Rubbernecking Ronald
Born 1973, M, from Ocoee, Florida, United StatesRonald held a wandering eye, always looking in the direction of something soft and round. Curves, curves and more curves in Ronald's sight line, vision never blurry but always in a hurry. Ronald's hurry was evoked by, a long lasting longing for lust in his loins. He rarely swooped in and grabbed his prey, Ronald was no hawk. He just loved to leer and gawk. Victorious voyeur, his transgressions were usually undetected and therefore victimless, so he remained shameless. Lady Leslie, the love of his life, provider and wife, recognized her husband's creepy vice. Husky, busty bride threatened to have his hide if he ever ventured to the other side. Infidelity Leslie would not accept and she knew that looking led to conversing and then conversations would lead to intercourse. As he peered, she stayed near, sure to see what he was seeing. Too long of a look is all that it took to bring Ronald's little world crashing down. Now I share with you a tale of the fool jester on whose behavior we frown. Ronald Rubbernecks no more, lost the ability to score, permanently he has been set down. No longer a lookie-loo, the dirty deed he cannot do, so he sadly sheds the crocodile tears of a clown.
“I am tired of you disrespecting me by breaking your neck to look at every woman you see. Ain't nobody checking for you anyway Ronald.”
Ronald scoffed as if there was no truth to Leslie's statements. Then his attention was drawn away by the woman in the car next to them. He stared at her bust line as he sat at the light being scolded. The woman had her head turned, speaking with the driver. Ronald didn't care, his eyes were trained on the front of her well fitting blouse. She filled it well. Leslie snapped him out of his fantasy.
“Ronald!”
He jumped.
“You see! Here you are driving my car and sitting here staring at the woman in the next vehicle. I am so sick of you! When are you getting your car out of the shop anyway? Every time I turn around, I have to pay for something to be fixed on that junk car. Well I'm not doing it this time, you need to find a way to make three-hundred dollars so that you can get it out.”
Ronald didn't say a word, he just kept driving and looking.
“I am tired of you using me Ronald, you don't keep a job and you don't contribute. You're supposed to be the man and provider but you don't provide nothing but another mouth for me to feed. I never had a baby but I feel like you're my son because I am raising you and you can't even show me the respect of not looking at any and every trick you can find.”
Ronald sped up and got over so that he could get a look at the woman in the car in the turning lane. Leslie knew what he was doing.
“You need to keep your eye on the road and drive safe. Stop speeding in my car. You know if you crash it you can't pay for...”
Ronald didn't hear another word that she said because he spotted the one he was hoping to see. She was wearing those leggings that he loved so much too. She was tall but thick and he could see her back from the front. Oh what he would do to...
“Crash!”
That was the last sound Ronald heard before waking up in a hospital bed in excruciating pain to his arms, back and chest. Terrified he became when he came to the realization that he couldn't feel the rest. After realizing his plight, he let out a scream and in rushed the medical team. Sedated, faded yet far from elated, he wondered why he was all alone. He tried to reach out to his wife, his queen on the throne, but he could never get her on the phone.
Divorce papers were delivered to him just a few days later and when he read them he thought he might die. Leslie no longer wanted to be his lady and he didn't understand quite why?
He needed her now more than ever before but it would seem that his Husky Honey had cut him off from the hive.
Months later, wheeling himself up the block and guess who he'd spot, way in the distance. He knew that walk, shapely body approaching him in those legging pants with a sexy stance. She was why, his steps were cut short and well ran dry and here she was again about to pass him by. No longer needing to spy, he could see her now eye to eye, but Ms. Leggings wasn't quite so fly. There must have been a cataract or sty on his eye, oh my my my. Looking closer he could almost cry, when he realized, Ms. Leggings was actually a guy!

05/16/2023As a fan I really crave the satisfaction of justice in the conclusion of a story. I often attempt to offer it in my stories as well. I believe Ronald sealed his own fate. Thank you for your insight Valerie.

05/12/2023That was sad and hilarious at the same time. Some men are just too stupid to understand how ridiculous and destructive their womanizing is... until they are forced to learn the hard way. And some men never learn. Great short, Cam. Happy short story star of the day.
