Interview of a Violent Student
Born 1946, M, from PA, United StatesInterview of a Violent Student
I wrote the following poem after watching school-fight videos in which school students seemed totally obsessed in fighting one another than in doing any type of study. But it wasn't just the frequency of the fights, but the sheer savagery of the attacks that greatly impressed me.
You see, the skulls of unconscious kids were being kicked as if they had been stomping on cockroaches. Groups of these so-called students were repeatedly converging on a solitary helpless smaller ones, like packs of voracious hyenas, in order to administer a beating.
Other students were shown attempting to brain others with chairs and fire extinguishers. In short, there was a total disregard for the sanctity of human life.
The poem below attempts to convey that mentality via the the interview of a group of these hypothetical students.

Interview of a Violent Student
“Why do you go to school?" I asked
“To fight!" they all replied!"
"To study is a boring task
Would rather simply die!
Would rather bludgeon bleeding skulls
Than read a boring book.
and stomp on anyone who falls
While giving savage looks.
Much rather fight in hallways grand,
In restrooms midst the gore.
And like the Spartans make a stand,
and cries of pain ignore!
And if a teacher intervenes,
His blood will also flow.
And if for mercy loudly screams,
Our anger he will know.
So that's the reason we in school!
But why you ask? I say!
Now get yow ass back home you fool!
Or we will make you pay!"
