Yeehaw!
Connor Johnson
The sun’s rays glared down on Johnny as he stumbled his way through the canyon. Vultures circled ahead waiting patiently for their next meal. Dehydrated and dazed, he looked for a cave or anything to cover him from the sheer, unforgiving sun. Skeletal remains of life surrounded him as he trekked through the land. That's when rocks fell and knocked him off the cliff. As he fell he tried to scream but couldn't. His mouth opened but no sound came out.
He woke up sweating, panting, and mind racing. The sun shone through the half opened blinds. Johnny stretched and got out of bed. Equipped with his trusty revolver and hat, he hit the town. His spurs clicked and clanged in the dry dirt as he walked, traversing his way to the saloon. An eagle cried in the distance as he spotted his arch nemesis, Rohnny.
Their eyes met from across the town as Johnny entered the saloon. Sounds and smells of drunks surrounded him the second he walked in. Johnny took a seat at the bar knowing what was coming. Johnny took a deep breath and fled the salloon. Hopping on his horse he made a quick escape. His horse Bohnny, ran like the wind and felt the wind scrape her neck, with her mane flowing in the wind.
Gunshots sped past her as Bohnny ran. It was as if time slowed down when she caught a bullet in her leg and collapsed. Johnny was launched off of her and landed near the train-tracks, when he heard. The train-tracks were rumbling and soon, the sound of his own thoughts were overwhelmed by a train speeding by. Shortly after falling, Johnny stood up and pulled his revolver. He Pulled the trigger twice to let 2 shots fly, hitting Rohnny’s horse. Rohnny was ejected from the saddle of his horse and was trapped under his horse. Struggling he finally got his horse off of him when he stood up and missed another shot. Johnny smiled as Rohnny aimed his gun another time.
Rohnny pulls the gun and… Click. Rohnny ran out of bullets. Slowly Johnny raised his gun into the sky and fired 3 of his remaining bullets. The hunt has turned into a fist fight. The train was still rumbling by, he couldn’t make out what Rohnny was saying to him but he assumed it was an insult of some form. Johnny approached the stumbling Rohnny and jabbed him in the gut. Blood was spit from Rohnny’s mouth. Johnny did it again, and again, with no end in sight. Johnny finally ending his attacking spree, stared down on Rohnny’s half-conscious body and put a final bullet into Rohnny’s skull to end the quarrel once and for all. Johnny brushed himself off and walked back to the town with a smile on his face and he cried out for the world to hear, Yeehaw!
