Subject 87-Z
Born 2005, F, from Buckley, United StatesI awoke to the sound of voices unfamiliar to me. I looked around drowsy. Once I woke up more I found that I was in an unusual room. It was small from what I could tell. I winced in pain as I moved slightly. I finally sat up and felt like pins and needles were being thrown at my body with a slight tingling feeling. Every time I moved, pain coursed through my body. When I stood my legs felt like they'd buckle underneath me at any moment. I quickly sat on the bed that was provided by whoever brought me here. My eyes shifted from my stomach to the door where there stood a scientist with guards behind him. I froze in place, was I in a lab of some sort? Where was I? I had so many questions before I could open my mouth the guards grabbed me and dragged me through the hall. My legs pulled behind me suddenly I was strapped to a table I was about to start thrashing around when I remembered what my father had said 200,000 years ago.
My father had called me down for a talk and I being the stubborn 25 year old went to my father he sat me down and sat down himself “My son If you are ever captured and strapped to a table do not give what they want do not struggle do not yell for help do not give them a reaction just let them do what they need to do” I looked at him like he was crazy “Why would I do such a thing? I'd rather squirm and yell for help trying to get free” My father sighed and said “My son there are dangers out there that I may not be able to save you if you think I'm playing ask me how I got a gash on my forearm all they want from you is the satisfaction of you suffering” That's when it had hit me I lowered my head a bit accepting what he had told me.
I looked at the scientist trying so hard not to give them the satisfaction they so desperately wanted from me, and I made it very clear to them I won't be giving any reaction which surprised them, and in return, they injected me with a weird substance it burned within me. They took me back to my tiny room when they left me alone. I held my stomach and groaned. I was soaked in sweat and breathing heavily. I felt like I was going to be split apart. I bundled myself up and tried to fall asleep. When the pain subsided a few minutes later I was able to fall asleep.
“Daddy? Daddy wake up!” I shook my father desperate for him to wake up. When he jumped awake in surprise he looked at me and saw the tears forming in my eyes. He picked me up and held me close. “It's okay my son im here, It's going to be ok,” my father said as I clung to him tears soaking through his shirt “Hey hey,” he said in a cooing tone lifting my head a bit “It's almost your sixth birthday there no need for tears,” he said wiping my eyes. “Look your sibling is even telling you it's okay,” he said setting a hand on his belly showing the little movements in his belly “Or it could be because I kinda scared you, Daddy,” I say hugging his belly I heard my father chuckle as he sat his hand on my back and head.
I awoke to the sound of an alarm going off, startled I fell off the bed when I got up I looked around seeing guards running back and forth over and over. One of them was shaking in their boots. I tilted my head a bit seeing a male running trying to escape the scientists. That plan soon failed as the male got thrown into a small room like mine, and I must say that was quite an amusing performance if I do say so myself. It amused me somehow to see others suffering for some strange reason. Well I mean I like seeing others suffer when I'm hunting for them but I can no longer hunt since im stuck in this lab of some sort.
The next few days felt like hell more testing till suddenly one particular day it all stopped. No testing, nothing all they did was come in and check on me giving me food in the process letting me free roam whenever I wanted. I was quite confused why they were letting me do all of this when I asked if they would just hand me a clipboard. I took it and felt my blood run cold as I read through. “Subject 87-Z must adhere to established fitness protocols in order to maximize their productivity. Our team of experienced professionals are tasked with ensuring the safety of both the subject and their unborn baby on a daily basis, vigilantly maintaining all safety procedures. Both parties receive constant monitoring and care under our watchful eye.” I slowly handed back the clipboard trying to process what I just read. I understood why I had free roam. The scientist walked out as I slowly held my stomach. I didn't know what to think. I was confused, angry, upset, and all at once I couldn't get a grip on my emotions- if my proxies saw me like this they'd freak out shouting “Slender has emotions?!” I'd never hear the end of it- as I leaned back against the cold hard wall I felt tears swell up in my eyes. I quickly wiped them before they fell.
