Story

Both boys stared at the dark clouds swirling around them, thundering past the barren land. Standing beside the temples’ walls, the brothers took one last glimpse of the obsidian locket before the ground began to shatter.

Blaze

( Ena )

“She’s coming! She’s finally coming!” I sprint while narrowly avoiding the mass of servants passing to and fro. From the corner of my eye I see a huge blur of white. Braking as hard I can, I fling myself toward the stable doors landing into a pile of hay, “-Oof!” While trying to pull myself out I hear a soft whimper from the wolf standing in front of me. “Oh Sunny, it’s not your fault I should’ve slowed down,” Immediately her yellow eyes light up followed by a wet tongue licking my face. “-Ack, Sunny!” I start to whine while holding her back. “Did you hear? Mom’s finally home! Come on!”

With the rhythmic click of my boots on the cobblestone floor I enter my bedroom. I grab a spyglass sitting idle on my shelf and peer into the eyehole, shoving thick strands of orange hair out of my face. Glittering by the bright sun I spot fiery orange hair swaying in the breeze. Dropping everything, Sunny and I make a dash to the front gates passing the huge wagons bumping along the road. After reaching the main square, Sunny and I stand in awe. Looking down upon us, a tall figure in priming armor begins to smile, like the radiant sun. “Hello Ena,” she beams. I run towards her wrapping my arms around her. “I missed you,” I whisper. “Me too dear, me too,” she repeated while returning my embrace. “Now let’s get home shall we?” She adds while plucking the loose straws of hay out of my braids.

Terra
( Avani )

“Well what do you think?” Father asks while fidgeting with his hands. Mother glances up at me to read my reaction. I selectively choose my words before speaking, “What I think is that this is the kind of opportunity we’ve all been waiting for and one we cannot throw away, of course we need this alliance! Especially with Blaze, being one of the strongest nations, it can benefit our people greatly,” “But,” Father interjects, “what if this is some sort of ploy to get our riches?” Irritated I look up to the hand painted ceilings, intricate signs that most often times help calm my mind. “Queen Hestia has all of the gold she needs, she’s just being more tactical,” Finishing with that final thought I got up and left to the garden. Passing through lush groves of vegetation I gently sit by the fountain looking calmly into the crystal clear water. Dipping my finger into the water I immediately cool down listening to the birds conversing and the wind giving way through trees.
