Unique Thanksgiving Recipes
Born 1957, F, from Mesick Michigan, United StatesAuthors note: These creative recipes were dictated to me from my lovely group of Kindergarteners. After a lesson on the first Thanksgiving children brainstormed different foods that they may have at their Thanksgiving feast. All of the completed recipes were then bound together in a book and given to each family. The recipes are written down exactly how the children told them to me. Enjoy!
Turkey
First get a turkey from a farm. Then take it to your house. First spray the stick-able spray on a pan. Then take the turkey and pull out the feathers. Then put it in the oven for 15 min. at 9 degrees. Then take it out. Then you cut the head and then, grab into it and take out the heart and yuck stuff in it. Then you put it in the oven for 3 more minutes at 1degree temperature because you don't want to burn it. Then you cool it off and eat it.
Turkey
We have to catch one and kill it. You have to take the skin off it, then you have to put some special powder on it to make it smell good. You have to spread butter on the turkey. Then you have to cook it in the oven for 15 minutes at 5 degree temperature. When the timer dings you take it out of the oven with a special pad that goes on your hand. Then you have to cool it up. Then you eat it.
Stuffing
Well, you need stuffing, stuffing kind of like whipped cream, but its stuffing. You need 1 cranberry, about 2 cups of stuffing, 100 cups of flour, some tomatoes, you need 4 more tomatoes. You need whipped cream mixed with tomato sauce, and then you need one more thing, actually two, 2 cups of milk, and then 3 cups of cranberry sauce. Then we put it in the oven and cook it for 30 hundreds of hours at 3 degree temperature. Take it out of the oven. Then you have 3 company people. Then you put it on 3 plates and then you cool it down. Then you eat it with 3 strawberries on top of it.
Pumpkin Pie
First put 1 scoop sugar in the bowl. Put 2 pounds of butter and 8 pieces of pumpkin. Then wait for 1 minute. Then put in 7 eggs. Put it in a pan. Then put it in the oven at 10-degrees temperature for 1 hour. Then take it out and put chocolate in it. Then put it in the oven again at 1degree temperature for 5 minutes. Take it out, then eat it.
Cranberry Sauce
First get 50 Cranberries and then get a straw. Put them on the straw, then take them off the straw. Smash them with the straw. Take all the wrapping out that was holding all the juice. Then pour in some sugar and then you put them into a large cup. Put a top on them and shake them and pour them out on a flatting sheet. Put them in the oven for 3 minutes at 909 degrees. Then take them out and let them cool off and eat them.
Pumpkin Soup
First, we need a pumpkin. Then you mash it. And you get the seeds out of it. Put in some baking powder, and some cherries in it, put in some pumpkin fat. Put a pan under it. Put a silver paper that goes over it. And you put it in the oven at 11
degree temperature for 2 minutes. Then you wait for it to cook. And then it's done.
Turkey Gravy
First, we get some brown bird, then we chomp the bird up. We mush it up. We stir it with some chocolate. We get some plain gravy that's flat, then we cook it for 12 hours. Then we take it out. When it gets hot, we put it on the table.
Banana Muffins
We need 7 bananas, some milk, chocolate milk, chocolate syrup, some coffee. Cook it on the stove for 15 minutes. Then add 18 eggs, then bake it at 16 degrees for 18 minutes. Take it out. Put it on the counter and leave it there for 2 minutes. Then eat it.
Apple Pie
We need 1 apple, some grapes. We need some apple juice. We put it in a pan and microwave it 7 hours. Then we take it out, say our prayers. Then we eat it.
Cherry Cobbler
We need 5 cherries and milk and I think it was cheese. Put 1 apple and about 10 strawberries and some grapes in it. Put a little tiny dip of apple juice in it, and some oil. Put 3 eggs in it. Put a little green in it. Put it in the oven at 13 degrees temperature for 14 hours.
Sweet potatoes
We need 3 ounces cran sauce. We use some mushed-up potatoes. You get some syrup and mix it all together. Put some little crumbs in it. Then you stir it up. Then you cook it in the stove at 77 degrees temperature for 77 hours. Then you take it out and eat it.
Ham Roll-ups
We need 2 pieces of ham, 1 scoop oil. Put bread on top. Wait for 10 minutes. Then put it in the oven at 21 degree temperature for 11 minutes. Then take it out. Then wait 2 more minutes. Then roll it up. Then put it in the oven again at 2-degree temperature for 9 hours. Then take it out. Share it with your friends.
Banana Muffins
We need one half cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups of salt, a little banana, probably some milk. Then pour water in your pan and let it boil for 10 minutes. When it is done boiling put the bananas and everything I said in the pot. Take it out of the pot and put it in a pan and put it in the oven. Bake at 100 degree temperature for 20 minutes, done.
Macaroni and Cheese
We need 5 yellow cheese, 5 spoons of sauce, 5 gallons milk, and 5 cups macaroni. Put it in a pan. Put it on the stove at 5 degree temperature for 5 days. Then take it off and eat it.
Deviled Eggs
Put 2 eggs in the oven at 60 degrees for 50 seconds. Then when you take it out of the oven you put hot sauce in the eggs. If you want more sour, you put salt in it. Then you serve it in a plate.
Corn Bread
We need 2 yellow-corn. Then we need 3 bowls of brown oil. Then put 1 egg in. Put some milk in it. Put it in the oven at 8 degree temperature for 986 hours.
Mashed Potatoes
We need some potatoes. You mash them with a thing sort of like a nutcracker. Put a little butter on them, a little pinch of salt. Some honey from a bee's nest. Then cook them for an hour. Then take them out and eat them.
Butternut Squash
You need 3 cups butter, 4 cups of salty nuts, and 5 of the normal kind of squash. Then you put in some salt. Then you put in some flour, put in 6 cups of water and then you stir it for 8 minutes. Then you cook it in the oven at low temperature for 6 minutes. Then you test it. You put in a spoon and see if it comes out clean. Then you put it in something that won't crush it. Then you eat it.
Banana Bread
You need 10 cups of oil, then you put 12 yellow bananas in it. You have to take the outside off. Then you put it in the microwave for 10 minutes. Then I think you bake it at 2226 temperature for 22 minutes then you're done.
Apple Pie
We need 3 gallons of cinnamon, 10 apples cut up, some eggs,1 gallon sugar in it. Add some tomatoes, and 2 butters, 6 blueberries. You have to find a bowl to put it in. Then cook it on the stove at 22 degrees for 97 hours. Then we take it off the stove and eat it.
Happy Thanksgiving!

11/26/2024Aloha Shelly,
Well if you aren't both smiling and drooling at the end of this story, maybe you didn't have good Thanksgiving Dinners. We are making a slew of "side dishes" for our family dinner. My daughter and her hubby are making the Turkey, stuffing, and breads. Kathy is making four kinds of pies- as each of us has a favorite. Everything made from scratch, right down to the gravy.
the "good China" is at our house, so we won't use that this year. LOL
Loved it. Smiles, Kevin
