Game of Trust
Born 2009, M, from Kerala, IndiaThe six of them woke up in a dark and cramped room, feeling disoriented and confused. There were no windows, only one door, and they realized they were not alone.
"There are five of us here. Who are you?" asked the first person, a tall man with a stern expression.
"I'm Anne," replied a timid-looking woman with curly hair.
"I'm Mest," said a young man with a cocky smirk.
The remaining two introduced themselves as Lila and Alex. They were all strangers, and none of them knew why they were there.
Suddenly, they heard a gasp, and all of them turned to see the lifeless body of a woman lying on the floor.
"What happened? Who did this?" Mest exclaimed.
The door burst open, and they all rushed towards it, hoping to escape. But to their horror, they found a message scrawled on the wall beside the exit.
"To escape, you must find the killer and say their name in unison five times."
The group was trapped, and they knew they had to work together to find the killer. But suspicion and fear began to grow among them, and accusations were thrown back and forth.
"Maybe it was Mest. He seems like the type who would do something like this," Anne whispered to Lila.
Lila shook her head. "I don't know. It could be any of us."
Days passed, and the group became increasingly desperate. They searched for clues and interrogated each other, but they couldn't find the killer. The tension in the room was palpable, and they all felt like they were going insane.
Finally, they all came to a realization. They had to work together, or they would never escape.
"We have to trust each other if we want to get out of here," Alex said, his voice shaking.
The group began to put aside their suspicions and worked together to find the killer. And as they repeated the killer's name in unison five times, the door suddenly opened.
As they stepped out of the room, they found themselves in a dark and eerie corridor. The walls were lined with twisted branches, and the air was filled with the stench of decay. They had no idea where they were or what was going on, but they knew that they had to keep moving forward.
As they walked down the corridor, they began to hear strange whispers and creaks in the darkness. They tried to ignore it and focus on finding a way out, but the noises grew louder and more unsettling.
Suddenly, they came to a door, and as they pushed it open, they found themselves in a dark forest. The trees were gnarled and twisted, and the ground was covered in a thick layer of fog.
They could hear a faint rustling in the distance, and as they moved closer, they realized that it was a figure lurking in the shadows. It was the killer, and they were now face to face with the one who had brought them to this nightmare.
The killer laughed as he revealed his true identity. It was none other than Mest, the cocky young man whom they had suspected from the beginning.
"I always knew it was you," Anne said, trembling with fear.
Mest grinned. "You fools never stood a chance. I lured you here to play my little game, and now you're all going to die."
The group tried to run, but Mest was too fast. He chased them through the forest, brandishing a knife and cackling with glee.
Just as it seemed like all was lost, they stumbled upon a clearing. In the center of the clearing, there was a strange object that glowed with an otherworldly light.
Without thinking, they all reached out and touched the object, and suddenly, everything went black.
When they opened their eyes, they found themselves back in the room where they had first woken up. The body of the dead woman was gone, and the door was wide open.
They all stared at each other in disbelief, unsure of what had just happened.
"Was it all just a nightmare?" Lila asked, her voice trembling.
As the group stepped out of the room, they found themselves in a long, dimly lit hallway. The walls were covered in cobwebs, and the air was thick with the smell of decay. They cautiously walked down the hallway, but soon realized that they were not alone.
In the distance, they could hear the sound of footsteps, slowly getting louder and louder. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was the woman who had been dead in the room before, but now she was alive and walking towards them with a cold, menacing look in her eyes.
The group froze in terror as the woman got closer and closer. But just as she was about to attack, she suddenly disappeared into thin air.
"What the hell was that?" Mest shouted, his voice trembling.
As they continued down the hallway, they came across a door that was locked tight. They searched the area for a key, but all they found was a small note attached to the door.
"Only the pure of heart shall pass," the note read.
The group exchanged nervous glances. They had no idea what this meant, but they knew that they had to find a way through the door if they wanted to escape.
They tried to think of what "pure of heart" could mean. Anne suggested that maybe they had to confess their sins, but the others weren't so sure.
Just then, they heard the sound of a baby crying coming from behind the door. They pushed and pulled on the door with all their might until it finally opened, revealing a small nursery room.
In the center of the room was a crib with a baby inside, crying uncontrollably. As they approached the crib, they realized that the baby was not human, but a grotesque monster with razor-sharp teeth.