Days flew by faster than I could count the months I was walking in the halls with a slight waddle. The others have gotten used to seeing my presence so I wasn't too horribly worried about them. I sat down on a bench and my back ached. I placed a hand on my back slightly groaning the guards that came with sat next to me as I sat in between them I felt them rubbing my back right on the spot where it was aching it felt so good I just about fell asleep before I could I got up or tried to the guards helped me up after seeing me struggle for five minutes. I made my way to my room and sat down. The guards stayed by my room for multiple reasons. They walked into my room and gave me a massage. I slurred my words. I was so relaxed I couldn't speak a word. I felt movement and shifts in my belly. I felt the guards place a hand on my belly, rubbing it gently. I felt them lift my stomach. I felt the pain in my back melt away. I felt so relaxed I grew tired. I layed down feeling relaxed. The guards walked out and stood by the door making sure that I and my unborn child were safe from the other people that tend to escape their rooms. I fell asleep within minutes and soon started having night terrors.
“GO! GO! GO! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!” my commander yelled as I ran through piles of dead bodies on the field full of trenches, hiding holes and barriers I loaded my gun and fired a couple of rounds at the enemy I hit them and watched them fall I continued running passing trenches the soldier beside me my best friend jumped on a hand grenade blood splattered on me I couldn't believe my eyes my best friend jumped on a hand grenade to save me I tried not to cry but it hurt so bad tears started falling like a faucet that was left on I gathered all my strength and wiped the tears I had found a new found strength in me that I never thought I would find I was angry, upset hell I was pissed. I felt for a pulse and faintly felt it I picked up my friend and ran for it shooting any enemies in my way no one was going to hurt anyone again blood kept splatting on me. I felt a sharp pain in my leg I looked down and saw that I had been shot I turned around seeing the destruction I had left behind I felt my friend's heartbeat against my back I quickly ran to the nearest hospital. Doctors and nurses swarmed over to us they took me and my friend to different operating rooms they put me under and later woke up on a bed I looked next to me to see my friend still passed out I grabbed his hand.
“It's going to be alright Tyler we’re going to make it out alive,” I told him
The doctor sat next to me and told me that I lost my leg and would have to use a prosthetic he wasn't sure if Tyler was going to make it I had felt my blood run cold. My best friend had a 1% chance of survival…I didn't want to believe it I refused to believe my friend had a 1% chance of survival he had to live he just had to…He had to come home and see his newborn and his newly wedded wife…he can't just leave them. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months when I heard a sound coming from Tyler I quickly looked at Tyler.
“S-Simon i-i know im not gonna make it…tell my wife and my baby boy I love them for me…please” Tyler managed to say through the pain
“W-What?! N-no you have to live” I said to Tyler “You just gotta live”
“Please Simon…tell them for me…” Tyler said growing tired “Please”
“O-okay, Tyler…I'll tell them,” I said trying not to cry
“Farwell S-simon I hope to see you in heaven….” Tyler said taking his final breath
“No matter how far or how fast your run. The world isn't big enough to hide you away from me…Rest in peace, my friend…” I said as my voice cracked holding back tears
Tears ran down my face as Tyler's hand fell to gravity. I hugged Tyler tightly I wasn't ready to face his family let alone his wife and son. Once I got deployed I went to Tyler's family and told them the heartbreaking news they all surrounded me embracing me in a hug.
I awoke screaming Tyler's name tears streaming down my face. The guards came in and hugged me calming me and offered to go for a walk I nodded. They helped me up as I waddled through the halls I could feel the baby moving I placed a hand on my ever-extended belly and closed my eyes a bit.
A few months flew by and I held my newborn for the first time all my worries melted away a few minutes later they took my baby away from me and turned me loose I turned back and ran inside I grabbed my baby and ran out teleporting to my house I was free….Finaly free from harm.
