner but you tremble with doubt
As you ask her to join you for a dinner night out
Feel the tension mounting as she makes her decision
Expecting to face her inevitable derision
Will she or won’t she, I can’t tell for sure
Oh God, now she’s looking longingly at the door
What have I done! I’m such a fool to not see
That a girl like that’s far too beautiful for me
I stammer an apology and awkwardly leave
Only to be stopped by her hand on my sleeve
Let’s do it tomorrow, pick me up at around eight?
My heart beat in my ears as her words resonate
I’m floating high like an eagle lost in skies blue
Tomorrow at eight all my dreams will come true.

03/19/2023Sweet poem. Girls can be just as shy as guys. It's nice to see this through a man's point of view.

10/14/2022This feeling is had by a lot of guys, me being one of them. YOu have described the moments so nicely that I cannot tell. The point at which one thinks he screwed up but everything just falls in place is magical and does happen in reality. Shy guys just wait for this magic to happen.