Before they could react, the monster baby leapt out of the crib and attacked them, its jaws snapping with a sickening sound.
They fought for their lives, but the monster seemed unstoppable. Just when they thought it was all over, the monster suddenly disintegrated into dust, leaving behind only a small note.
"You have passed the test," the note read.
As they moved further through the twisted labyrinth, they found themselves in a room with no way out. The walls were closing in on them, inch by inch, threatening to crush them all.
They panicked, trying to find a way out, but there was none. They were about to be crushed to death when suddenly, the walls stopped moving.
They looked around in confusion, and that's when they realized that the room was not actually getting smaller. It was an illusion, meant to scare them into turning on each other.
The group was relieved to have escaped the trap, but they were still no closer to finding a way out of the nightmare they had found themselves in.
Just as they were about to give up hope, they stumbled upon a book lying on the ground. It was a journal, written by the person who had brought them all to this place.
As they read through the journal, they discovered that the person behind all of this was none other than Anne. she had brought them all here as a sick experiment, to see how they would react in a life or death situation.
The group was horrified, but before they could confront Anne, they heard a loud noise coming from outside the room. They cautiously opened the door, and that's when they saw it.
The group huddled around the crib, unsure of what to do. The baby's cries grew louder, and they could see tears streaming down its face.
"We have to do something," Lila said, her voice trembling with concern.
But as they got closer to the crib, they noticed something strange. The baby's skin was a sickly green color, and its eyes were glowing a bright red.
Suddenly, the baby stopped crying and looked up at them with a sinister grin on its face.
"It's not a real baby," Alex said, his voice filled with dread.
As they tried to back away, the room suddenly shook, and the door slammed shut behind them. They were trapped again, with no way out.
The air grew thick and heavy, and they could hear strange whispers in the darkness.
"We have to get out of here," Anne said, her voice shaking.
They searched the room frantically for a way out, but all the windows were barred, and the door was locked tight.
As they turned around, they saw that the baby was no longer in the crib. It was crawling towards them with an unnerving speed, its eyes fixed on them with a malevolent stare.
The group backed away, their hearts pounding in their chests. But as they stumbled towards the wall, they noticed something strange etched into the bricks.
It was a symbol they had never seen before, but they could sense that it held some kind of power.
"We have to use the symbol," Lila said, her voice filled with determination.
They closed their eyes and focused on the symbol, channeling their energy towards it.
Suddenly, a bright light filled the room, and they found themselves back in the hallway.
But they weren't alone. The baby was still there, crawling towards them with a hungry look in its eyes.
"We have to keep going," Alex said, his voice determined.
They pushed past the baby and continued down the hallway, but the air grew colder, and the whispers grew louder.
As they walked, they heard strange noises coming from the walls, like something was trying to break through.
Suddenly, they came across a room with a large wooden door. As they approached the door, they could hear strange chanting coming from the other side.
"What do we do?" Anne asked, her voice filled with fear.
"We have to find out what's going on," Mest said, his eyes filled with a crazed look.
As they pushed open the door, they found themselves in a large, candlelit chamber. In the center of the room was a group of people dressed in black robes, chanting in a language that none of them understood.
At the front of the group stood a tall, imposing figure. It was the killer from before, but he looked different somehow. His eyes glowed with an otherworldly light, and his skin was a sickly green color.
The group froze in terror as the killer turned to face them.
"I see you've all finally arrived," he said, his voice filled with malice.
"Who are you?" Lila asked, her voice shaking.
"I am the master of this realm," the killer replied. "And you are all mine to command."
The group gathered around the crying baby, unsure of what to do. None of them knew how to take care of a baby, let alone in this bizarre situation. The room was small and cramped, with a rocking chair in one corner and a changing table in the other.
"We can't just leave it here," Lila said, her voice filled with concern.
Anne nodded in agreement. "We have to take care of it until we find a way out of here."
Mest rolled his eyes. "Are you kidding me? We have more important things to worry about than some stupid baby."
But Alex stepped forward. "No, they're right. We can't just abandon it. We have to take responsibility for our actions and take care of this child."
Reluctantly, Mest and the others agreed, and they set about trying to care for the baby as best they could. They took turns rocking it to sleep and changing its diaper. They found some formula in a cabinet and fed it to the baby, hoping it was enough to sustain it.
Days turned into weeks, and the group's situation only grew more dire. They found themselves constantly on edge, never knowing what would happen next. They searched the nursery room for any clues as to what was going on, but all they found were a few toys and a mobile hanging over the crib.
As they were changing the baby's diaper one day, they noticed a strange symbol etched into the wooden changing table. It was a circle with a line through it, and they had never seen anything like it before.
"What do you think it means?" Anne asked, studying the symbol.
"I have no idea," Alex replied, shaking his head. "But it must be important if it's here."
Mest scoffed. "This is all just some sick game. There's no deeper meaning to any of this."
But the others refused to give up hope. They knew that they had to keep searching for a way out, for the sake of the baby and themselves.
One day, they heard a strange noise coming from the hallway. It was a faint humming sound that grew louder and louder. They cautiously made their way out of the nursery room and towards the noise, hoping it was a way out.
As they turned a corner, they saw a bright light at the end of the hallway. They ran towards it, hoping it was the exit they had been searching for.
As they got closer, they saw that the light was coming from a strange portal. It was a swirling vortex of energy, with tendrils of light reaching out in all directions.
Without hesitation, they stepped through the portal and found themselves in a bright, open field. The sun was shining down on them, and the air was filled with the sound of birds chirping.
They looked around in amazement, not quite believing that they had made it out. But as they turned back to the portal, they saw that it was slowly closing.
"We have to go back," Lila said, her voice filled with urgency. "We have to take the baby with us."
The group approached the crying baby in the crib, unsure of what to do. They could see that the baby was alone, and there was no one else in the room. Lila picked up the baby and tried to soothe it, but it continued to cry.
"What do we do? We can't just leave it here," she said, looking at the others.
Mest rolled his eyes. "It's just a stupid baby. We don't have time for this."
But Anne was already examining the crib, looking for clues. "There's something here," she said, pointing to a piece of paper under the mattress.
The group gathered around as Anne unfolded the paper. It was a note, written in elegant cursive.
"Congratulations, you have passed the first test. You have shown compassion for the innocent. But there are more tests to come. And beware, for the shadows are watching."
The group exchanged nervous glances, realizing that they were in for much more than they had bargained for.
As they left the nursery, they found themselves in a long, dark hallway. The walls were covered in strange symbols, and the air was thick with an ominous energy. They heard the sound of whispers and footsteps echoing through the darkness, and they knew that they were not alone.
Suddenly, they heard a scream, and they all ran towards the sound. They found themselves in a room filled with mirrors, and in the center of the room was a woman, screaming in terror.
"What's happening?" Lila asked, looking around the room.
"I don't know, but we have to help her," Alex said, rushing towards the woman.
As they approached, they could see that the woman was trapped in a maze of mirrors, and she couldn't find her way out. The mirrors seemed to be shifting and moving, confusing her even more.
"We have to find a way to get her out," Anne said, studying the mirrors.
Mest scoffed. "Why bother? It's not our problem."
But the others ignored him and started to examine the mirrors, trying to find a way to break the maze. After a few minutes of trial and error, they found a pattern in the mirrors, and they were able to guide the woman out of the maze.
As soon as she was free, the mirrors shattered, and the room was plunged into darkness. When the lights came back on, they found themselves in a completely different room. The walls were lined with bookshelves, and in the center of the room was a large table with a book resting on top.
They approached the table and opened the book. Inside, they found a list of names, along with strange symbols and numbers.
"What does this mean?" Lila asked, looking at the others.
Anne studied the symbols. "I think it's some sort of code. We have to decode it."
As they worked together to decode the symbols, they heard the sound of footsteps approaching. They looked up to see a hooded figure standing in the doorway, watching them.
"Who are you?" Alex asked, stepping forward.
The figure didn't reply. Instead, it raised its hand, and the room was suddenly filled with darkness.
When the lights came back on, the figure was gone, and the group was left with more questions than answers. But they knew that they had to keep moving forward if they wanted to escape.
And so, they continued on their journey, facing new challenges and tests at every turn. But with each challenge, they grew stronger and more determined. They knew that they had to stick together and trust each other if they wanted to make it out alive.
And finally, after what felt like an eternity, they found themselves outside, under the open sky. They looked at each other, tears streaming down their faces. On the other side, Mest's lifeless body was lying beside them.
Lila spoke up, "Come on, let's get back to our homes. We can't cry for Mest, he deserves to rest in peace."
